Jessica Koulianos, Pastor Michael’s wife at Jesus Image Church, shares two issues that can hinder freedom for a Christian.

Jess is not a stranger to these issues. Having Benny Hinn as a father, she grew up familiar with the working of the Holy Spirit. And she has seen how the Holy Spirit brings forth freedom for the people. But some Christians still don’t receive them. So, Jess imparts knowledge that will help believers remove the things that hinder freedom.
According to her, there are two issues that keep freedom. And they are intimacy issue and the fear of the Lord issue.
She shared, “Why can’t I get free? A few things – lack of fellowship with Jesus. It’s an intimacy issue.”
“You’re trying to fill that void in your heart with other things: fake intimacy, fake satisfaction. And you’re filling it with those things because you feel like that’s going to satisfy your heart.”
Jessica highlighted that the only One who can satisfy is Jesus.
“You can get that [heart] filled in Jesus. Jesus alone. Everything else is counterfeit. It’s only temporary satisfaction. It’s not going to fill that void in your heart,” she continued.
Fear of the Lord
Then, aside from the intimacy issue, Jessica added that the other thing that can hinder total freedom is the lack of fear of the Lord.
She said, “When you’re aware of Jesus, when you’re aware of the Holy Spirit, you can’t even watch the things you used to watch. You can’t talk the way you used to talk. You can’t even think the things you used to without getting that conviction of the Holy Spirit.”
Jessica pointed out that the fear of the Lord keeps Christians away from slander, gossip, pride, and all other horrible things. “We all need to return to the fear of God!”
