Testimonies are powerful. They tell of what God has done and bring honor and glory to God. Sharing testimonies also releases the anointing for God to do again what He has done before. This means that your breakthrough becomes someone else’s breakthrough and their breakthrough becomes your breakthrough!
What Does The Bible Say?
Jesus describes the normal Christian life in Matthew 10:7-8.
It says, “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”
Notice that healing the sick is the first thing Jesus lists as He sends out the disciples and His instructions haven’t changed. Jesus healed the sick and we are created in His image. He came to the earth to show us how to live the naturally supernatural life He has called every believer to live. Jesus also left and sent the Holy Spirit to be our Helper!
If praying for the sick intimidates you. Do not fear because the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13) will help you fulfill the instructions Jesus has given.
Healing Testimony
Below is a testimony from Bob Gibson from Austin, Texas. As you watch Bob’s testimony, notice how simply and practically he prays for the donut shop owner. Also, pay attention to your body as you hear this story of our God healed multiple ailments. Remember, what God has done once for someone else, He can do again for you!
Application
Isn’t it wonderful to hear how Bob’s simple faith and obedience to pray resulted in physical healing and breakthrough for the couple’s business?! This breakthrough can be your breakthrough too. Take a few minutes to ask the Holy Spirit the following questions and write down what you hear.
- Do you or anyone you know need healing for any of the ailments that were healed in Bob’s testimony? Make a list of anyone who comes to mind.
- In what way is the Holy Spirit inviting you share Bob’s testimony with the people you just listed? For example, phone call, email, text, visit, etc.
- When is the Holy Spirit prompting you to contact each individual?
- Do you have any doubts about praying for healing? If so, make a list.
- Are there any fears that are coming up as you prepare to share this testimony with the people you listed above? If so, make a list.
Remember, Jesus never called the disciples experts, but He did exhort them to be become like children. Yes, you may have doubts and fears, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a risk and pray. After all, if you never pray for healing you will never see anyone healed. But if you take the risk, push past the fear, and pray God will do immeasurably more than all you ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20)!
The Lord wants to write history with you. There are testimonies that He wants to partner with you to see happen in the earth!
Prayer
Be encouraged that Jesus wouldn’t ask you to do anything He hasn’t equipped you for. Receive this prayer for boldness as you step out and obey Jesus’ instructions to heal the sick:
Holy Spirit, come and flood in with Your powerful comfort and love. We ask that You would fill every cell, from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet, with Your presence and resurrection power. Release the ground shaking boldness You gave the disciples in Acts 4 and activate the gift of healing.
May the Holy Spirit empower you with grace to overcome any fear of man to step out and share testimonies with those in need of healing and freedom. We believe that you will see “even greater things” (John 14:12) than Jesus did!
