As Christians, we are called to nurture the ‘hidden person of the heart’—a spirit that is gentle, quiet, and enduring, which holds immense value in the eyes of God.
It all started with a simple song, “How He Loves,” igniting a dream that evolved into something truly extraordinary. From that song emerged a book, followed by an event, a radio show, and eventually, a thriving ministry.
At times, I struggled to fully appreciate the significance of this journey as it unfolded so swiftly. I dedicated myself to following Him with unwavering faith and obedience, making that my primary mission.
However, as my home life drifted from my ministry, I faced mounting challenges. Keeping my family united sometimes felt like climbing an unscalable mountain. Before my husband and I found our path together, God had already planted a deep desire for this ministry in my heart. The call was clear, and I couldn’t ignore the pull on my spirit.
Looking back, I see that I underestimated the importance of being aligned with someone who shared my values and made choices for my family that I now regret. These decisions transformed my life and led me to navigate the repercussions that soon followed.
I Had to Be Still
Psalm 46:10 offers a powerful reminder: “Be still, and know that I am God.” This verse provides comfort in our chaotic lives, urging us to pause and acknowledge His presence. It calls us to trust in something greater, to release our fears, and to lean into His guidance.
The wisdom and strength of this verse remind us of the vital need for stillness and faith, especially during turbulent times.
Through my work in radio ministry, I’ve experienced the joy of helping others find their own path forward. My journey through heartache revealed that I too needed support to reconnect with Him, aligning my life back to His intentions. The struggle was palpable, and I realized that reflecting on my life’s decisions was crucial for my healing.
My writing embodies my spiritual and emotional journey. In my books, I express my experiences through poetry, letters, and meaningful quotes, interlacing my story with threads of inspiration. It’s my hope to empower others to embrace their vulnerabilities and to share their truths through the written word.
New Beginnings
A particular poem titled “Butterfly” takes me back to a significant moment from my childhood. You can find it in the first volume of my series, “Inspirations: The Light… A Place Where My Soul Meets.” Throughout the years, I’ve written thousands of poems, each one capturing a piece of my story and reflecting my heart.
While outer beauty may draw our attention, it’s the inner beauty—traits like character, kindness, and authenticity—that truly matter. Cultivating this inner light fosters lasting confidence and has a positive ripple effect on those around us. By staying true to ourselves and coming to terms with our past, we nurture genuine self-respect and create a meaningful legacy for the world.
Just as a caterpillar undergoes a profound transformation, becoming a Christian is not merely an enhancement of the old self, but a complete reimagining.
As it is beautifully expressed in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 🙌
