Taylor Wall emotionally talked about people’s tendency to treat marriage as an idol. She personally realized that she needed to surrender this area of her life to God.

A Christian woman who loves to share Jesus, Taylor Wall, joined a Generation ONE Bible study in Los Angeles and discovered one of the idols that she had in her life. In the caption of her Instagram post, she explained what an idol truly was. According to her, it was anything that people come to rely on for some blessing or help in the place of a wholehearted reliance on the living God. She stressed that anything or anyone could be treated as an idol as long as people value them more than God.
For instance, marriage could be considered an idol if people treat it as something more important than God.
“You don’t think you don’t realize that this thing is becoming an idol. I don’t want to idolize anything because I love God. And He loves me, and His love is all that I need,” she emphasized

Marriage As An Idol
Furthermore, she recalled that before she started walking with Jesus, she was not familiar with what an idol was. She humbly admitted that it was difficult to acknowledge. However, the moment she decided to follow the will of God, she slowly learned to trust in His plans, especially during the season of singleness.
“Of course, God, I want to be a wife one day if it is in your plans. If it is in your will for my life… So, I’m laying it down today. I’m no longer idolizing marriage, and I will patiently wait on the Lord,” she declared.
Moreover, she also mentioned that marriage and relationships are beautiful, and God designed them for a purpose. That’s why she encouraged those who desire to enter this covenant to surrender everything to God and allow Him to move.
