Bible Study
This discussion guide is meant to be used as a simple, three-step tool to help your small group dive deeper into God’s Word, nurture conversation, and draw your group nearer to Christ. As a leader, begin your group in prayer by asking the Holy Spirit to lead your discussion.
Step 1 Watch
Watch The Gift of God with your small group and allow time for reflection and observation after the film is finished.
Step 2 Read
Read Ephesians 2:1-8 out loud with your group and allow time for reflection and observation of the passage of Scripture.
Step 3 Ask questions
- Read verses 1-3. Do you see yourself depicted in these verses? Explain why or why not?
- Hebrews 12:1-2 talks about being uniquely designed for Christ’s purposes. What are your dreams for your life? What do you think God’s dreams are for your life? Are they the same?
- Verses 4-8 take a decidedly optimistic turn from the previous 3 verses. Who is responsible for this turn of events and why?
- What is “the gift of God” and, if you have received this gift, how should it change the way you live your life?
