Yesupadam is an ‘untouchable’ believer in India who is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus, specifically with different tribes.
But he has been heavily persecuted for his faith.
‘Untouchable’ Indian Believer
Yesupadam, which means ‘Jesus Foot,’ grew up in a poor, remote village in India. God has powerfully used the life of an ‘untouchable’ Indian man to reach the tribal people in the country.
He received the label “untouchables” under India’s social caste system . They were deemed unable to be “touched.”
This was the reason why Yesupadam’s heart was far from God.
But everything changed when he saw Jesus in a heavenly vision. When it happened he saw the Savior nailed to the cross, blood streaming from His wounded hands.
And in an audible voice, he heard Him say, “Son, I have done all this for you; what will you do for Me?”
‘Untouchable’ Indian Believer Persecuted For His Faith In Jesus
The experience with Jesus changed his life in an instant. He responded by surrendering his life and beginning to tell his people about Jesus.
However, it wasn’t easy. He was persecuted and rejected many times. Yet he knew how great Jesus was and wanted everyone to know.
When Yesupadam suffered harm, he had a deeper revelation of the Cross.
He specifically shared about a time when he was stoned by the people he was trying to reach.
“I watched them bending down and picking up the rocks. I still didn’t believe they would honestly hit me with the rocks. Then, one guy threw the rock. Rocks started hitting me. And I touched my head, and I saw there was red blood,” he recalled.
The Love Of Jesus
The incident didn’t scare Yesupadam. In fact, he was honored to do such a thing for Jesus.
“Blood was not new to me. I saw the blood of many people. But this blood is my blood for my Jesus who gave all His blood to me. When that thought hit my mind and my heart, there was a joy inside of me to the point I was smiling outside, though it was painful. Hurtful. My bones were broken here [hand], not only my head. And I showed them the blood, and then I told them, “I’m not angry with you. I love you because Jesus loves you,” he said.
