Young Student Selflessly Adopts Abandoned Baby Found In Trash Bin: ‘I Took A Leap Of Faith’

A young student from Texas selflessly adopted an abandoned baby found in a dumpster home in Haiti, “I took a leap of faith.”

Abandoned Baby Found In Trash Bin

Jimmy Amisial went to school in Texas and visited his home country, Haiti, in 2017. Unbeknownst to him, that trip would change his life forever. He was 27 years old when he found an abandoned baby.

In a dumpster home, people found a baby in a trash bin. It created commotion in that place, and many people surrounded the infant. According to Jimmy, some were “arguing about what to do with this tiny baby.” But no one dared to open their arms and take the poor baby in.

“Everyone was just staring at him,” he recalled. “Not a single soul wanted to help. He was crying and had no clothes on, and I could see the pain in his eyes — I had to do something.”

A Leap Of Faith

At that moment, Jimmy felt a nudging in his heart to take care of the baby. So, he took him home with his mom and bathed the baby. They took care of his clothes, food and also to a doctor “to treat his ant bites.”

Soon after, Jimmy had to make a decision if he were to become the baby boy’s legal guardian. Hence, he spent days thinking a lot about it. He considered the weight of the responsibility of having a child since they are not really well-off financially.

“I was already behind on my university fees,” he recounted. “And my family has always struggled to make ends meet.”

Then Jimmy remembered his own story and felt compassion towards the baby without parents. He himself grew up without a father. So, he took a leap of faith.

“Something inside told me that this had happened for a reason — so I took a leap of faith,” he attested. “Sometimes you don’t have to know what to do, you just have to be ready, to do it.”

Today, the baby boy named Emilio Angel Jeremiah lived and is already four years old. Jimmy and his mom raised the young boy together. Although it became difficult for Jimmy to earn a degree because of his situation, he says “he has no regrets.”

“It’s been an incredible journey and watching him grow up has been so rewarding,” he remarked. “I’m very proud of him.”

“I’m glad I got the opportunity to transform his life from being abandoned in the trash to being a wonderful treasure. It’s been fun seeing him grow — he’s a joy to be around.”

Jimmy truly displayed the selfless love of Christ to the baby. He became God’s hands and feet for the needy. May God bless him even more!

A stunning blog post from a student at Harvard Law School is gaining attention as she boldly shares her powerful testimony of finding Jesus.

Compelling Blog Post At Harvard Law School

Marianna Marques, a student at Harvard Law School, shared a compelling blog post that rarely happens on an ivy league website. She boldly shared about faith, hope, and the redeeming power of Jesus in her life.

“At a young age, I gave my life to Jesus Christ,” the Christian student wrote. “At age 13, while I was reflecting on my life plans, I heard God’s voice (in my spirit) for the first time: ‘Those are your plans for yourself, not Mine.’ Although God says in Scripture that He has a plan for each of us, I hadn’t consulted Him as I had developed my own. I hadn’t trusted that His plans would bring me satisfaction — I lacked faith and wanted control.”

Then she continued, “But in that instance, I decided to trust Him and to surrender my plans.”

Boldly Sharing Jesus

Marianna shared how her faith played a huge role in her education journey. And in an interview with the “Edifi With Billy Hallowell” podcast, she revealed why she bravely shared about her faith in the blog.

“Admissions runs a blog called ‘Student Voices,'” the law student said. The blog site helps prospective students learn more about the Harvard Law experience. And when she heard the university was looking for students who would share, she immediately volunteered.

“I thought, ‘Well, I haven’t seen people really share the spiritual side to what led them to law school,'” Marianna said. “So, I thought it would be a unique perspective that would be worth sharing.”

Here is an excerpt of what she wrote on the blog:

“Finding our voice is powerful. My voice in particular does not come from me, from the news I watch, from the people I follow, or even from my friends or family. My life belongs to Jesus Christ, so I choose to allow Him to speak through me. When Jesus walked the Earth, many tried to silence Him and to stop Him from denouncing the corrupt religious leaders. They even killed Him, thinking that death would quench His voice. But when He resurrected three days later, He proved that His voice would never die. Instead, His innocent blood was spilled in the place of our guilty blood. He paid the price for our sins so that we could be free. Free from anxiety, depression, vices, anger, pain, trauma, pride, greed, and on and on. By asking Jesus to forgive us for all we’ve done wrong and by continually seeking Him, we are saved. We are set free from the pain of our past and worries of our present and future. We live forever (John 3). This good news is what my voice now proclaims.”

To Share The Truth

Marianna knew that doing what she could have risks of experiencing some pushback. However, she received a “lot of positive reactions” to her article.

“The devil doesn’t want people to know that we can have freedom, salvation, life in abundance through Christ,” she said. “I knew in that sense it would be a spiritual battle, but I knew that if God wanted the story to be shared that He would also make a way.”

Further, Marianna believes God brought her to Harvard for a purpose—to share the truth.

“The whole reason I feel like God brought me here is to spread His truth, spread His love to others,” she said. “And so I felt like this was a great opportunity to show what God can we do when we give our lives to Him and walk with Him.”

Marianna also revealed that she and other students pray for revival on campus. And she believes God is moving on the campus despite the odds.

“That’s what the enemy wants us to think — ‘Harvard’s doomed,'” she stressed. “That’s just not true. Not only is it not true, even if it were true, the church still has the authority that Christ has given us to push back the power of darkness.”

“God is there. God is everywhere,” she said. “He is moving.”

24-Year-Old Adopts Student And His Brother: ‘God Told Me To Do It’

A 24-year-old teacher decides to give up her entire savings for her student and brother after God appeared in her dreams and told her to adopt them. Hence she adopts them.

God’s Call To Teach Low-Income Schools

Chelsea Haley was a new teacher when she met her student Jerome Robinson. Apparently, she decided to join and teach in ‘Teach For America,’ a low-income school, in response to God’s calling.

In her class, Jerome has always been a “problem” child. The 12-year-old was so rowdy in her fourth-grade classroom to the point that Chelsea almost gave up the teaching profession.

Later on, the Christian teacher realized why he had been acting that way. She found out he had a terrible situation at home and has his baby brother, Jace, to care for. That’s when Chelsea felt drawn to help him. That’s when God appeared in her dreams and told her to adopt them. So, she adopted them.

Obeying God

Being obedient to God’s leading, she used up all her savings and her 401k to adopt Jerome and his baby brother.

“I never thought I’d be a single mom at age 24,” she said. “Especially of two boys, one of which was my 12-year-old student. And the other one who was only a year-and-a-half.”

It might seem crazy, but nothing is more important for Chelsea than to obey God, even if that meant giving up her life and earnings for strangers. So, she stepped out in faith and gave up everything.

“My faith played a huge role in this whole situation. And I really felt God calling me into motherhood,” she said.

After adopting the two boys, Chelsea had to pay the attorney’s fees. Hence, she spent her entire life’s savings, depended on credit cards, and deferred her student loans to raise them. As a result, the new mom got into debt. So, she worked hard and made sacrifices doing extra jobs to earn extra cash.

God Sustains After She Adopts Them

But today, five years later, Chelsea Haley says it’s all worth it. The now 29-year-old gave an update on what God is doing in her beautiful family. Jerome is now 17 years old, and his little brother is six years old.

“Being their mom is the greatest blessing of my life,” she says. “I get to wake up in the morning and love two little guys.”

Today, Chelsea paid off the $48,683.41 debt in credit cards and student loans.

“It doesn’t feel real yet,” she said. “It’s so amazing. I even logged into my student loans and it said, ‘Cleared. Zero balance.’”

Now, the mother of two plans to buy a home and save up for their college fees.

“It allows me to focus on the boys’ future,” Chelsea said. “Saving money for them, and not spending it on my past.”

Chelsea Haley did a great example of what it looks like to love unconditionally and live a life surrendered to God. Praise God for her life!

96-Year-Old Student In Italy Graduates With Top Honors

A 96-year-old man in Italy is making headlines as he graduates from a University in Italy, making him the oldest to ever graduate.

Giuseppe Paterno has faced many challenges in life including “childhood poverty, war and, more recently, the coronavirus pandemic.”

The 96-year-old grew up in a poor family – that’s why he never had the chance to study. But he has always been fond of books. As a child, he received only basic schooling.

Dream To Learn And Graduate

Giuseppe also joined the navy and served during World War II. And when he got married, he worked as a railway worker while raising two children.

He lived in a time that was focused on rebuilding after the war, so “work and family were the priorities.” However, one of Giuseppe’s dreams was to learn. So at age 31, he graduated from high school.

“Knowledge is like a suitcase that I carry with me, it is a treasure,” he said.

And even when he reached 90 years old, he kept pursuing his dream. Giuseppe enrolled for a degree in History and Philosophy at the University of Palermo.

“I said, ‘that’s it, now or never,’ and so in 2017, I decided to enroll,” he told Reuters in an interview. “I understood that it was a little late to get a three-year degree but I said to myself ‘let’s see if I can do it’.”

Oldest To Graduate From A University In Italy

Today, indeed, the former railway worker graduated from university. While receiving his diploma in their graduation, family, teachers, and fellow students applauded him. What’s more, “he graduated first in his class with top honors.”

When asked how it felt to graduate at his age, he said, “I am a normal person, like many others. In terms of age, I have surpassed all the others but I didn’t do it for this.”

Remember Your Teacher And Training, You Will Overcome

“This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalms 118:24) From this scripture, we can tell that God is the One true living God, for there is no enemy or human being that can create such a wonder, today. When God created today, He said it was good and it still is. I know we are facing perilous and testing times, but has this not been like this before? In these times of global testing, faced with COVID-19, uncertainty, the normal has been shaken and everyone has to adapt to and adopt a new way of living, staying at home and social distancing. It is time you remember your teacher and training.

Stand In Faith

Dear brothers and sisters, I want to encourage you that this is not the time to shrink in fear but to stand in faith on the Rock of our salvation. The time has come to remember your training and put it into practice. God always prepares His people for the battle before the test. Remember David had training of defeating lions and bears before he conquered and triumphed over Goliath the Philistine?

Remember your Teacher and training, going to Church, paying your tithes, trusting the Eternal Living Word, trusting the Living God, studying the Word, applying the Word, declaring the Word, feeding your faith, the goodness and faithfulness of Jesus our Teacher. The Word outlasts all these pains, troubles, tests and sicknesses that come to challenge us daily. However, when faced with troubles we can do all things through Christ who strengthens, equips, enables and empowers us through His Word, His Mighty Power within us and greater is He that is us than he that is in the world (see 1 John 4:4). We can pass this test, we can get through this, for God is with us, we will triumph in the works of His hands (Psalms 92:4).

Remember Your Teacher And Training

When we get through, we receive a testimony for the devil, sickness, cancer, COVID-19, debts, isolation, loneliness, mental illness, and destruction is already defeated, disabled and disarmed before they rise against us. We have to believe the Word of God for it is Eternal and Unchanging. Remember your training, for now, we face the test in God’s image and likeness and we have a testimony. We are covenant children of God. Remember who God is and who you are in Christ. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (see Revelation 12:11 NKJV) in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Assistant Principal Gets On Ground To Comfort Student With Special Needs

An 8-year-old student with special needs from Garfield Elementary School in Marion, Ohio threw a tantrum, so the Assistant Principal got down to his level just to comfort him.

In a Facebook post by Steph Compton, she wrote, “I absolutely LOVE this… LJ’s school has a new assistant principal this year… Mr. Smith… apparently LJ was having a “moment” and he got down on his level to help him out ❤️”

According to Inspire More’s report, LJ Compton has Down syndrome. He is said to belong in the autism spectrum.

A Rough Day For The Little Guy

The little boy had a rough day when the school’s afternoon bus arrived late. And as a result, he got down on the ground and threw a fit.

LJ’s mom, Steph, also revealed in the post, “This is why even though we live across town… LJ still goes to Garfield!!!”

Apparently, LJ lives across the town. They actually live closer to another school. However, she chose Garfield Elementary School “because of the care and attention their staff has always shown her son.” She described LJ as a happy little guy who almost always painted a smile on his face. But there were times that he gets overwhelmed and finds it hard to process his feelings.

And thankfully, during that afternoon that she was not around to comfort her son, someone took her place. Surprisingly, it was the school’s Assistant Principal!

Kindness Of The Assistant Principal

The mother plainly had no idea what happened. Until she saw a picture of her son posted by a student aide. Amber McKinniss commented, “I just had to snap a picture. It was the most amazing thing I’ve seen!”

John Smith, the longtime teacher, and newest Assistant Principal was captured laying on the pavement next to LJ. He was patiently comforting the little guy without hesitation in that dirt and all. The incredible educator went to his student’s level just to get through to his heart!

Soon enough, the photo went viral. John was commended for his dedication to providing a safe place for every child in their school.

“Mr. Smith was the best teacher,” one person commented. “So glad he carries that with him as a principal! Such a great guy!”

And another said, “Mr. Smith is one of my favorite teachers. He’s the best.”

“It’s really awesome to know from a parent’s standpoint that there are people that care that much about your child,” Steph applauded the teacher’s kindness.

School Honours Cleaning Staff During Student Awards Ceremony

Recently, a heartwarming story of a school honoring their cleaning staff during their annual awards ceremony is circulating the internet.

A Facebook user by the name of Nosipho Kweta posted about Reddford House School’s kind gesture towards their cleaning staff. She wrote:

“Today I attended my kids school awards. During the awards the school also honoured their workers by presenting them with hampers and gift vouchers donated by parents and staff. The workers received standing ovation. That’s why #I’m staying.”

Nosipho’s son is a student of Reddford House in South Africa. She attested how the parents and the staff worked together to recognize the men and women. They were given presents and gift vouchers donated by the students and parents.

The Workers Surprised Onstage

In the photo, the workers can be seen still wearing their cleaning uniforms onstage. They must have been very surprised, judging by their facial expressions captured in the picture. They did not expect to be honored on stage.

Student leaders then handed to them their presents. Immediately, the next photos show smiles on the workers faces; a sign of joy and gratitude for the school being mindful of their service. The crowd, consisting of parents and teachers also gave them a standing ovation.

Netizens Commended The School

Of course, netizens (“citizen of the net”) applauded the school’s initiative to acknowledge the workers’ efforts in keeping the school clean. Oftentimes, these people are overlooked and rarely honored.

Facebook user Adelia Myles said:

“Beautiful. The workers are the people that keep it all together. Well done.”

Another one by Meagan Carly Snuggs said:

“What a fantastic gesture.”

Alke Kruger said: “Love it. Unsung heroes in school environment. So glad to see this recognition”

What a beautiful example of honoring those often overlooked. The world would be a better place if we all could learn from these students. Respect and honor the dignity of every person.

Students Surprise Teacher Fighting Cancer

As the lyrics of the song “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” by Martina McBride go, cancer doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t pick an age, profession, or gender.

Mrs Adriana Lopez, fourth grade teacher in PS22 in Graniteville, New York, wasn’t exempt. She began the fight of her life against breast cancer in 2015.

At the time of her diagnosis, Mrs Lopez was a new teacher at PS22 who instantly connected with everyone. She shared her warmth, creativity and joyful smile with all she came across.

Battling with cancer is never easy, but praise God for sending people that surround us with the warmth of their comforting presence. Mrs Lopez found loving friends and students who were there for her during these tough times of her life.

In this video, you will see students singing from their soul! In their hand movements, facial expressions and swaying back and forth it is obvious they love this teacher because they sing this song with everything in them.

Mr B choral director for PS 22, shares that after dozens of treatments, with the comfort and support of family and friends by her side, Mrs Lopez is currently cancer free!
