When Jesus Sets Someone Free
Freedom is from God, and He wants His people to experience true freedom through His Son, Jesus Christ. God wants us to experience freedom from sin, bondage, and slavery.
In Galatians 5:1, it is written, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Though God gives freedom free of charge without asking anything in return, sometimes it’s difficult to live by and adhere to. It’s only by His grace that someone can be completely free.
The Tragedy That Started Everything
A woman was still young when she suffered a sexual assault. Even though she didn’t want to, she developed addictions to escape the trauma caused by that tragedy.

“I was drugged and sexually assaulted. I couldn’t really come to terms with what happened. So, I fell into escapism. There wasn’t a day that went by for about five years where I wasn’t on a different substance,” she said.

Because of this lifestyle, she was diagnosed with several disorders.
“I had a really bad eating disorder, and I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar, PTSD, and severe anxiety syndrome,” she said.
A Woman Is Set Free
Everything that was happening overwhelmed her to the point that she wanted to kill herself.
But God intervened!
“God met me one day in my bathroom. I was deciding whether or not I was going to kill myself. He met me there and told me to call somebody. He told me to call a specific woman. And so I gave her a phone call, and she picked me up, and later we went to the church.

“That day, the Lord radically encountered me. And He set me free. He set me free from bondage, He set me free from my eating disorder, He set me free from addiction. And He set me free from myself,” she concluded.
