Life and Death Are in the Power of the Tongue
By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
– Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
There’s nothing more powerful than the words we speak. Meditate on Hebrews 11:3 for a moment. Humans are made in the image of God. Followers of Jesus Christ are able to do the works Jesus did and greater, according to John 14:12. If an individual has faith and speaks forth words with authority, worlds are framed by those words.
Who are you? Who does God say you are?
What do you want? What does God want for your life?
Start speaking and decreeing these things over your life and watch them begin to manifest. Watch the Lord take those words and create your world. Everything going on in your life has to do with the thoughts you think and the words that proceed from your lips.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV)
Humans are given the ability to control what words come out of their mouths. Take every thought captive and turn it over to the obedience of Christ, then speak His truth and His life over your circumstances. The power of the Holy Spirit in each of us is super undervalued and appreciated. We’ve only scratched the surface of faith to believe the words coming from our lips can deliver a power punch in the spirit realm.
Keep in mind, there were two trees in the Garden of Eden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. As followers of Jesus, it’s time to feed on the tree of life fixing our sights on everything that’s pure, praiseworthy, noble, and of good report.
There are all kinds of books about affirmations and making decrees over your life, friends, family members and circumstances. The Bible is filled with promises for God’s children. Consider taking some time to search out promises found in His word and begin speaking them over yourself daily. It’s remarkable how consistently speaking God’s truth into your life and those around us really does begin to shift our entire world. The transformation that transpires as you declare of yourself who God says you are and the future you desire will rapidly form you into that individual you’ve always wanted and known yourself to be, deep down in those unspoken and hidden places. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is in YOU!
