Tennessee nurses started their day by praying on the hospital rooftop amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Tennessee nurses
As medical workers around the globe battle the COVID-19 pandemic on the front lines, many of them are turning to their faith. As they see first hand the severity of the disease, they are turning to God to seek help. Similarly to how nurses from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee prayed right before starting their shift.
Angela Gleaves posted on Facebook about the powerful moment. On March 30, she and her colleagues gathered on the hospital rooftop to pray over the hospital employees.
“When you have a few extra minutes at work, you take the time to go to the helipad and pray,” Angela wrote in the Facebook post. “We prayed over the staff in our unit as well as all of the hospital employees.
Hospital rooftop prayer
Angela, joined by Sarah Kremer, Beth Tiesler, Tanya Dixon and McKenzie Gibson prayed over all other medical teams across the globe.
“We also prayed over the patients and their families during this trying time,” she added. “We also prayed for all of our colleagues around the world taking care of patients.”
As the wind blew while they prayed, and they felt the presence of God.
“It felt good to do this with some of my amazing co-workers,” Angela said. “We could feel God’s presence in the wind. Know that you are all covered in prayer.”
Medical team support
On behalf of the medical team, Angela acknowledged the love and support they have received through others.
“All the outpouring of love and support of companies donating masks and people sending these donations has just been beautiful,” she said in an interview. “We see it as God working through others and wanting to bless others.”
