A professor at Yale University taught his students how to live a meaningful life. And all the principles he shared came from the Word of God.
Professor Teaching Life-Changing Lesson
Young people go to college to learn many things about certain subjects applicable to the field they have enrolled in. They learn from different experts and professors in the area of study they are interested in. But a professor at Yale University is making a difference to his students as he has been teaching them life-changing lessons they will never forget.
Miroslav Volf is a professor at one of the best colleges in the country, Yale University. Apparently, he has been teaching his students more than just by the book—how to live a meaningful life.
Life Worth Living
In an interview with TODAY, Professor Miroslav explained his passion for teaching students essential life lessons. He also shared about a new book he co-authored, “Live Worth Living: A Guide To What Matters Most.”
“The goal is not to constantly think about what kind of life is worth living,” he told TODAY host Maria Shriver. “The goal is for that vision of a good life to become one second nature.”
Further, when the host asked whether hell would break loose if they would read his book, he replied, “yeah they may radically change the course of life.”
The professor’s first advice in the book was “reassess what you think makes you happy.” And he noted that most people define success by “how much money we earn and what things we can buy.” But the Yale professor explained, “Trouble with money is that pretty soon money morphs from being a means to achieve certain end, to being an end in itself.”
Furthermore, he shared how his Christian faith helped him find his life’s purpose. The professor shared on national television about the command in 1 Peter 2, which teaches to “honor everyone.”
He also added about the “importance of pain and suffering.”
