Amazon Prime has launched an animated show that portrays Satan as the hero and God as the enemy. The unsettling storyline has prompted Christians to pray against the adversary’s strategy of deceiving people.

The video-streaming channel released a trailer for their upcoming cartoon, “Hazbin Hotel,” on their social media page, X, formerly Twitter. They wrote in the caption, “Heaven and Hell like you’ve never seen them before.”
The video introduced Satan, or Lucifer, as one of the angels of Heaven, described as a “dreamer with fantastical ideas for all creation.” It also portrayed Lilith, who was supposed to be the first woman before Eve. Due to her “fierce independence,” she left Adam and the garden. Lucifer and Lilith then met and fell in love. They aimed to provide humankind with “the magic of free will,” leading them to offer the forbidden fruit to Adam’s second wife, Eve, who accepted it willingly. As a consequence of their “reckless act,” they were punished by the elders of Heaven and banished to the Dark Pit. However, Hell thrived under Lilith’s influence, posing a threat to Heaven. The elders made a “heartless decision” to send an army annually to eradicate sinners and demons.
The show follows Charlie Morningstar, the daughter of Lucifer and Lilith, who creates a rehabilitation program through the Hazbin Hotel.

Watch and Pray
The clip elicited various reactions from viewers. Unbelievers found the story “interesting,” while Christians perceived it as a deceptive retelling. The cartoon portrays Lucifer as an unsung hero, fostering sympathy towards him. Christians must remain vigilant, as they can also be influenced by the enemy’s strategy of portraying evil as good and good as evil.
But Jesus has already warned ahead of these last days. He urges His followers to “watch and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”(Luke 21:36)
Let us continue to pray that the enemy’s schemes will not prosper and that many will come to know Christ.
