A woman tormented by witchcraft for many years moved to the Bible Belt with her family in Houston, Texas, where she encountered the powerful presence of God.
Painful Childhood & Witchcraft
Kara Deels was raised by parents who took her to church from an early age, instilling in her a knowledge of God. However, after her parents’ divorce, she drifted away from the Christian faith. Subsequently, she was introduced to Satanic practices by a man who lived with them. The man taught them witchcraft, the calling of the dead, and Satanic worship. Vulnerable as children, they were easily swayed, and their home became a place where strange occurrences unfolded. Unfortunately, darkness, abuse, and fear became commonplace in their lives.

As a young girl, Kara often felt the force of darkness in their home. Hence, she would cry out to God at times to take her life. But each time, nothing happened. Then, she first tried to commit suicide at 12 years old. After that followed a series of self-destructive actions. These attempts frequently landed her in mental institutions or hospitals, leaving behind a trail of shame and pain.
Moving To Bible Belt
Kara also turned to alcohol to numb her pain. Later, she moved out of her home, only to realize she still couldn’t heal from the trauma. Instead, she partied and did all sorts of things to forget the real pain in her heart. She hit rock bottom.
Following her college graduation, Kara got married and started a family. Together with her husband, they relocated to the Bible Belt in Houston, Texas. That’s when everywhere she went, she would see Bible verses.
GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: JESUS IS YOUR FRIEND
Kara longed to know the truth. So, she tried attending church even while having many questions about life. After two years, she attended a worship concert where the worship leaders called for an altar call. Kara raised her hand when they asked if someone wanted to be prayed for to give their life to Jesus. The next thing she knew, a powerful force came into her.
