Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes declared to the public that he’s on the “football field to glorify God” during a Super Bowl press conference.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes To Glorify God
Despite the fame and success that the sport brought to quarterback Patrick Mahomes, he remained grounded in his Christian faith. In a recent Super Bowl news conference, he shared his motivation every time he’s on the field—God.
In an interview during the conference, the quarterback professed that he wanted to glorify God in everything he does.
“I feel like I’ve grown in my faith over these last few years,” he shared. “And I think that’s [given] me more of a sense of who I am and why I play the game that I play.”
Deeply Rooted In Christian Faith
Also earlier, in a report by Sports Spectrum, Patrick shared how everything he does is deeply rooted in his Christian faith.
“My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do,” he said. “I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His Name. So it has a role in everything that I do. And obviously, we’ll be on a huge stage in the Superbowl that He’s given me, and I want to make sure I’m glorifying Him while I do it.”
GOD TV previously reported that Patrick is the “first half-billion-dollar player in sports history. History made.” The sports industry deemed him “one of the most prolific athletes.”
Further, the NFL star shared that his heart for God has always been giving him peace. Because he knows that his goal in the game isn’t really “winning football games” but glorifying God. As a result, he could easily handle the pressures of the sport by focusing on God.
“And so it’s not about winning or losing,” he remarked. “It’s about going out there and being the best that I can – the best that I can in His Name.”
