A Christian social media influencer reminded people what being in a church truly meant.

Brian shared a powerful reminder for churchgoers. Occasionally, they had people who would sleep on the benches outside their church’s front door. He admitted that those benches weren’t made for people to sleep on. However, that wasn’t a big deal for him. He humbly acknowledged that God’s ways were different. Their security cameras would record those people who come, and they would leave them alone until morning.
Then, when the sun came up, a few of their church members would get together and ensure they were alright. “We make sure they’re fed, and their basic needs are taken care of,” he highlighted. After that, he recalled the recent encounter they had. Several of the guys who would sleep there joined the church members, and they had breakfast together. They talked about life for over an hour.

Furthermore, Brian stressed that he was thankful because he was surrounded by people who were more interested in being the church than having church. Then, he mentioned the love that God has for homeless people. “You see, this guy, he’s someone’s son. But more importantly, he is a child of God. And if that were my son, I would hope that someone was showing compassion,” he emphasized.
Moreover, he believed that the job of God’s followers was not to judge and condemn others, instead they were called to love, accept, and provide for them. The beautiful moment he shared with homeless people made him realize that what people did inside the church was pointless if they didn’t practice what they learned outside.
He said, “It doesn’t matter how wonderful the songs that we sing in here are, if we don’t sing that song out here as well.” Then, he cited that it didn’t matter if people heard a good sermon if the sermon they preached outside the church was the exact opposite. He firmly believed that people still matter.
