A Thy Kingdom Come Christian Prayer Festival is to take place on Pentecost Sunday, 9th June, 2019.
The event will mark the culmination of Thy Kingdom Come 2019, the annual prayer campaign launched by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, in which Christians are invited to pray for their friends and family to know Jesus Christ.
Last year saw churches from over 65 denominations in 114 countries taking part in the 10 days of prayer, from Anglicans to Catholics, and Orthodox to Methodists to Pentecostal or non-denominational. This year even larger numbers are expected to take part.
Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Matt Redman is performing, along with Kingdom Choir, made famous by their outstanding performance at the wedding of the Duke & Duchess of Sussex last year. Brighton based singer-songwriter Lou Fellingham will also be performing, as well as Sounds of New Wine Gospel Choir (pictured below), which has just been awarded the Premier Gospel’s Best Newcomer Award.
It starts at 12 noon, where there will be an event for families which Thy Kingdom Come describe as a fun, high energy worship festival with traditional and modern music.
At 4pm, Christians from churches across London will gather to pray with Archbishops and church leaders including Bishop of London Sarah Mullally DBE, who said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for Christians to gather together in an iconic part of our great city to worship Christ, to seek His will and to pray for His kingdom to come.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby will be there too, along with the Archbishop of Westminster Vincent Nichols, Archbishop Angaelos, Coptic Orthodox Archbishop of London and Pastor Agu Irukwu, chair of the Redeemed Christian Church of God UK.

The Rev Trey Hall from the Methodist Church said: “I am honoured to represent the Methodist Church, a major partner of Thy Kingdom Come. I hope that diverse Christians of every background and belief will join us and invite friends to come along, too.
“The festival is for children and families to worship God, find out more about Christian faith, and have fun!
“We’ll also join together in prayer that the nation will flow with God’s justice, joy, and peace.”

What is Thy Kingdom Come?
It is a global prayer movement which invites Christians around the world to pray during the 11 days from Ascension to Pentecost (30th May – 9th June 2019). Since its inception, it has been celebrated at events in churches and cathedrals around the UK.
