Practicing Detachment

Certain individuals tend to develop strong emotional connections with their environment, be it people, possessions, work, religious duties, or accomplishments. While such attachments may be a source of joy and fulfillment, they can also turn into idols and negatively impact one’s life. In light of this, Angela Halili, an influencer and podcast host, recommends cultivating a sense of detachment towards everything. Her valuable insight could prove beneficial to those struggling with similar issues.

The ‘Girls Gone Bible’ host stated, “Practicing detachment means anchoring your identity in Jesus, not the world.”

Then she explained the dangers of being too attached to the world and advised on guarding one’s identity in Christ. She highlighted the importance of investing in God more than anything.

“When we invest our identity in anything other than Him, it can be taken from us, leaving us wrecked,” she said. “Detach from worldly attachments and anchor yourself in the unchanging love of God.”

Focus On Loving God

Angela also pointed out that we should focus on loving God above all. Otherwise, there would be certain unlikely consequences that come with it.

“And it’s also about practicing detachment,” she again stressed. “That’s why the only thing that you can love truly is Jesus and God and not the world. Because once you put your identity in anything other than Jesus, it can be taken from you. And when it’s taken from you, it absolutely wrecks you.”

“So, it’s just like detachment, detach from that person, that’s not my man, that’s not my girl, God has somebody,” she added. “I bless them, I love them, God protect them and send them on their way. That’s it.”

In addition to Angela’s advice, may every believer always remember what Paul said in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

God Is In Control Of A Surrendered Life

Many believe that God is in control of this world. However few understand that there is a devil who is in control of this world. God created the Universe and all that is in it. However Satan who God created rebelled and was thrown out and now rules the world. Therefore it is a fallacy to think that God controls the world. God can only control those who acknowledge Him as Lord of their life. When bad things happen to good people, we blame God! This is because we forget that the god of this world causes all the disease and destruction that we experience. God never intended any evil to affect us but sin caused the Fall and we suffer the effects.

Creation

In the Garden of Eden there was no sin. There was no sickness or suffering. This was God’s original intent for mankind. God created man with this plan in mind but He also knew that man would succumb to the devil and fall. He therefore planned to redeem man by sending His Son, Jesus, as a spotless Lamb of God to die for us. Yes, God is ultimately in control of all that happens, but He is not in total control at present.

Revelation

When we understand this we know we have to operate in His wisdom. First of all we need to receive His plan of salvation through Jesus. We then have to make Him Lord of our life. This means to acknowledge Him in all our ways. In this way we keep the devil out and fit in with His plan for our life. God has already planned what our assignment is on earth. All we need to do is fit in with His plan. This is the way we live our life on earth and experience His abundant life. Many fail to understand this and so continue to carry the burden of sickness and disease and disorder. Let us today make Jesus Lord of our life.

Billy Graham’s Last Message To America And The World – Before He Died

Seldom can we find a Christian leader whose impact can be felt by the whole world. Not to mention, a leader whose wisdom was sought after by many US Presidents.

In the 20th Century, Billy Graham was considered one of the most influential Christian leaders globally. His passion and zeal to share the truth about the Gospel of Jesus Christ brough thousands of people to Christ. Due to his passionate commitment to preach the Good News to the ends of the earth, he was involved with many ministries including broadcasting on both television and radio. According to Wikipedia, Billy preached to live audiences of 210 million people in more than 185 countries and territories through various crusade meetings, including BMS World Mission and Global Mission.

Rev Graham’s obedience to God led him to people of different backgrounds and he boldly shared the Gospel with them. But have you wondered why Billy had such a strong desire to proclaim the Kingdom of God? It was because he deeply understood what the Cross meant and why Jesus died for people.

Billy, when he was 95-years-old, delivered his last message to America and the world. Until the very end of his life, he talked about Jesus’ significance in our lives.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The Gospel of the Kingdom is the only message that changes people’s lives. Knowing the true meaning why Jesus died on the Cross—not the Cross that hangs on a wall nor the cross hanging around someone’s neck.

Billy knew that preaching the Gospel is offensive but still, he wanted to give people a chance to repent and come to God without watering down the truth of God’s Word.

“The Cross is offensive because it directly confronts the evil that dominates so much of this world. It’s offensive to people because it doesn’t suggest, it demands a new lifestyle,” Billy said.

However, it doesn’t end there, for the confrontation of sin reveals God who is willing to forgive all our sins.

Billy concludes that we are all objects of God’s mighty love, to the point that He gave only Son to die upon a Cross in our place. We deserve Hell and judgment, but Jesus took that all in our place so we could come to Him.

We will forever remember Billy Graham’s legacy to the world. Praise God for his life!

Believers Are Called To Be In The World But Not Of The World

This world is not our home. Our home is in heaven and we are just visiting down here. This may sound weird to some who live as if this world is all there is. In Christ we have been saved out of this world and become part of the Kingdom of God. Our Kingdom is of another realm. Jesus said this when he responded to Pilate and said His Kingdom is not of this earth. We too must live life like this, so that we can win many over to the Kingdom of God. However we don’t see this difference between the world and the church today. The church has allowed the world to lead the way rather than the our way round. We see this in all areas of life where compromise has caused the church to bend to the demands of worldly demands.

Present Culture

This is the challenge we face daily as believers. The present culture is anti Christ and we have to choose if we will conform or challenge. If we choose to challenge the system we will be faced with penalties. This may lead to loss of jobs and reputation. If we decide to take a stand on issues like abortion, same sex marriage or trans culture we will be faced with hostility. What do we do then? We are called to be light and salt in our culture. How can we be light and salt if we are no different from the culture we live in? We are called to be separate from the world in the way we lead our life. How can one work in a culture that has different values to one that we believe in?

Taking A Stand

These are challenges we will all face and we have to make a choice. I made a choice and got into trouble for it. However I took a stand and challenged the system. Many have followed and now we wait to see the progress in how the government will respond to the challenge. Believers have to stand up for what they believe in. Compromise appears to be friendly and tolerant but like the frog in a boiling pot will soon die. Light cannot mix with darkness. We can be friendly but if standing for truth offends than that will be a choice we have to make. The Kingdom of God will suffer violence but we must stand and be firm in what we believe. There is no other way to resist the slow tide of decay and demoralisation.

A young girl born with a heart outside her chest inspires the world with her bright and positive outlook despite her condition.

For 11-year-old Virsaviya Borun-Goncharova, life has been difficult as she was born with a very rare condition. When doctors found out during her mom’s pregnancy that the baby had a Pentalogy of Cantrell, they suggested abortion. Because it is a condition where her heart is outside her chest. Hence, her heart is too exposed that her rib cage and abdominal muscles cannot protect it. According to medical science, Virsaviya’s condition “affects only 1 in a million live births.”

Trusting God And Keeping Her Baby Girl

Doctors also predicted that her unborn baby girl wouldn’t survive. It broke her deeply. But despite the heartbreaking news, the mom, Dari, decided to keep her and fight for her baby’s life. Perhaps she trusted God amid the harrowing ordeal. The mom even has a tattoo on her left shoulder, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” from Philippians 4:13. And indeed, although born with some complications, her daughter survived.

A Miracle

Today, 11 years have passed, and Virsaviya is a happy young girl living her best life in Florida. She defied the odds and proved the doctors’ predictions wrong as she is enjoying her pre-teen life. Every day, she can also do most things anyone her age would do without pain. And her mom is so proud of her.

“She truly is a miracle and I love the way she is,” Dari said. “She is absolutely unique, she is one in a million.”

Virsaviya still has to be very careful despite seemingly living a normal life. She needs to always watch out not to hurt her chest since nothing protects her exposed heart. But according to the report, the young girl always “wears a chest covering.” For in such a way, her vital organ won’t get damaged.

Also, the 11-year-old has conoventricular VSD. It is “a condition where she has a hole in her heart where portions of the ventricular septum should meet,” according to the outlet. Which makes all the more reason that she has to be more careful. Because sometimes, her oxygen level really gets low that she has to be admitted to the hospital.

But despite it all, Virsaviya remained positive and didn’t allow her condition to stop her from living the best life.

“Sometimes it can be difficult when my oxygen levels are low,” said the 11-year-old. “And I feel lightheaded and dizzy. But I love staying active and singing and dancing with my friends.”

Virsaviya is inspiring the whole world today with her story. And she remarked, “My heart is different, but it makes me completely unique and I love that.”

In her Instagram, the 11-year-old wrote in her bio the symbol of the Cross.

Missionaries Ask Entire World To Pray For Haiti To ‘Turn Back to Jesus’

After a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti on Saturday that flattened hundreds of buildings, homes, hospitals, and schools, missionaries ask the world to pray for the catastrophe-torn country.

On Saturday, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti. The hit collapsed and damaged many buildings, homes, hospitals, and schools in the country. Further, according to the report, at least 1,400 people were killed, and hundreds are still missing.

After the shaking, authorities expected possible aftershocks. They also expected floods since the Tropical Depression Grace was to make landfall late Monday. But despite the threatening situation, search and rescue teams continued. Also, a team from Fairfax County, Virginia, sent 59 rescuers and four dogs to help the Coast Guard and other U.S. agencies.

Haiti’s Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, says they are still in dire need of medical supplies and assistance.

In 2010, Haiti was also hit by an earthquake that displaced millions and took the lives of hundreds of thousands. And they are still picking up from that tragedy. But now, it’s heartbreaking that they were hit by such a disaster again.

Also, in July this year, Haiti President Jovenel Moise was assassinated.

Gloria Rapaka, the founder of Love and Hope Ministries, says the sequential mishaps have discouraged the Haitian people.

“Sometimes we look up and say, ‘Lord, how long?'” Gloria said.

Gloria leads Love and Hope Ministries to educate and share the Gospel with the Haitian and Indian people. But she stresses that the devastation in Haiti “goes deeper than a need for medicine, food, and water.”

“Help us however the Lord has put in your heart,” she urged. “Don’t forget to pray for the heart of the people to turn back to Jesus, because that’s the best we can give them right now.”

Let’s keep the nation of Haiti in our prayers always.

We live in a spirit world whether we are aware of it or not. This spirit world is an unseen world but the spirits in it also have a role in the seen world. The god of this world is Satan, who with his fallen angels operate in this world. However Satan dwells in the second heaven and has no access to the third heaven where God resides. God is in control of all things He has created. The demons are working in this world to take as many as possible to Hell with them. Satan and his followers are doomed to eternity in Hell. Heaven is for those who have chosen to follow Jesus, who came to save us from an eternity in Hell. We now have to choose which spirit we will follow.

Holy Spirit

Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to indwell all those who will call Him Lord. We are children of God when we choose to follow Him. However as long as we are in the flesh we have to choose to follow Him or the spirit of this world. Our flesh is tempted to give into its desires and follow the spirit of this world. We now have to choose whether we will do this or deny our flesh its desires and follow the Holy Spirit. This is the battle of the mind we have to fight daily in our lives till we die. We will all die one day unless we are raptured or the Lord returns in His second coming.

Discernment

When we give into the spirit of the world we will be led into all kinds of vices. The spirit of the world comes to steal, kill and destroy. Discern which spirit is leading you by answering this simple question. Am I giving into my flesh which steals, kills and destroys? All jealousy, pride, unforgiveness and hatred is of the spirit of this world. When we harbour these thoughts and feelings we give the devil a foothold in our life. Repent and be set free and live in the power of the Holy Spirit today.

Amidst the battle the world is facing today because of the pandemic, a heartwarming video of a 3-year-old girl praying for the world surfaced and touched millions.

The 3-year-old little girl who went viral for her adorable video is Arya. She has moved millions with her sincere prayer for the world, especially those affected by the Coronavirus.

In the recorded video, Arya encouraged the viewers to pray with her before praying to ‘Papa God.’ Then she prayed to God for the victims of the deadly virus. She also prayed for those suffering and those who are grieving the loss of loved ones.

She adorably uttered, “Dear Papa God, I know You’re there and mama says You listen. I’m very small and I’m sorry because today I will ask You for a little more than love and toys. Today I pray for the victims of COVID-19. Those who died and those they left behind…”

Further, she said, “Please Papa God, watch over the children who lost their parents… Please embrace them and make sure they are okay.”

The 3-year-old also remembered those suffering all over the world.

“Please Papa God, heal them and let them know that things will get better soon,” she added.

Moreover, she prayed for the homeless and the poor who have no money to feed their families. She asked God to bless them so they would never lose hope.

And, of course, Arya did not forget to pray for those on the medical frontlines of the Coronavirus as well. She told God, “I’m praying for the doctors who risk themselves every day, doing everything they can to save lives. The nurses who are working nonstop to help their patients feel better. The hospital staff who do their best to help. Papa God, remind them to eat, rest, when they can.”

What a beautiful prayer from a little girl! At such a very young age, she already knows how to pray. Such a blessing!

Following the chaos that stormed the Congress in Capitol, actress Patricia Heaton reminds Christians that this world “isn’t our home.”

Then one Twitter user pointed out how he understands her sentiment but refuted what she said, saying her comment “feels escapist to me.”

But the actress replied, “We are meant to serve Christ while we are here.”

Another Twitter user commented, “Exactly how I feel. Both sides are yelling, ‘wake up,’ while there are blind spots on both sides. I’m a moderate conservative [and] get called names [because] of that. That’s OK. I’m a believer in Christ first [and] follow Him. This world is not my home, so I’ll love Him [and] others till I get there.”

Moreover, one user testified how she was encouraged by the celebrity’s post. She said she “really needed to hear” it. Then she referenced the Scripture in Romans 12, “We are told not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our (own) mind. It’s very hard to get caught up with it all. It’s incredibly heavy.”

Patricia addressed his message on Twitter to discouraged Christians following the riots at the Capitol. Some protesters breach security and stirred chaos inside the building where the Congress convened to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory over outgoing President Donald Trump.

Following the tumult, several Christian leaders condemned the violence that stirred in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

Also, President Donald Trump condemned the violent act. He vowed to a peaceful transfer of power on Jan. 20 to Joe Biden.
