Understanding God’s favor is knowing His divine nature. God gives favor. It is the grace to do that which we could not do in our own strength. Often, God grants favor without providing us a total understanding of the road ahead. Trusting God’s hand and leadership in our life allows His favor to flow freely in our circumstances.
How Can the Bible Help us in Understanding God’s Favor?
Notable figures in the word of God called upon His favor to help them accomplish what they were called to do. Often, they were selected by God to do so. Esther possessed the favor of God, and man (Ester 5:7). Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord, despite the corrupt culture of the time He lived in (Genesis 6:8). Mary found favor with God to carry Jesus (Luke 1:30). Each of these figures freely received favor from God to help them accomplish what God was doing on the earth at that time. God tethers His favor to our obedience, trusting our partnership with Him.
Favor Establishes Trust with Holy Spirit
Walking out the favor of God in our lives means trusting the Holy Spirit’s guidance completely. Like those mentioned above, God’s favor did not take them on the easiest path. Mary was undoubtedly misunderstood by those around her. Esther faced great risk in going before King Xerxes with her request. Noah built a huge boat in preparation for a flood that those around him did not believe would occur. Trusting God’s process and leadership not only builds our faith, but trust in Him. Difficulty in life does not mean that we are not in God’s favor. God’s grace does not take away struggle, but helps us to accomplish what we could not do alone.

A prayer for you today: Father, release your favor on this reader. Let them grow to know you richly as you partner together to accomplish your plans on the earth, amen!
