Teen’s worst year became the best when she heard God’s voice after a long time and witnessed a miracle before her eyes.
Worst Year Of A Nursing Student
Kahli Nguyen used to believe 2014 was the worst year of her life because of unexpected tragedies. She expected great things to happen that year. However, things just kept getting worse and worse each passing week.
The teen studied nursing in school and was supposed to graduate that year. She was hoping to land her dream job too. But unfortunately, the struggles within her family made it impossible.Kahli and her family struggled with “drug addiction, alcohol addiction, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, and all kinds of chaos.” As a result, the teen’s life also spiraled out of control. She failed all her classes that semester and her dreams were shattered.
But Kahli shared that the worst part of that year was not feeling “the Presence of God in that situation at all.” No matter how hard she cried and prayed, she couldn’t hear God.
Going Through Depression
Soon, anger and bitterness filled Kahli’s heart. And then, she experienced depression for the first time.
“I was crying more than I was smiling,” she recalled. “I didn’t even realize I was depressed.”
Kahli knew something was wrong with her, but she just couldn’t shake things off. Then one day during the summer, a friend invited her to join a missions conference. She showed up, but wasn’t excited at all. During the conference, God began to plant a seed in her heart.
Hearing God Again
Later, as the conference ended, Kahli heard God’s voice again after a long time. Her friend putting her luggage in the trunk of the car, but Kahli insisted on putting it in the back seat. But then, she heard God say, “leave it alone.”
Although Kahli felt annoyed, she followed God’s instructions and left the luggage. Then while driving, she talked with God. She told Him, “I don’t know what I can do for you. I’m broke, I’ve lost all my scholarships. I failed the semester. But so long as You are with me. And so long as I can hear You and feel You, I’ll do whatever You call me to do.”At that point, Kahli’s car suddenly broke down. And seconds after she got out of the car, it burst into flames. Her wallet and Bible inside the luggage in the trunk were the only things that survived. God had done a miracle for her! God had met her and began to turn her worst year into one of the best!
