Tirso Cruz III is a renowned actor in the Philippines and he’s not just an ordinary celebrity. Tirso is also a firm follower of Jesus Christ. In his journey with God, he has encountered countless storms that have strengthened his faith. One such storm was the death of his oldest son, Teejay Cruz who was battling cancer.
Though Tirso and his family were mourning, they were still able to glorify God powerfully and celebrate Teejay’s life. Teejay’s brother posted a very inspiring message:
“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6)
“The battle with cancer for the past six months was tough, but it was also a time we got to experience God’s love and faithfulness in abundance as a family. I am so grateful to the Lord for your life that was filled with passion, boldness and love. You desired nothing but to serve God and to glorify Him through dancing. Now, you will be able to do it free from sickness and pain, and in front of our Creator Himself – and you get to worship Him there forever. I love you, Kuya. Thank you to everyone who stood with us in prayer. Today, Kuya TJ has received the miracle of healing that we have believed God for. He is faithful.”
And because Teejay loved to dance, Tirso and His family offered a presentation for him. In the video, they danced ‘Every Praise’, knowing that Teejay is also dancing and praising God in Heaven with them.
“You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.” (Psalm 30:11)
This wonderful testimony proves how powerful God’s love is. We may experience great loss and sadness, but in our weakness, God will be our strength. In our grief, God will be our source of hope and joy. Losing somebody you love is not an easy thing. It takes so much courage to move on and live life without that person. But even through our hardships, the love of God will never leave us.
