Heidi Baker reminded every Christian not to walk in somebody else’s anointing, emphasizing that copies are worthless.

The founder of Iris Global, Heidi Baker, illustrated to the congregation of Awakening Church what it would look like if people walked in somebody else’s anointing. Firstly, she invited a large man from the crowd to join her on stage, making note of his European shoe size, which was 49. Then, Heidi asked the man to exchange shoes with her, likening their shoes to their respective anointings. She expressed that people tend to desire to walk in someone else’s anointing.

As they wore each other’s shoes, they walked on the stage, and both had an uncomfortable experience. Then, Heidi shared, “Now we are the body of Christ. So this is, you know, I don’t think. I don’t think I’ve ever, ever had on shoes this size.” She asked the congregation if wearing a huge size of shoe would work for her. After that, she highlighted her big shoes, “This is what we do when we’re trying to, you know, compete or, or walk in somebody else’s anointing.”

Furthermore, she mentioned, “We can work on it but it’s still going to not fit us. We are, each one of us, so-called to be who God called us to be. You see, copies are worthless.” She reminded the church that people are called to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to focus on the King. They aren’t called to walk in somebody else’s shoes. Instead, they are called to walk in their own anointing.

Moreover, she believed that when people walk according to what God has called them to do, then He will flow through them with great freedom.

She encouraged them, “We’re just the channel. We want the Holy Spirit to put what He wants to put in and through our little lives. To walk in the anointing that He has picked out… And then let that anointing come together so that the body of Christ starts working together to bring in the Great and Mighty Harvest.”

A Woman Walks After Many Years Of Being Confined To A Wheelchair

Evangelist Robby Dawkins recently shared a testimony about how a woman who was confined to a wheelchair for many years and was healed.

Robby Dawkins has had a desire to raise up underground church leaders that can usher in the transforming power of God in the most dangerous countries on earth .

Recently, the evangelist has seen breakthrough by stepping up to unify different Christian denominations. In a recent post, he shared that he and other Catholic ministers united to pray for their respective congregations.

“Unprecedented Catholic gathering being invited as a Protestant Minister, woman Catholic minister, and a Catholic lay minister by this Polish Catholic Bishop to address the priests in his diocese last Friday on raising up the laity to be ministers/missionaries in their communities,” he said.

Because of his passion for Jesus and compassion for people, he ministered to a Polish Catholic woman who had been confined to a wheelchair for many years.

“A Polish Catholic woman walks after many years confined to a wheelchair! I stepped over to her after being prompted by the Holy Spirit and asking her husband what was the issue. He said she had advanced stomach cancer that had spread throughout her lower intestinal area. I asked him to put his hand there, then I touched his hand, and she began to feel a tingling all over and the pain left. She was then able to get out and walk,” he wrote in a caption.

Moreover, the evangelist shared another testimony about how such testimonies were possible despite the enemy’s attempts to stop them.

“Something powerful is happening in the Catholic Church in Poland amidst many exiting the Church. A powerful move of the Holy Spirit is taking place in Poland. It has the earmarks of revival or even a national Awakening. Many are still amazed at what God did this past week in Poland. The devil tried to stop this two different times (literally everything was booked and ready 2 different times then forced to cancel over the past 4 years), but I finally got to be a part of this event to equip our Catholic family in Power Evangelism with two great friends, Marcin Zielinski and Mary Healey,” he said.

8 Reasons Why We Can’t Follow Jesus Apart From The Church

Famous rapper Lecrae recently tweeted, “I love Jesus, but I’m not churchy. I used to be embarrassed by that, but now I realize it is okay to love God but not fit in with Church culture.” I will agree with Lecrae if he is alluding only to a religious, legalistic, church culture. However, if he is referring to not participating in a local church, I strongly disagree. This sentiment exhibits a growing trend of Christians who do not see the importance of being affiliated with a local church. Is this healthy? Can a Christ-follower truly follow Jesus apart from a local church?

Let me ask this question: Can you cut off your finger and expect it to live, fulfill its purpose, and function properly?

I believe the greatest challenge we have in evangelical circles is a lack of biblical ecclesiology. Because of this, we have seen rampant individualism amongst Christians, unaccountable social media teachers, and so-called prophets. We see the blind leading the blind as these believers aimlessly attempt to fulfill their purpose.

Here are 8 reasons why Christ followers need to function in a local church:

1.In the Gospels, when people followed Jesus, He immediately brought them into His community.

Jesus had his 12 disciples and then another 70 (Luke 9:1, Luke 10:1). With this community, He said He was building His church (Matthew 16:18). Hence, at the very least, this shows the church in its nascent form. This debunks the notion that Jesus made disciples without the local church in mind.

2.The Church is inextricably connected to Jesus.

The apostle Paul called the Church the fullness of Jesus as the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23). Hence, those who follow Jesus apart from the Church are attempting to follow a head without a body!

3.The Church is the visible manifestation of the invisible Christ.

The Apostle John said, “as He is [in heaven] so are we in this [present] world (1 John 4:17). He also equated loving the invisible God with loving the visible Church (1 John 4:20). Thus, there is both a mystical body of Christ and a visible body (Hebrews 12:23). It is mystical partially because there is a church in heaven, and in this life. (We don’t always know who all the true Christians are). However, there is also a physical corporate church with members who participate

in doing life together as a family of families. We see this in all the New Testament Epistles (1 Timothy 3:15).

4. The promises of God assume a corporate body.

When we read both Testaments, the promises and prophetic utterances were given in the context of the nation of Israel or the corporate Church. Individuals never assumed scripture was just for them. Since people didn’t walk around with Bibles during the early Church, they would not have even known the word of the Lord if they weren’t either in a synagogue or hearing somebody read a letter from one of the Apostles in a local assembly (Luke 4:16-20). A promise about God completing the good work He started in you was given to a church, not merely an individual (Philippians 1:6). Consequently, people in biblical times could not conceive of following God apart from a community of believers.

5. You cannot be a disciple apart from the Church.

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said that the way a person can be discipled is by being baptized. Since baptism was the initiation rite to officially join the Jesus community, it means that Jesus commanded people to join His Church to follow him.

6. You cannot hear the whole counsel of God apart from the Church.

In the book of Revelation, there are seven times where Jesus admonished us to hear what the Spirit was saying to the Churches (Revelation 2:7, Revelation 3:6, Revelation 11, Revelation 13, Revelation 17, Revelation 29, Revelation 22). Hence, people in their city could not hear the Lord’s word regarding the destiny of their city without participating in their particular local church.

Also, it was interesting that when Jesus wanted to speak, He spoke through the messenger of a particular church, which likely was the overseeing Bishop of that region. He also assumed spiritual and apostolic alignment with the local church for a Christian to hear His word and walk out His message of warning, correction, and edification.

7. Jesus is coming back for His bride.

According to Ephesians 5:27, Jesus is coming back for His Bride, not merely for individual Christians. As we know, the bride of Christ as His Church will be publicly given to Jesus in the final consummation of human history at the marriage supper of the lamb (Revelation 19:6-9). Jesus loves His Bride so much that Paul the apostle warns Jesus-followers not to cause division and that He will judge them for not correctly discerning His Church (1 Corinthians 11: 27-34).

8. We need the gifts and abilities of a committed congregation to function.

According to Ephesians 4:11-12, the body of Christ needs the five cluster gifts to be matured in faith for the work of the ministry. Also, in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, the apostle Paul depicts the Church as a human body that depends on its various parts to function (such as a hand, eye, ear, leg depending on one another to fulfill its purpose). Consequently, God does not depend upon merely one person to minister to His Church, but distributes the gifts according to His will. They are for many members for His body to function correctly and fulfill her assignment in Him (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

Thus, those outside of the local Church cannot function in Christ the same way a hand cannot function apart from the nervous system, the arm, the heart, the brain, and the rest of the human body.

Is The Church Really Ready?

Throughout this year, many have prophesied of the great awakening and the great harvest that is coming. I have been one such person who has been speaking into this and sharing my insights. Yet, one question has begun to rise up in me that adds caution, not to the harvest, but to the church’s readiness to receive the harvest. It’s the question of how receptive the church will be to them. 

Over the last year or so, America has watched the escapades of music artist and producer Kanye West has gone from hosting worship services at his home and now taking his choir into different inner city churches. Sunday, September 8, 2019, he was at Fellowship Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. This past Sunday, September 15, 2019, he came to New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, GA. For nearly an hour, is choir sang many popular Contemporary Christian songs. 

What I found to be intriguing about this moment during the service were the comments that were being made over social media, as many watched. Many, were questioning the newly installed Pastor Bryant’s decision to provide Kanye a platform in the church, knowing that Kanye has been an outspoken supporter for president Donald Trump, while Pastor Bryant himself has been an outspoken voice in speaking against many of the things he finds objectionable about him and his leadership as president. 

Even more surprising is many who are seemingly on the fence as to Mr. West’s motives for doing this, when his career has seemed so controversial as a secular artist. Kanye West’s public persona has not been without flaw, tragedy, nor without controversy. It’s one of the downsides to the life of a public figure, because celebrity is something in which we see what we think we see and it’s not always the totality of who that person is.  

As I watched the many comments fly across the screen as people watched this concert take place, I wondered, is the church ready for people like Kanye in their church? For years, many artists have felt the stigma and shame of not being accepted by the church because of their differences. Many have found their solace in the secular community. Yet, in this age when God is stirring many and drawing them back to a place of worship, what will the church do? 

It’s quite understandable that the church would have some hesitation, even as the early church wasn’t sure about the authenticity of the conversion of Paul the apostle. He was in fact one of the ones that had crucified many of the early Christians. He was even among the ones present at the stoning of Stephen.  

In this unique time and season, I believe that many in the church need to be both watchful but open to see what the Spirit is saying. God is not above using anyone at any time for His purpose. Now is a tie that the Church is being presented opportunities to receive celebrities, the LGBT community, and many others deemed forgotten or outsiders, as a test of the Church’s heart. Will it be said of the church, “we know they are Christians because of the difference in the way they love (see John 13:35)”?  

I pray that the church will not walk in fear but faith and have open arms. I readily admit that I was not always open, but I believe God has been growing me in this, opening my eyes and allowing the Spirit to show me things in a different light. Prayerfully, I am not alone.

Technology and media have become part of culture across the globe.  Even the poorest countries have access to media via television and cell phones. The widespread availability and access make technology and media a viable platform for spreading the Gospel through Christian TV streaming.  Christian TV streaming is a means for building up the Body of Christ through discipleship, worship, prayer and sharing the Gospel.

Discipleship

Christian TV streaming provides opportunity and access to Christian teaching and is a helpful resource for discipleship. It empowers believers who want to grow in their faith but may not have access to specific content or stream of teaching in the region or country where they live.  GOD TV provides Christian TV streaming that includes teaching, via conferences and ministries, from a wide variety of streams and releases it across the globe.

Worship

Worship is a universal language in the Body of Christ. Prayer

Colossians 4:2 encourages believers to, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”  Prayer is an essential part of the life of both individual believers and the Body of Christ as evident in Paul’s letter her to the Colossians.  In 2 Chronicles 7:14 God reveals the power of prayer, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Christian TV streaming makes being a witness for Christ to the “ends of the earth” much more accessible and affordable for all believers.  Hundreds of years ago it would take missionaries months to sail to different locations throughout the globe for the purpose of spreading the Gospel.  Paul spent years traveling to a few surrounding countries, just imagine the reach Paul’s ministry would have had if he had the resources of today?!

Christian TV streaming is helping to build and empower the Body of Christ to reach the world with the Gospel.  Hearts are being touched and lives are being transformed through encounters with God’s presence through media.  It is amazing how technology is building the Body of Christ on such a widespread scale!

South Korean Student Pens Emotional Letter To Filipino Brothers and Sisters

The Philippines is a beautiful country found in Southeast Asia comprised of more than 7,000 islands. In fact centuries ago, due to its rich natural resources, a lot of powerful nations tried to colonize the country—Spain, America, and Japan. Today, the Philippines is known as a popular vacation spot for it’s gorgeous sights and inviting people. It’s also known to be deeply religious with 81 percent of the population being Catholic, 11 percent Protestant and one percent belong to other Christian groups.

But the country is also suffering from widespread corruption, rampant crime, and is considered a third world country. Although in Rodrigo Duterte’s reign (presently the President of the Philippines) crime has been slowly reducing due to his resilient leadership. But is it enough for them to have a strong leader?

 

One Korean citizen, Jaeyoun Kim, a PhD student, shared her thoughts on this matter after spending time in the Philippines. What she observed among many Filipinos broke her heart. This is what she wrote that went viral with over 200,000 shares already:

Filipinos always complain about the corruption in the Philippines. Do you really think corruption is the problem of the Philippines?

I do not think so. I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for the Philippines. Let me first talk about my country, Korea. It might help you understand my point. After the Korean War, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world.

Koreans had to start from scratch because entire country was destroyed after the Korean War, and we had no natural resources.

Koreans used to talk about the Philippines, for Filipinos were very rich in Asia. We envy Filipinos. Koreans really wanted to be well off like Filipinos. Many Koreans died of famine. My father & brother also died because of famine. Korean government was very corrupt and is still very corrupt beyond your imagination, but Korea was able to develop dramatically because Koreans really did their best for the common good with their heart burning with patriotism.

Koreans did not work just for themselves but also for their neighborhood and country.

Education inspired young men with the spirit of patriotism.

40 years ago, President Park took over the government to reform Korea. He tried to borrow money from other countries, but it was not possible to get a loan and attract a foreign investment because the economic situation of South Korea was so bad. Korea had only three factories. So, President Park sent many mine workers and nurses to Germany so that they could send money to Korea to build a factory. They had to go through horrible experience.

In 1964, President Park Chung-hee visited Germany to borrow money. Hundred of Koreans in Germany came to the airport to welcome him and cried there as they saw the President Park. They asked to him, “President, when can we be well off? That was the only question everyone asked to him. President Park cried with them and promised them that Korea would be well off if everyone works hard for Korea, and the President of Germany got the strong impression on them and lent money to Korea.

So, President Park was able to build many factories in Korea. He always asked Koreans to love their country from their heart.

Many Korean scientists and engineers in the USA came back to Korea to help developing country because they wanted their country to be well off. Though they received very small salary, they did their best for Korea. They always hoped that their children would live in well off country.

My parents always brought me to the places where poor and physically handicapped people live. They wanted me to understand their life and help them. Have you cried for the Philippines? I have cried for my country several times. I also cried for the Philippines because of so many poor people.

I have been to the New Bilibid prison. What made me sad in the prison were the prisoners who do not have any love for their country. They go to mass and work for church. They pray everyday.

However, they do not love the Philippines. I talked to two prisoners at the maximum-security compound, and both of them said that they would leave the Philippines right after they are released from the prison. They said that they would start a new life in other countries and never come back to the Philippines.

Many Koreans have a great love for Korea so that we were able to share our wealth with our neighborhood. The owners of factory and company distributed their profit to their employees fairly so that employees could buy what they needed and saved money for the future and their children.

When I was in Korea, I had a very strong faith and wanted to serve in a church. However, when I came to the Philippines, I completely lost my faith. I was very confused when I saw many unbelievable situations in the Philippines. Street kids always make me sad, and I see them everyday.

The Philippines is the most “religious” country in Asia, they say. But there are too many poor people here. People go to church every Sunday to pray, but nothing has been changed.

My parents came to the Philippines last week and saw this situation. They told me that Korea was much poorer than the present Philippines when they were young. They are so sorry that there are so many beggars and street kids. When we went to Pagsanjan, I forced my parents to take a boat because it would be fun.

However, they were not happy after taking a boat. They said that they would not take the boat again because they were sympathized the boatmen, for the boatmen were very poor and had a small frame. Most of people just took a boat and enjoyed it. But, my parents did not enjoy it because of love for them.

My mother who has been working for a church since I was very young told me that if we just go to church without changing ourselves, we are not Christians indeed. Faith should come with action. She added that I have to love Filipinos and do good things for them because all of us are same and have received a great love from God. I want Filipinos to love their neighborhood and country as much as they love God so that the Philippines will be well off.

I am sure that love is the keyword, which Filipinos should remember. We cannot change the sinful structure at once. It should start from person. Love must start in everybody, in a small scale and have to grow. A lot of things happen if we open up to love. Let’s put away our prejudices and look at our worries with our new eyes.
If you have a child, teach them how to love the Philippines. Teach them why they have to love their neighborhood and country.

That’s all I really want to ask you, Filipinos.

Bringing Life to Dry Bones

In the 37th chapter of the book of Ezekiel, the Lord God led the prophet Ezekiel to a valley of dry bones. The valley floor was full of them. God asked Ezekiel to look at the bones and asked him if he believed that the bones could live. His response to God was only that He knew in His Lord’s sovereignty. Then God commanded Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones, commanding them to reconnect and to live.

For too long, the Church has been like this valley of dry bones; disconnected and disjointed, dry and in many cases lifeless. This was never to be the case. It was meant to be the carriers of life. The Bible speaks of the Church as vessels possessing rivers of living water. Even in the natural, the human body is made up of approximately 90% water.

We are living in a day in which God is calling forth His prophets to speak to the dry bones of churches. So many have not been living. The prophets have declared already that the body needs to come together, to put differences aside that separated it into denominations and sects that create division, disjointedness, and disconnection among the Body. Many are now coming to the realization that there is a bigger and bolder picture, a brighter story at play. Yet, while there is this realization, something still lingers.

Recently I heard someone say that in order for resurrection to take place, death has to be present. What many do not realize is that death occurred at the Cross already, and when Christ got up, it enabled the Church to get up with Him. The prophets are among us even now, going to the four corners of the earth calling for the breath of God to breathe new life back into the Body. The breath that is being breathed into the Body is a breath that is healing the members, breathing life back into each one so that as the realization that the Body can live itself; it carries the water that was meant to be carried to where it is needed.

Where is water needed? In the desert and wilderness. David said, “Though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil.” As the Church comes alive from the fresh wind that is being blown, strength is being given to stand strong, unafraid, with courage and conviction. Now is the time that the Church leave the valley, to survey and surmount the places God has said should be redeemed and reclaimed.

If you’ve found that your life has been like that of the dry bones, seek out the fresh wind: The Spirit that gives life anew. In the Spirit is not only the quickening, the strengthening, the reviving of passion not to just live, but to live to be a part of the greater story which Christ declared the Church was meant to be a part of. He declared that greater works would be done by the Church. As the Church begins to yearn to be a part of this greater work and bigger story, transformation will not only happen within the Body, but also every place where the Body is found. Let us continue to prophesy to the bones and bring life back.
