A mom recently switched her son from watching kid shows to playing worship sets. After a few months, she has seen a transformation in her three-year-old son.
From Kid TV Shows to Worship Sets
Lexie Thiery has been vocal in her journey as a Christian mother. She posts content about parenting lessons in ways God would teach her. And in one of her videos, she shared how her three-year-old son, Azariah, changed when she let the Holy Spirit invade during their screen time.
She said, “I stopped turning on a kids show everytime we decided to do screentime and started playing worship sets instead.”
Lexie explained, “Since we don’t do screentime often, I would always just put on the show Azariah likes most and not think twice because it’s both educational and not overstimulating.”
But it has been her desire as a mom “to create an atmosphere where her children can easily experience the Holy Spirit.”
So, one day, she decided to switch the channel to a worship set by the Christian worship team, Upper Room. They played it all day, and then Lexie noticed Azariah “lit up.”
Azariah would request her mom to “hold a mic” as he imaginatively played drums, just like what he was seeing in the worship set. And together, they would worship the Lord.
Today, Azariah requests to watch the worship sets instead of the kid shows.
Lexi said, “THERE IS NO JUNIOR HOLY SPIRIT. I pray my children grow up not only easily encountering the Holy Spirit but seeing how beautiful His presence is.”
She added, “Because the world is flashy, and it’s enticing, and even if they decide to see if all of the lights and cute things that are meant to draw them in, I pray their spirit remembers how the presence of the Lord is and will always be the most beautiful thing they’ve ever experienced.”
