When Jessica Garza was given 6 years to live, she was afraid of what would happen to her children.
But amidst her fears, God showed up and gave her hope.
Jessica Garza’s Testimony
Early in her life, Jessica used drugs just to make it through life. She became so addicted to the point that she would take substance every hour.
“At that point I no longer wanted to live,” she said.
It was her way of mourning for her mother, fiance, and stepson. But God spoke to her: “You’re mourning your mother and she’s gone, but your kids are mourning you and you’re here.”
That’s when Jessica decided she needed to change her life. She surrendered and gave her life to Jesus.
Doctors Gave Her 6 Years To Live
When her life started to change for the better, she received tragic news.
“At one point I just started feeling really weak and tired and started bruising a lot and was a little concerned. So I decided to go ahead and make a doctor’s appointment,” she said.
The doctor told her to see a cancer specialist. After seeing one, she was diagnosed with Kappa Light Chain disease, a type of leukemia.
“The symptoms got very bad to the point where I couldn’t even get out of bed. I was told I have up to 4 years to live,” she recalled.
Doctors Gave Her 6 Years To Live But God Intervened
One time she was hiking, she remembered having a moment with God. She was very mad at God. “I was hiking and not knowing where I went. And then I started noticing the pathway.”
“That’s when God had said the same way, “You were lost on the road and you found your way back. That’s the same way you’re going to find your way back to Me,”” she said.

She went to Hungry Gen church and when the pastor asked if anyone needed prayer for healing, Jessica raised her hand.
At that time, she was in pain and her bones hurt.
The Power of Prayer
“Pastor had asked, “Did anybody receive some type of healing?” And I had not hurt anymore. My body wasn’t hurting. I wasn’t feeling pain in my bones the way I was,” Jessica said.
She went up and said that she was given 6 years to live. The congregation prayed over her again for a positive doctor’s report.
They prayed:
“Father, we thank You for Your healing touch, from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. I ask you right now, Holy Spirit, that Your fire will burn whatever is not of the Lord. Receive your healing right now, receive the touch of Jesus right now, be made whole in Jesus name.”
God Heals
“Lord, may she live to testify of Your goodness and of Your mercy for the rest of the days. May her family, may other people that know her be encouraged, in Jesus name. Amen.”
Jessica waited for two weeks for the doctor’s report. But she chose to continue to believe, worship, and pray.
Then she got a call from the doctor.
“He comes in with the paperwork, sits down, gets on his computer and he said, “Well, all your blood work is fine.Your bone marrow came back negative,” Jessica recalled.
God Will Never Leave You
Praise God!
“I said, “God’s the one who did this to me because He came to me and told me to trust Him. And if I trust Him, He would do it. And He did! Now I’m cancer free,” she said.
“My word of advice to anybody watching this or that’s going through the same struggles or any struggle at all. And even if you’re mad at God, He’s still there. Even when I was mad at Him, He’s the one who cured me, He’s the one who still loved me even when I was upset and mad with Him. He’s the one who was there for me no matter what. So now I owe my life to Him. But I’m telling you that He’s listening,” she concluded.
