Pierre Malan was raised in a Christian family in South Africa. He regularly attended church with his family and was familiar with the Bible. But he never had a real relationship with Jesus.
When he was fourteen years old, he started taking tennis seriously…and he was good at it! He began entering international tournaments and became his country’s top tennis player under 18 years old.
Then, the pandemic hit in 2020 and Pierre’s life started to change. Everything started closing, and he was forced to stay under lockdown.
With so much time on his hands, Pierre began realized how empty his life had been.
“I was just sitting in my room, and I realized that apart from tennis, I didn’t have anything,” he shared.
He had no friends because he was always traveling and was not close with his family because he was never home.
Then, he remembered his Christian coach, who always talked to him about Jesus. Pierre knew his coach loved Jesus more than tennis and wanted to know how that was possible.
So, he called his coach and asked for guidance.
Pierre reconnected to Jesus that night and asked Him to be his Lord and Savior.
He got plugged into a local church that started to help him grow in his walk with Christ.
Pierre continued to play tennis, but he discovered he no longer had the same desire he once had for the sport.
His love for Jesus outgrew his passion for tennis.
Today, Pierre no longer plays tennis and is serving the Lord in the ministry.
