Each Sunday, as Melvin and the team conducted their meetings, he couldn’t help but notice two consistent attendees: a mother and her daughter who always sat quietly at the back. Both were deaf and mute, living in a world of silence, unable to partake in the praises or hear the comforting words of the sermons.
A Divine Prompting
Then came a service that would be etched in Melvin’s memory forever. He noticed that both the mother and daughter were crying silently in their usual spot. In that moment, Melvin felt a strong prompting from the Lord – it was time to pray for them. Trusting this divine nudge, Melvin gathered some of his classmates and approached the family with a heart full of faith and compassion.
As they began to pray, they whispered the name of Jesus into their ears. It was an act of profound faith, a humble request for a miracle. And then, something miraculous happened. The mother, who had spent her life in a silent world, suddenly began to utter a sound – the name “Jesus.” She was healed instantaneously, not just of her deafness but also her muteness.
