A woman who went through a divorce testified how beautifully God carried her through the mess in the middle of grief and questioning.
Questioning Amidst Broken Family
Clarissa grew up in church as her parents served as pastors for over 20 years. So, she grew up knowing Jesus from a very young age. But unbeknownst to the young Clarissa, the perfect image of her family would soon crumble, when her father turned his back on God. And before she knew it her parents were going through a divorce.

Questions started to fill Clarissa’s young mind. She began to get confused because the very person who taught her about Jesus and His righteousness was no longer serving God.
“Just a lot of questioning and a lot of confusion,” she recalled. “The questioning that occurred was God, how can someone dedicate this many years of their life and then walk away? Were you ever real to that person?”
Meeting Her Husband
But despite what had happened, Clarissa continued putting her faith in God. And then, in 2009, she met a man who won her heart. He was such a great, loving, and gentle man that she ended up marrying.

At first, she thought their marriage was good. Clarissa was giving her all to the marriage. But suddenly, things began to change in their marriage.
Husband Asks For A Divorce
One day, Clarissa left for a 16-day mission trip. Before leaving, she heard God say, “Your life will never be the same again.” Later, she felt something was off with her husband while she was on the trip. A day before she got home, he told her he had something to tell her.

When Clarissa got home, her husband asked for a divorce and revealed his unfaithfulness in their marriage. She felt so broken and devastated. Her dream of being married to her prince charming suddenly fell to pieces.
Clarissa tried to save her marriage until she finally surrendered to God and prayed the hardest prayer, “let Your will be done.”
