Myles Munroe shares a profound message to believers: “God will not give you what you pray for, He will give you what you can manage.”

Matthew 25:15-19

Jesus shared a parable about good stewardship in Matthew 25:15-19, where He presented a story about three servants entrusted with bags of gold by their master. The first servant received five bags of gold, the second two bags, and the last servant one. As the master went on a journey, he expected them to manage what he had given.

The first servant invested the five bags of gold and gained five more. The second did the same and gained two additional bags of gold. However, the last servant hid his bag of gold and did not gain anything.

When the master returned, he settled accounts with his servants and was pleased with the two who gained more. But he punished the last servant and took away his only bag of gold.

“So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matthew 25:28-30)

God will not give you what you prayed for

Referring to the parable, Myles taught an eye-opening principle about stewardship.He said, “Whatever you mismanage, you will lose it.”

H”That’s why God will never give you what you pray for. He will only give you what you can manage. You pray for a new house, and God’s looking at your unkempt apartment. So, He only gives you what you’ve proven you could manage.”

Therefore, if one mismanages his body, marriage, money, or children, surely, he will lose them. That’s why it is important to ask God for wisdom to be a faithful steward of what He has entrusted us with.

What Does the Bible Say?

There is incredible wisdom and promise found in Hebrews 13:5. “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

It is often a challenge to keep our lives free from the love of money and to find contentment in God’s faithful provision. How can you honor God with your finances and experience the peace that comes from trusting in His unfailing love?

This verse encourages you to keep your life free from the love of money and to find contentment in what you have. Your loving Father assures you that He will never leave you nor forsake you. This powerful reminder calls you to evaluate your relationship with money and embrace a lifestyle of stewardship. By placing God at the center of your financial decisions, you can experience a deep sense of contentment and trust in His provision.

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Matthew 6:24, is a reminder that you cannot serve both God and money. The pursuit of wealth can easily consume your heart and lead you astray from the things that truly matter. Financial stewardship calls you to prioritize your devotion to God above all else, recognizing that He is the ultimate source of provision and security. By aligning your heart with His purposes, you can break free from the love of money and cultivate a joyful and purpose-filled life.

Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”

Proverbs 3:9-10 invites you to honor the Lord with your wealth and to offer Him the first fruits of your produce. When you acknowledge God as the owner of all things, you shift your perspective from ownership to stewardship. As faithful stewards, you embrace a mindset of generosity, seeking opportunities to bless others and support Kingdom work. In doing so, you open yourself up to experience the abundant blessings of God’s provision.

Remember that contentment is not found in the accumulation of wealth but in the unwavering faithfulness of your Heavenly Father. When you release the love of money and find contentment in His provision, you open the door to a life of freedom, peace, and joy. Cultivate a heart of gratitude, using your resources to honor God and bless others, knowing that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Stewardship Brings Increase

Did you know that stewardship, godly stewardship brings increase in your life? Are there things you’re wanting to increase in? Whether it’s knowing the word of God more or getting a promotion at work or getting a new car? I’m here to tell you there is one key piece to that, and that is stewardship.

How are you stewarding the car you have now? How are you stewarding the job you have now? How are you stewarding your time with the Lord right now? I want to read in Luke 16:10-12. I’ll quote it to you. “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” That’s huge, right? Let’s just even take that in. “And whoever is dishonest with very little, will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?”

I think of, in verse 12, you know, renting a house and “Oh well, it’s not mine, so I don’t need to take care of it.” No, you need to take care of what you’ve been given, so the Lord will trust you with more. I think back on a time where I was in a job that I really did not enjoy. I really loved the company, but I did not like what I was doing, and the Lord really kind of gave me a humility check. I kept saying, “Oh, I hate my job.” I would even think it in my head. And He said, “Hey, what if you said you loved your job?” And so I was like, “You’re right, Lord.” And so I started saying, “I love my job. I love my job” anytime I would feel frustrated about what I was doing. And then what happened was, God gave me a love for that job, and I stewarded what He had given me. And then what happened is, after month of doing that, someone from the company came to me and said, “Would you apply for this position in my team? You pretty much have the job already.” And it was a promotion, and it was a much better job for me.

And so I want to encourage you in that, that is who God is. It’s not just a specific story for me, but it’s the way that He works. And we see it in scripture and we see it in our experience in life. So steward the things that you are doing today. Steward cleaning your house, steward going to work, steward going to church, steward parenting your children in godly stewardship, and I promise it will bring increase.

And so, Lord, I just pray over my friends right now. I pray abundance. I pray favor, and I pray a blueprint on what godly stewardship looks like. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Friend, there’s a heart, there’s a life, there’s a person, there’s a real person that needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ at this very moment. Today, I appeal to you to join with us and become a media missionary. Sow financially into GOD TV, and let’s take this good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth. Through your giving, through your prayer, through your support, this world is going to be changed. And the good news of Jesus Christ is going to be heard around the world. God bless you.

How To Be A Godly Steward

God is a God of rewards, and there’s no rewards where there are no options. You’ve gotta have two trees in the garden. You’ve gotta have two trees in the garden. To be rewarded for choosing the right tree, you have to have the option of another tree. A word spoken of our life for which we have no options cannot be rewarded, because there’s no will involved.

We have asked for things from the Lord that He cannot randomly give them unless the character or the depth of devotion has been proven by us continuously choosing the right tree, if you will. We have asked to raise the dead. We have asked for every cancer case that we pray for to be healed. We’ve asked for these things from the Lord. You fill in the blanks. But the point is, is we’ve raised up to the Lord these impossible cries, and the moment you prayed it, He began to answer it. But He answered it by giving you the answer in seed form. In Luke 19 the disciples say, “Jesus.” They were thinking that it was at that time He was gonna make His military move, if you will. And Israel was gonna be brought outta the dominion of Rome and under His rulership as a king. And they were expecting this sudden military move from heaven to remove Israel out of the enemy’s occupation. And in response to that, Jesus gave them a parable about minas, about money, and they stewarded the money. They made profit and the master showed up and turned over cities to their care.

Let’s put it this way. A guy used a thousand dollars, he invested his master’s money, he made $10,000 profit. The master shows up and made him a governor over 10 cities. What were they looking for? They were looking for earthly dominion of God over cities. What did Jesus do? He took them into a parable where the dominion was given to them through the process of godly stewardship. In other words, they stewarded the money that was in their pocket, which gave them an audience to influence the heart and mindset of an entire city. God gives us things in seed form, but because we expect for God to give us an oak tree instead of an acorn, we have very little value for what has been given to us and end up aborting the miracle in its development stages.

At one of our school sessions in our school of ministry, I felt prompted as I was coming up to the class, I felt there was somebody there that had asked the Lord for $500 that morning. And so when I stood up, I said, “Is there anyone here that you asked God specifically for $500 this morning?” A woman raised her hand. I said, “Come here,” and I gave her $50. I said, “This isn’t $500. It’s 50,” I said, “But there’s $500 in the $50.” In the same way that there’s an oak tree in an acorn, there’s $500 in the $50. I found out a couple weeks later, she went home. She went to the grocery store that evening. There was a family there that couldn’t pay for all their groceries. She used her $50 to help those that were hungry to have some food on the table, thinking that she just lost her $50. And when she got home, somebody drove up and brought her $500.

Choosing Excellence

Excellence is a choice the bible urges us to commit to daily. It is evidence of serving God. Even more, choosing excellence sets us on the path of abundance.

An abundant life is not about what you have, but how you steward it. For example, if you’re cleaning homes, doing it unto the Lord is what matters. Alternatively, if you’re the CEO of a company, leading in a manner that reflects God’s character is pivotal.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24)

As believers, we prosper in each of these scenarios when we commit ourselves to work that is not mediocre.

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

Choosing Excellence as a Mindset

While there are plenty of measures to be used to assess excellence, it is ultimately a decision we make with our hearts. Our work, families, and ministry are transformed in our heart’s commitment to quality.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8)

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

Take Responsibility for the Stewardship of Your Life

God placed you on the earth for such a time as this. In understanding your divine purpose, cultivate greatness in your heart and the life all around you. Each day provides opportunity to allow Holy Spirit to teach you His ways; lean into His whisper today.

God’s Presence And Being A Faithful Steward

His Grace is sufficient for you and His presence is promised. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:10-11)

God’s Presence Is With You

God’s Presence is with you wherever you go. But, did you know it’s your responsibility as God’s vessel to steward His presence in your daily routine? Of course, God is not confined by any means but as God’s sons and daughters, we have the privilege of being a living place for The Holy Spirit. God’s presence is for us, and for the people around us. Intimacy with God is not only for your own edification, but the overflow of that is for those around you.

Wherever You Go

Again, scripture says, “For The Lord, your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9) The thought of this is comforting knowing that God is by my side. But, it’s very possible to live with this reality and not feel His presence. So, how do you feel His Grace? What does it mean to be in someone’s presence and physically see them beside you? Well, I propose that when God says He is with you wherever you go, it’s due to the fact that you can find God’s presence in anything you do.

He Can Be Found In All Things

God’s presence can be found anywhere. You can find His Grace on your morning walk while the birds are chirping. You can encounter His love through a friend at work, or even His healing presence through your doctor at an appointment. The possibilities are endless. The crazy part is some people are stewarding gifts that they are unaware they have. Yet alone, the true source in which it comes from. Jesus Christ.

How much more could people encounter God’s presence in their lives, if we as sons and daughters were capable of being faithful stewards of His Grace?

3 Keys for Accessing Prosperity

Many people have been misled by this, because of the way prosperity has been taught by some preachers and ministries. As a result, trust in the concept of God’s desire for His children to access prosperity is often low. Here are three keys to realign your thinking to a biblical view of how we can enter into prosperity starting today.

Key 1: You must believe that God wants to bless you

Psalm 35:27 says: “Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication and want what is right for me; Let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.””

Right there in scripture we see that God takes pleasure in our prosperity. That means that the heart of God is delighted when we prosper!

And in Psalm 84:11 the Bible says: “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

With these two scriptures God reveals the truths that: 1) God wants to see us prosper, and 2) God will not withhold any good things from His children.

Before we can enter into into prosperity we must first believe that it is God’s will for us to prosper. When we believe it, then we can enter into it. Take a moment and meditate on these two scriptures. Ask God to increase your faith for prosperity, because it is His will for you.

Key 2: Jesus promised us abundant life

In John 10:10 Jesus said, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (Amplified Bible)

Not only is it God’s will for us to prosper, but the Father sent His son Jesus to earth to reaffirm the Father’s heart. God’s desire is for us to be blessed, physically and spiritually, and in all ways! Jesus’ work on the cross allows us the freedom and power to enter into prosperity and abundance, simply by believing in Him! Jesus sacrificed His body on the cross in our place. He defeated death when he walked out of the tomb. Jesus paid the ultimate price for us and the war is won. Our inheritance is that we get to walk in abundant life.

If you believe in Jesus, and the work of the cross, then you get access to an abundant life. It’s that simple.

Key 3: God wants us to be blessed so we can advance His kingdom

Jesus said, in Luke 12:48, “But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” (NLT translation)

God wants to pour out blessings and prosperity upon His children, but not for us to sit back and keep it all to ourselves! That’s far from the reason God desires us to be blessed. God’s perfectly designed plan is for His children to use the blessings He has given us to advance the Kingdom of God. The more resources and prosperity we have in our lives, the farther reaching impact we can have for the Kingdom of God. And as Jesus clearly states in Luke 12:48, to whom much is given, much is expected. God expects us to use our wealth and prosperity to do good in this world, to help those in need and to glorify the name of Jesus.

When we assume a position, where we acknowledge that all of the blessings and wealth in our lives come from God for the purposes of advancing God’s Kingdom, it changes our relationship with our wealth and prosperity. Our wealth is no longer something for just us, it’s a tool to build God’s Kingdom, bless others, and glorify God. That is the position God wants us to operate from in order to effectively steward the prosperity He desires to release upon our lives.

The Key to Being a Faithful Steward

His master said to him, “Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy (the delight, the blessedness) which your master enjoys.” (Matthew 25:21 AMPC). – Being a good steward.

Stewardship requires faithfulness

God has graced you with gifts, talents, and abilities in order to multiply the opportunity that He presents. Faithful stewardship recognizes the value in every opportunity. When you value what God has assigned to you, He positions you to steward over more, He enlarges your capacity.

In the case of the two faithful servants, they were intentional to multiply what was assigned to them, each according to their ability. God knows your abilities. He knows your faults and shortcomings. As any good Father, He will not assign a task that will crush you. Trust God. His Word will not return unto Him void. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV). When God sends His Word, He expects it to prosper. He expects you to succeed and produce a harvest. Your assignment, is a seed, an instruction given by God. Your heart is the ground where His seed is planted, watered and fertilized by your faith, patience and diligence. Expect your harvest to manifest. When God assigns a task to you, He knows what He’s planted in you. So be diligent and trust Him for His results.

We all get a chance

It is your faithfulness in this season that postures you for promotion in the next.

Remember this, each servant was given the platform to produce, all three servants had the ability and potential to produce. Two of the three servants multiplied their assigned resources according to their ability. The third had the ability to produce but produced nothing. You have the ability and potential to produce. It is your faithfulness in this season that postures you for promotion in the next. “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalms 75:6, 7 KJV)

Whether you’re working as an employee for a corporation, or you’re an entrepreneur, God releases promotion, enlargement, and advancement to those who stay diligent and faithful. Stay diligent in the small things and God will make you ruler over many. The patterns you set today have consequences for the future. It’s your choice.

Self-reflection

Are you prematurely burying your talent because of fear? The non-producing servant had the ability, he had the opportunity and his master gave him resources to multiply but fear enslaved him to an unprofitable mentality. “His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:26, 30 KJV) Fear will torment you and keep you in bondage. Fear is a paralytic condition that keeps you stagnant. Have Faith. Trust God. Move forward. Don’t withhold the gifts that God has placed on the inside of you. Your gifts are profitable and are meaningful to God. You have a purpose.

Produce what God has planted in you, trust Him to birth out the full vision. Faithfully steward over what you have been assigned with today and trust God to reward you with more in time. “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” (Proverbs 10:4 KJV)

Ask God for enlargement

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” (1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV)
