In Africa, children prayed for the nations by laying their hands on the world map to pray against the COVID-19 global pandemic the world is facing today.
In a Facebook post by Celia Mendes on March 19, she wrote, “In Mozambique, we still don’t have any confirmed cases of coronavirus but we are praying for all affected countries around the world!”

The post went viral with more than 50,000 shares now. And it has greatly encouraged thousands to pray amidst what is happening in the world today.
Kutsemba Ka Africa Project
Apparently, these children are from the missionary project Kutsemba Ka Africa (Believe in Africa) in Gumbane, Mozambique. According to Bibliatodo News, it is a faith-based initiative association “that provides assistance to children and people in need.” And Celia, the woman who shared the post, is leading the project. For 17 years, she has been a missionary in Mozambique.
Celia told Gospel Prime that the community in Gumbane is very poor. She said, “Some children only eat in our association. It is their only daily meal.”
Kutsemba Ka Africa project partnered with the district school to help the struggling children. They feed hundreds of them after their regular classes. And most importantly, they teach these children the Word of God.
Children Fervently Praying Against COVID-19
The video that went viral showed hundreds of kids fervently praying for the nations. They laid hands on the world map in front of them. Some even stood in tears while interceding. They are driving out the global pandemic COVID-19 through prayer in Jesus’ name.
Celia also revealed what exactly happened during that powerful moment of prayer. “We educate children about the coronavirus and mention the countries that are being affected by the virus. These children are already used to praying. They know God at that level and are prayer warriors. They embraced the cause, prayed, and cried,” she explained.
Childlike Faith
Undeniably, the video and pictures reveal what faith these little children have. Just as Jesus taught the disciples about having a childlike faith.
Matthew 18:2-4 in the Scripture reads, “Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.'”
This was so powerful!
