Tasha Layton shared her testimony of attempting suicide, only to be rescued by God. She had sought fulfillment in all the wrong places until one day, she encountered Jesus.
Tasha Layton’s Church Hurt
Singer Tasha Layton grew up in church, with singing being her lifelong passion since childhood. She participated in choirs and worship teams wherever she went, whether in church or in school.
As a teenager, Tasha faced a painful experience that led her to question her identity. At 16, someone in their church spread false rumors about her. She told everyone that Tasha wasn’t a virgin and that she was trying to seduce people in church. The woman also accused her of having a Jezebel spirit and that she was going to split the church.

It later came to light that the woman who made these accusations suffered from mental illness. Despite being proven innocent, the incident deeply wounded Tasha, causing her to doubt herself. Subsequently, she distanced herself from the church and gave up music.
Attempted Suicide
Tasha wondered for a long time and tried to seek other religions. In search of peace and wholeness, she tried Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and even studied mysticism. However, after her exploration, she realized that these religions didn’t have any power to transform her life.
Still carrying emotional scars, Tasha ventured into other endeavors but fell into depression. Isolating herself, she reached a breaking point and attempted suicide, pointing a gun at her head in her college dorm room. Miraculously, when she pulled the trigger, nothing happened.
This moment made Tasha realize that God had a purpose for her. Recognizing that God intervened to prevent her from taking her life, she compelled herself to return to church. One Sunday, Tasha had a powerful encounter with God.
