Karen Clark Sheard opens about the Gospel group “The Clark Sisters” journey towards success in their career.

For many, 2020 has been a difficult, however, for The Clark Sisters, this year was remarkable. This was the year when they watched their lives onscreen in the new film “The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel.” They were also able to participate in numerous virtual music and award shows in the past months.

Recently, Karen Clark Sheard opened up with Christian Headlines about their journey towards success and fame. She revealed that it was because of their mother’s sacrifices that made them become who they are today.
“We grew up playing in the Black church and having our mother take the role of being our director and manager,” Karen shared. “My mother sacrificed in getting us to where we are today as a group.”
The sisters’ church roots played have play a significant role in molding them to be the artists they are now. When asked about her thoughts about the movie, Karen reminisced their group’s journey.
“I enjoyed the movie,” she said. “However, I remember watching it thinking, how did we survive that?”

Journey
However, she still lovingly credited God for the journey they have all been trough.
“It’s all about who God has surrounded you with, which for me has been my sisters,” Karen added.
In regard to their career, Karen calls it God’s gift that should be treasured well.
“The gift that God gave me is not mine, it’s His,” Karen said. “God has fought a lot of my battles because I chose to keep and maintain the peace that He’s given me. We believe that God has given us a mouthpiece to use for Him and we want to use it positively for Him.”
