Christian Weightlifter
Mallory Faith Garza is a Christian weightlifter who loves to share God’s word. In one of her Instagram videos, she delivered a powerful reminder to every believer. She shared insights based on conversations with people who confessed to losing their passion for God over time. Reflecting on this, she sought divine guidance and heard the Lord’s message: “Their fire for Me only went out because they chose to no longer seek My face.”
Furthermore, God reminded her about what is written in Leviticus 24:2, “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.” The Lord instructed His children to continually burn for Him once He ignited the fire within them.
The Fire of God
Then, she provided an illustration to demonstrate God’s message. Sitting beside a fire, she explained that God initially ignited the fire when people were baptized in the Holy Spirit; this truth is written in Matthew 3:11. Subsequently, depending on how dedicated those followers were, they would determine the duration and magnitude of the fire.
She then highlighted, “I have to feed it with the right wood, give it enough oxygen, give it some lighter fluid.” The wood was like the word of God, while the oxygen that the fire needed was like the breath of God that believers received when they sought His face. And the oil would represent the anointing, which was the Holy Spirit. She mentioned that gathering those things would cost her.Living Sacrifice
First, she needed to gather the wood. Second, she had to sit beside the fire to keep an eye on it. Third, she had to buy lighter fluid. Those efforts resonated with her, especially in her walk with God.
“It will cost us our life and our free will. Because we’re reading, we’re praying, and denying our flesh even when we don’t want to,” she remarked.
Moreover, she emphasized that walking with God means presenting one’s life as a living sacrifice. As stated in Leviticus 6:13, this would require a fire that continually burns. She then emphasized that there is no such thing as a lukewarm fire. One may either have a fire or none at all. She concluded, “It is impossible for your fire to not continuously grow if you’re continuously sitting with the consuming fire that is God.”
