Marriages Crisis Because of Wife’s Christian Faith

Kent and Jessica Hadwood got married when they were still unbelievers. But after six months into their marriage, Jessica found Christ after her brother passed away. While this newfound faith brought her immense joy, it posed challenges as her husband grappled with the changes.

Jessica told Kent about her Christian faith and her desire to obey God in all aspects of her life. But during that time, her husband just kept silent. He found it weird that the person he married was gone. And now, he had to face a different person who was crazy about following Jesus. And since that day, their marriage has become rocky.

Tithing

But despite the situation, Jessica never got discouraged and continued pursuing the Christian faith. As she lived out her obedience to God, she began giving back a tithe of her income to God. Jessica then became faithful in giving because she experienced the blessing of surrendering her finances to the Lord. However, it became the point of conflict with her husband.

Kent found it unreasonable to give large amounts of money to the church as their finances prospered. He also reluctantly agreed to give a portion of his income. He was always unhappy about it and it created more tension in their marriage.

Spiritual Encounter

One day, as Kent attended one of the church worship services, an unexpected supernatural experience hit him. He heard a voice saying, “Go and get baptized.” When he heard that, he couldn’t help but cry. So, he went to the back of the church. He became so emotional that one lady in the church got worried and thought he needed an ambulance. But then he told her in tears, “I need to be baptized.”

On that day, Kent gave his life to Christ and he was never the same again.

A wife demonstrated remarkable forgiveness by pardoning the drunk driver who caused her husband’s death. Not only did she forgive him, but she also prayed that he would encounter Jesus and transform lives while serving time in jail.

Receiving The Horrifying News

On the evening of May 27, 2021, a Thursday, Daphne Brazil grew increasingly concerned when her husband, Charles, did not return home for dinner. Both she and their daughter repeatedly tried calling him, but received no response. As the clock ticked towards ten o’clock in the evening, the arrival of the police at their residence heightened her anxiety.

Daphne stepped outside and encountered the police officers, who proceeded to deliver the devastating news about the tragic accident involving Charles on the road. According to them, a drunk driver had struck him, leading to his untimely demise. Overwhelmed by the heartbreaking news, the wife found herself at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond. Fortunately, upon learning of the incident, their family and friends swiftly gathered at their home, providing much-needed support during this difficult time.

Turning To God

Initially, Daphne struggled to accept the harsh reality of the situation, finding it difficult to sleep. In her desperation, she turned to God, seeking solace for the overwhelming emotional pain that consumed her. Finding solace in the silence, she actively listened to God, allowing His comforting presence to provide relief and consolation.

Even in the face of such a tragic accident, Daphne harbored no resentment towards the drunk driver responsible for Charles’ death. Grasping the concept of God’s forgiveness, she genuinely embraced the decision to forgive the man.

“The pain and the hurt was still there. But I knew that I had to let God do His job,” she recalled.

Forgiving The Drunk Driver

In the months following Charles’s passing, the entire family leaned on God for strength as they navigated through their grief. Day by day, they found solace in God’s Word, relying on its comforting and guiding principles. Daphne expressed that throughout this process, she never felt alone due to the abiding presence of God in her life.

In 2023, a significant moment unfolded as Daphne confronted the man responsible for her husband’s death. She read aloud a heartfelt letter in which she conveyed her forgiveness towards him. She even prayed that he would “turn his life around while he’s in prison.” Daphne also told him “that God loves him and God has mighty plans for him.”

In one of Pastor Mark Driscoll’s preachings, he addressed a big myth to men about marriage. He shared a piece of advice with them to keep their marriage strong.

“Men, date your wife before someone else does,” he said. “You dated her to marry her. Keep dating her to stay married to her.”

A Big Myth To Men

The pastor stressed that men should never stop pursuing their wives, even after he married her. He also remarked that some men believe in a myth that after marriage, it’s all done. As a result, many men stop pursuing their wives.

“If you got dressed up and spent money and made plans and flirted with her to get married, keep doing those things to stay married,” he explained. “This is the big myth for men. They think that marriage is a finish line. It’s not, it’s a starting line.”

“A lot of guys love pursued like “I’m so excited, now we’re married, I’m done.” No!” he continued. “That’s the starting line. Then as a man your energy, your desire, your passion has to be intensely devoted toward your wife.”

As Pastor Mark wrote in his Instagram post, “Marriage is not an excuse to stop working on your relationship.”

On October 15, Pastor Vlad Savchuk and his wife, Lana, shared a wonderful news. After 13 years of praying and waiting, they are finally pregnant!

Pregnant After 13 Years

Pastor Vlad and Lana announced on social media three days ago that they are finally pregnant. The most remarkable thing they shared was how God fulfilled such a promise to the couple.

Vlad recounted the past 13 years they waited and prayed for a baby. The couple is passionate about reaching the next generation since God had called them. But apparently, the two couldn’t conceive due to medical reasons.

Made Peace With God’s Purpose

Despite the news, Vlad and Lana made peace with whatever happened. They surrendered to God and continued faithfully serving the Lord.

“When we say we made peace, it doesn’t mean we surrendered to our circumstances,” Vlad explained. “It doesn’t mean that we just accepted things the way that we are. We just simply said that we will prioritize God’s purpose and God’s presence in our life regardless of what’s going to happen.”

So, that’s exactly what Vlad and Lana did. They fixed their eyes on God and allowed Him to move mightily for the past years as a couple. Vlad immersed himself in God’s ministry, supported by his wife.

The Journey

Furthermore, the pastor shared points on their journey while waiting for God’s promise.

“Number one is to be at peace in the process,” he said. “Number two is don’t surrender to your surroundings, do not be conquered by your circumstances.”

Vlad explained that they did this through surrendering to God’s will. They humbly walked with God, trusting that He had a purpose. But during the waiting period, they also never stopped praying.

“In whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, God’s purpose will be accomplished,” he remarked.

And 13 years later, God gave Vlad and Lana a baby.

“Remember this in choosing a husband or wife if you are unmarried,” J.C. Ryle said. “It is not enough that your eye is pleased, that your tastes are met, that your mind finds congeniality, that there is amiability and affection, that there is a comfortable home for life. There needs something more than this. There is a life yet to come.

Think of your soul, your immortal soul. Will it be helped upwards or dragged downwards by the union you are planning? Will it be made more heavenly, or more earthly, drawn nearer to Christ, or to the world?”

Listen To The Holy Spirit

The message has blessed thousands, reaching over 26,000 engagements from followers. One follower named Gina Gomez shared her story in the comments, affirming J.C. Ryle’s advice to singles.

Apparently, Gina experienced deception in her marriage that led to separation. At first, she thought she married a great man of God. But later, she discovered he wasn’t who he portrayed to be.

She wrote, “You know what’s crazy about this is that I thought I did find a good partner who loved the Lord and helped me in my walk, encouraged me to be closer to Jesus. And I found out recently that he had been molesting my daughter since she was 5.”

Gina couldn’t believe what her husband had done and sought God for comfort and guidance.

“Now I no longer have a husband and don’t want one after this,” she added. “I can’t trust anyone now. But one thing for sure is that my walk with the Lord has never been closer than before.”

Sh advised the singles, “Not saying this will happen to you but it can and it’s best to listen to the Holy Spirit and not just to fulfill your carnal needs.”

Choosing who to marry is the second most important decision a person will ever make in this lifetime, next to following Jesus. If you are single and desiring to be married, start praying and let the Lord lead you to choose the right person.

Ministry Founder And Wife Shares Prayer Points To Pray Over Husbands

Vanessa Martindale, co-founder of Blended Kingdom Families Ministry and wife to Scott, shared a helpful guide for wives on what to pray over their husbands.

Vanessa and Scott have committed to equipping marriages, breaking the generational cycle of divorce, and uniting blended families with the truth of God’s Word.

The couple believes that prayer is one of a believer’s weapons against the plans of the enemy. And so, Vanessa gave a list of Biblical references on what to pray for the husband.

Prayers To Pray Over Husbands

  • Pray that he would be a man after God’s own heart.

Acts 13:22 reminds us how David pleased God because of his heart. He was called “the man after God’s own heart.” In the same way, pray for your husband that he will become a man who pursues God’s heart above all else.

  • Pray for him to have the mind of Christ – renewed and discerning.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

  • Pray that he would be strengthened and protected from the schemes of the enemy.

The enemy aims to destroy marriages and families. But we are not ignorant of his schemes. Claim the promise of God’s protection and help so none of his attacks will prosper against your husband.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” (Psalm 28:7)

  • Pray for him to have strong, Godly friendships that would encourage and build him up.

Proverbs 27:17 proclaims, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”

  • Pray that his joy would increase and that he would abound in hope.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

Vanessa encouraged fellow wives to press in and step out in faith in declaring God’s power over their husbands. She said, “One of the greatest gifts we can give our husband is the gift of prayer.”

Tony Evans Announces Engagement With New Fiancé, 4 Years After The Death Of His Wife

Four years after his wife’s death, Pastor and Author Tony Evans announced his engagement to widow and close friend Carla Crummie.

Crosswalk reported that Pastor Tony Evans is getting married again to Carla Crummie who is also a widow and a close friend. When  he made the announcement everyone rejoiced with him.

Announcing To His Church

The senior pastor announced his engagement to Carla during his 74th birthday celebration at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship church. His “four children, Priscilla Shirer, Jonathan Evans, Anthony Evans Jr., and Crystal Evans Hurst,” stood beside him as he revealed the news.

“As I come up to the fourth year of the loss of Lois, my wife of 49-and-a-half-years, it is a tender time,” Tony said. “There are reminders everywhere of her life and her influence on me, my family, and this ministry.”

Then, he shared his journey with grief over the years after losing his beloved wife.

“We are a very close family,” he shared, “and all that has happened in my life, family, church, Urban Alternative, books, tapes, everything, has been defined by [Lois], so we’ve had over these four years the ups and downs and the roller coaster of emotions, sometimes high, sometimes low, but it comes with it.”

Further, he added although the loss was painful, they “put it in the hands of a sovereign God.”

“As I worked through the ups and downs of singlehood, God, in His sovereignty has brought someone into my life,” Tony said. Everyone cheered at the announcement.

Be Respectful

His new fiancé has walked a similar path. She also lost her husband several years ago.

“As I’ve tried to share the ups and downs of my life with you,” he said. “I wanted to share this and give you the opportunity to meet my new fiancée, Miss Carla Crummie.”

Tony stressed for everyone to “be respectful to others who were still grieving the loss of Lois.”

“It’s a sensitive time,” he explained. “During a time like this, you’re also reminded of loss. And so I want your sensitivity as you pray for me as we walk through this journey, as she walks through the grief that she’s had to walk through.”

“Just pray for us,” he encouraged the church. “This [has] already invoked some grief in some people, which I can understand because we’re reminded about the fingerprints.”

Tony also shared how Carla is “high in honoring her [Lois] legacy here.”

In Ephesians 5 Paul explains that the husband should be the leader of his family. God has designed men to be leaders. However, many husbands today are afraid or unable to lead their families. When that happens, it is often the woman who takes on that responsibility.

“Adam was supposed to tell Eve. He was supposed to be the spiritual leader, the head. What happens is when the man doesn’t lead, and the woman says, ‘Okay if you won’t lead, I’m going to lead here. Take this fruit, eat it. I think you should do what I do.’ And now look what happens. So when there’s that kind of imbalance in our marriage. It all falls apart,” the Grace Prosser said on her Instagram post.

Husband’s leadership

Men of God should be confident and bold enough to lead their families, that’s how God designed men. He is the one that gives the strength and wisdom to fulfill that role.

“So what I’m hearing you say is that you want me to lead. As a woman of God, at least you desire your husband to lead,” her husband answered.

Women of God, don’t be afraid of man’s leadership.

Grace went on to share, “Because I’m not threatened. I know who I am, I know who God’s called me to be and I’m not threatened by your leadership. I’m not threatened by you being the head of our family and house. I’m not threatened by you being the king because I know I’m the queen.”

God Restores Broken Marriage As Wife Holds On To The Word Of God

God incredibly restored the broken marriage of a wife who sought Jesus with all her heart. She chose to turn to God to restore her marriage.

Broken Marriage

Sheila Ramos’ life suddenly crumbled one day when her husband told her he no longer wanted to be married. She was six months pregnant with their second child at that time. She felt dumbfounded by the heartbreaking news. But the following day, God promised her that He would restore her marriage despite the seemingly hopeless circumstances.

As a result, Sheila did everything she could to fight for her marriage. She prayed and fasted and claimed the Word of God. But despite it, the divorce pushed through, and she was disheartened.

My Maker Is My Husband

At that point, Sheila was unsure if God still wanted her to hold on to His promise or let go. And as she randomly opened her Bible, it opened to Isaiah 54.

“I just remember reading that the God of the whole world, the Universe, my Maker, my Creator was also called my Husband,” she recalled.

The Word of God pierced Sheila’s heart and she wept. It opened her eyes to the truth that God is her husband. Since then, her relationship with God has gone deeper.

CHRISTIAN COUPLE DISPLAYS CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER DESPITE LOSING BAGGAGE

As a single mom, Sheila took God’s revelation seriously and considered God her husband. She no longer felt alone; every day, she felt the presence of God so strongly in her life.

“For the first time, my secret place.. my intimate moment with Him,” she recounted. “And I would just sit there and we would talk. And I would tell Him all these things just like I would tell my husband.”

God has become her husband, her provider, her everything.

Then God spoke to her again that His promise to her still stood, andthat  she needed to hold on to His Word.

“That I needed to hold on tight to Him, and trust Him,” she said. “And allow His Word to bear fruit in my life.”
So, Sheila trusted God with all her heart despite the impossibilities.”

She held on until one day, her husband, whom God also encountered, returned home.

Chile Pastor & Wife Sold Their Car To Fly To Asbury Revival In The U.S.

A Chile pastor and his wife sold their car and flew to the United States to be a part of the revival happening at Asbury University in Kentucky.

In a recent post by Jim Garlow on Facebook, he shared an update about the revival in Asbury. He also revealed the Christian leader who prayed at Asbury, which sparked a revival in the University decades ago. Apparently, a revival also ignited at Asbury in 1970, and Jeannine Brabon “was the leader of the original prayer ‘spark.’” She became a missionary at Columbia.

Jim shared that the missionary was in Wilmore, Kentucky. She called him from Asbury and reported that “there were 25,000 people at the Outpouring” last Saturday.

“The line stretched one mile to get it and that the Asbury revival was reported in 1 billion TikToks,” he wrote.

Chile Pastor And Wife Sold Car To Travel To Kentucky

Jim also shared that Jeannine met a pastor and his wife, who came from Chile, South America. They traveled far from Chile to witness God’s mighty moving in Asbury. But what’s more impressive, “they sold their car so they could come.”

Then Jim remarked at the end of his post, “a hunger for God will cause you to do things you do not ordinarily do.”

The testimony inspired thousands because of what the Christian couple from Chile did. A Facebook user named Oni Roberts wrote, “He Is Here! May those who sacrificed have it returned to them. The Chilean family who sold their car to travel to Asbury will see their needs met more than they could have imagined. Favor comes from simple obedience!”

Another user, Ted Baehr, wrote, “May the revival grow and continue. Other countries are having mini revivals. Only God knows what the future holds.”

As the world watches what God is doing in Asbury, He is stirring the hearts of His people back to Him. One after another, news of powerful testimonies has been making headlines since the revival started on February 8.

What an incredible outpouring of His Spirit!
