About 100 kids in an orphanage in Eldoret, Kenya, have been worshipping God in desperation, and Jesus is tangibly visiting them every night at seven o’clock.
An Encounter With Jesus In A Little Orphanage In Africa
Christian author Dave Yarnes shared his powerful encounter with Jesus when he visited a little orphanage in Africa. And in that place, kids are hungry physically and spiritually. Dave went to help provide food. But when he asked Mama Joyce, the lady who manages the orphanage, “How are things going here?” her reply shocked him.
“Oh, they’re going great since Jesus came last Tuesday at seven o’clock,” she said.Kids Worships Jesus In Desperation
Mama Joyce saw Dave’s puzzled look. So, she explained, “oh, we were praying and fasting (code for they didn’t have any food). And all of a sudden, supernatural lights came on in all the little huts and all the kids began to glorify God and speak in tongues. And tell of testimony of God’s goodness.”
Still speechless and in awe of what he heard, Mama Joyce invited Dave to join them that night.
She told him, “He’ll be here tonight at seven. He comes every night at seven now.”
So, Dave prepared himself and joined the 100 kids and a few of adults as they started worshiping at 6:30 in the evening.
The author described how “the praise and worship was so anointed” as they sang their own songs to the Lord. Then when the clock struck seven, Dave fell to his knees.
“The Presence of God walked in that room so strong..” he recalled. “I didn’t want to climb on Papa’s lap and all that stuff. I hit the dirt and just said, ‘God, don’t come any closer.’”
Dave couldn’t bear the holiness of God’s presence. Later, he got the courage to ask the Lord, “Lord! why are You here like this? I’ve never experienced it!”
Jesus replied, “It’s their desperation that’s brought Me.”
