Spiritual Warfare: Breaking The Powers Of Darkness Over Your Life And Others

The Lord gave me a powerful dream about breaking the powers of darkness. I will share three keys the Lord revealed in order to see a breakthrough. I believe it’s crucial for the Body of Christ to grasp these insights into spiritual warfare.

Before delving into the dream, I would like to establish a foundation. As believers, engaging in warfare is inevitable, but it comes with a prerequisite – our lives must be clean. When confronting the demonic realm and unclean spirits, being in right standing with God is non-negotiable. Demons capitalize on legal loopholes when they sense a believer is not in proper alignment with God. Take a look at the 10 Commandments to see if you are walking in holiness or not. God is not looking for perfection but those with repentant hearts who desire to walk in righteousness.

MY DREAM

In this dream, I found myself on a spiritual assignment called by the Lord to set someone free from the clutches of darkness. I was not freeing the person physically but spiritually. The setting was an abandoned five-story building. I ascended the stairs, running eagerly to the top floor. The entire top floor was shrouded in black clouds that were swirling around. I could feel an overwhelming presence of evil.

I was not going to step into the darkness, but I stood in the doorway boldly declaring, “I am a Daughter of the Most High God – In the name of Jesus, I command every spirit to leave.” However, my words seemed ineffectual, and a struggle ensued. I repeated the command, “In the name of Jesus, every spirit leave.” Nothing happened. I repeated the command again, but my mouth was afflicted, which was a clear manifestation of the power of darkness resisting the name of Jesus.

Despite the affliction, I persevered, declaring through a whisper, “In the name of Jesus, I command you spirits to leave.” The struggle was real, but after what seemed like an eternity, the breakthrough finally came. The darkness broke, giving way to clarity, brightness, and light. The dream concluded, leaving me in awe of the incredible power that comes with invoking the name of Jesus.

This dream held profound lessons, and I discerned three crucial key points for spiritual warfare:

1. Know Who You Are in Christ:

You are a son or a daughter of the Most High God. Understanding your identity in Christ is important. As sons and daughters of God, we possess confidence, purpose, worth, and privileges. Galatians 3:26 says, In Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith. This scripture reinforces our status as heirs through faith in Christ Jesus. This awareness empowers us to stand against the onslaught of darkness because our Father in Heaven has our back.

2. The Name of Jesus Holds Authority:

When engaging in spiritual warfare, declaring the name of Jesus is the ultimate weapon. Luke 10:17 states, that when Christ’s followers returned from spreading the gospel they said to Jesus, Lord even the demons submit to us in your name. As a believer, you must recognize the authority vested in the name of Jesus, using it to command change in your circumstances and destroy the powers of darkness.

3. Don’t Give Up in the Face of Adversity:

The dream revealed the heightened attacks from the enemy when believers stand firm. It’s a call to resilience and endurance. Despite afflictions, health challenges, financial struggles, or family crises, you must not waver. The enemy’s plan is to make you weary and weak so that you give up. Victory comes to those who press on, declaring the name of Jesus.

Knowing who you are, understanding the authority in the name of Jesus, and standing firm in the face of adversity are keys to breaking the powers of darkness. Remember, this battle will be tiresome, but God will give you the strength you need to endure. The bible says, there is a time and season for everything. Keep declaring the word of God in Jesus’ name, keep standing firm, and in God’s time – your situation will change, and the darkness will break.

Fasting For Deliverance From Evil Spirits

Matthew 17:21 NKJV- “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Jesus’ disciples had a really rough day in the ministry. They were casting out evil spirit after evil spirit but they got a wall this particular day. This particular day they ran into a evil spirit that would not leave. This was abnormal for them because they were used to every demon bowing at the name of Jesus. Why didn’t this demon leave they took this hard case to Jesus. As Jesus looked he discerned that their was something different about this evil spirit. The difference was the level of strength this demon had. He then made a statement that is very important in the ministry of deliverance. Which was that kind of demon. This stubborn spirit only will come out by a certain level of prayer and fasting.

All Demons Are Not The Same

Many times I have heard uninformed believers or ministers say things like all demons should just come out if you are really doing deliverance right. Or they will say deliverance should only take a few minutes per session. Sadly this is not true. Scripture shows us that all demons are not the same. Some demons just like angels have greater levels of authority and strength. Some spirits are more wicked than other spirits.

Luke 11:26 New Living Translation

Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before.”

What makes one spirit more wicked than another? The Bible doesn’t say but we also know that Satans kingdom is not chaotic as some think. His kingdom is very organized and has a ranking system. We see this also in scripture.

Ephesians 6:12 KJV

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So some demons you run into are weaker than others and have also not been inside it’s host as long. These spirits usually come out very easily and usually with little manifestations. I do not believe every deliverance will have a dramatic manifestation like the demon speaking. Some will and others want. What we are looking for in a deliverance session is the freedom of the person. Not the manifestation of the demon. Sometimes there are what I call deeply rooted or stubborn demons that refuse to let go of your life. You have to remember these spirits few your body as their home. Have you every been evicted? I am pretty sure it’s not fun. Eviction is embarrassing to the one being put out on the streets.

Well everytime you cast out a demon or do deliverance on yourself. You are evicting a spirit and making this evil entity homeless. They hate this. You also openly embarrass the kingdom

of darkness. Deliverance is the only ministry that openly embarrasses Satan’s kingdom. He hates this and this is why he attacks deliverance ministers and ministries so hard. So the sad truth is that most of us that struggled like I did with things like perversion, lust, addiction or any other stronghold. These spirits usually require fasting. I can promise you if you are coming out of something like pornography, fornication, or something much more perverted you will have to fast to receive freedom.

You Have To Fast

Fasting has become a curse word in our generation. I was brought up in the faith knowing that fasting was the key to the Christian life. My first mentor and spiritual mom taught me that you must fast to discipline your flesh and keep the devil out of your life. This generation has watered down the reality of fasting because we don’t won’t to sacrifice for our freedom. Fasting does something in us that causes the devil to loose his hold. Fasting weakens the power of flesh. Demons partner with the flesh. They hide in the flesh and these two war against the spirit.

Galatians 5:17 English Standard Version

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

When you fast your spirit man enters the driver seat as is the opposite usually. Most Christians spend most of their life in the flesh. Feeding the flesh and the spirits that are connected to it. For instance sexual sin is fleshly and demonic. Meaning even without evil spirits behind it. Man would still commit sexual sin but demons make it worse. Demons take that sexual sin to the next level from pornography to rape or incest. This is why we hast too fast. Most of the churches have a demon and a flesh problem. Fasting weakens the flesh making the demon weaker as well.

Once that demon weakens because demons gain power from the flesh. The deliverance happens quicker and with great ease. So what type of fast should you do? What every you feel led to do. Now I am old school though I am young. You need more than a tv fast to break these habits and devils. You need old school partial fasting. You need a all day or half of the day in which you eat nothing. Only drinking liquids or water. These are the most effective fast in bringing deliverance.

I believe the Holy Spirit wants to set you free but that there are stubborn deeply rooted spirits that have been with you since childhood. These spirits are evil and they are saying I will not leave unless you make me. They are at home in you and must be forced out by the fire and the finger of God. Fasting loosens the grip of the devil. It is the secret to deliverance from perversion, pride, witchcraft spirits and other wicked evils. Will you fast for breakthrough today?

The Unveiling: Thriving In Rest Amidst Spiritual Warfare

Today heralds a word of delivering power. The body of Christ is under a focused satanic assault. Unusual levels of darkness persist worldwide, but there is a divine assurance that a shift out of this intense warfare is happening today.

I felt Jesus say that today, He aims to convince your heart afresh of how safe, cherished, and deeply loved you are. His desire is to deepen your relationship with Him, stabilizing your faith and inner peace supernaturally. To bring you into confident, consistent rest, where you find yourself feasting on Jesus in the very presence of your enemy.

Jesus is stabilizing His bride to live and believe in rest, ruling from the internal seat of supernatural rest. The enemy is genuinely concerned about the hour we are in, but the Lord, in His mercy, will break off witchcraft, residue of unbelief, and religious spirit from you. Faith and interior rest WILL become your default position.

Ephesians 1:18 says “I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling —that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!”

Our normal interior life is one of peace, faith, and rest that comes from the victory of Him. Look at the enemies around you with divine perspective. You are now the ark of the covenant, the carrier of the King.

The Word is alive and active so expect a fresh revelation each time you approach it. When Jesus taught me about the power of intimacy, He took me into a battlefield. Amidst thrones and enemies, Jesus pointed to Himself, saying, “In the presence of the king, the enemy can see you but can’t touch you.”

I want you to meditate on sitting at the same banqueting table, eye to eye with Jesus. Live from this, feast on Him in the presence of enemies. Draw into increased ability to adore Him. We are being moved to experience this as our reality. See Him get up from the table and move around with a dance of joy and love, surrounding us. Breathe Him in, for the oxygen is the glory.

As you step into the upcoming week, breathe in the glory of His love. Allow the revelation of your identity in Christ to stabilize you amidst any spiritual warfare. Live from a position of rest, feasting on Jesus in the presence of your enemies. Remember, the light of His love dispels all darkness.

What Does The Bible Say

In the midst of life’s battles, it’s crucial to remember that your triumph isn’t just a possibility, but a promise in Christ. Colossians 2:15 declares, “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” This powerful verse unveils the victory you have through Jesus.

Take heart in the truth that Jesus has already won the battle for you. He has disarmed the enemy, rendering him powerless. Every strategy, every scheme, and every force of darkness has been defeated by the all-surpassing power of Jesus. You stand on the victorious side of the cross.

Let this assurance embolden your heart in the face of spiritual warfare. When doubts arise, when fear attempts to take hold, remember that the enemy’s defeat has already been secured. You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from a place of victory.

Ephesians 6:10-12 serves as a powerful companion to Colossians 2:15, reminding us to “be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” It further exhorts us to put on the whole armor of God, that we may stand against the schemes of the devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness.

Take your stand in the authority of Christ. Cloak yourself in the armor of God, holding fast to the truth, righteousness, and faith that secure your victory. With every piece of spiritual armor in place, you are not only protected but also poised for action. The victory of Colossians 2:15 is yours to claim and walk in.

Fighting The Good Fight

How do you react when life gets hard? Do you try to play your best and put in a reasonable effort, or are you tempted to give up and give in? Unfortunately, you’re not the only one tempted by those thoughts. Is it fear that compels you to give up? Never stop “fighting the good fight!”

We All Stumble!

There are various accounts of people turning away from God during spiritual Warfare. And yet many more came out victorious – like these: Isaiah tells us that a “godly person falls seven times” (Isaiah 45:3) before finally bowing to temptation and losing the fight against his fleshly desires.

David was a man after God’s heart and had his fair share of battling against his flesh. David often found the power to overcome temptation while “fighting the good fight” (1 Timothy 6:12).

We could also look at Joseph in Genesis 50:20, when he confesses, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Joseph knew both sides of spiritual Warfare well – having been put through it first-hand. He should know, too, how bitter it is to be betrayed by people and then sold into slavery by his brothers.

Preparation is Vital

The Bible tells us that there is a constant spiritual battle in the heavenly realms. Whether we realize it or not, we are involved in this battle and must be equipped. We will discuss Christian Spiritual Warfare and how to protect ourselves from Satan’s attacks.

To win our battle against Satan, we must put on the Armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:11-18. The Armor of God is an analogy described in the Bible. Each part of the armor protects us from Satan and his attacks.

Paul explains to us that we “put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” (Romans 13:14). God is telling us that we need to have a close walk with Him and be filled with His Spirit to resist Satan when he is attacking us.

How Does Satan Attack Us?

Satan attacks us spiritually using our emotions, and these are called impulses. These impulses come from a natural desire for fun, love, or money. These impulses are driven by the soul that exists in all human beings. The believer’s soul is good and has no control over evil impulses. The unbeliever’s soul is terrible and has all of its power to control the desires that come from it.

The soul’s need for entertainment drives the impulse for fun. We see this in children when they are playing. They control their instincts with the help of their parents. This is a good thing, but many children’s minds are not mature, and they can be easily led astray and begin to seek out negative influences to entertain them. These influences include television, video games, music, and even the people we associate with. The Bible says, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Wordly Demands

God made us out of His agape, so we must feel loved. We tend to fill that void with indifferent love when we do not find a solid and personal relationship with God. Satan and his agents frequently attack us because of his immeasurable love for His children. Our soul drives the impulse for love through our desire to be loved because we were created in love. We see this in teenagers and adults who want to be loved by their peers.

The need for love drives this behavior as it yearns for fulfillment. Unfortunately, many people make foolish choices, such as marrying someone to fill the void of loneliness. Never bypass the process God has placed to satisfy a fleshly and emotional demand.

Our soul drives the impulse to acquire money through our desire for things we want, such as lovely expensive things, good health, heightened social status, etc. One of the reasons why people get into debt is because they cannot resist buying items that make them feel better about themselves to become more attractive, or to reaffirm their social alter egos. The need for love also drives this behavior. Unfortunately, they seek refuge in a toxic or destructive form of love.

The Enemy’s Weapons

Satan uses these impulses to tempt us and make us give in to our desires. He knows what drives us, so he will use it against us to make us do things we usually wouldn’t do ourselves. For example, he tempts us with addictions, filling us with insecurity, fear, and isolation. Likewise, he will use music, social media, technology, family, or friends to tempt you.

In addition to using our impulses against us, Satan also uses deception. He will tell us sinning does not harm us because God is merciful and understands our weaknesses. This is a lie from the devil. There is no excuse for sinning because God doesn’t want people who are sinners in His Kingdom, but God doesn’t want anyone to perish in hell (2 Peter 3:9). God wants to save all humanity, including you!

Our Arsenal

Spiritual Warfare is not a fanciful notion or theory. On the contrary, it’s genuine and a constant reality for everyone encountering Satan.

The Bible tells us that there is an ongoing battle between God and Satan over each individual’s eternal destiny (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:1-11 that Satan tempted Him when He had fasted for 40 days. This was the first of many confrontations. We are told to expect it! Jesus said that we need to pray and resist temptation, using the Word of God (Matthew 18:9-15). Jesus also told us that we should expect persecution from Satan and his demons (Luke 22:31-32).

He also taught us how to fight this spiritual battle as we strive to live a holy life. We have the ability, through God’s grace, to stand against evil and overcome it if we fight the good fight (1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Timothy 2:24).

Affirmation

Ephesians 6:10-18, the Bible tells us how to “fight the good fight of faith.” “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:10-13).

Use the tools God gave you, pray, fast, and fortify your faith to prevail in the imminent battles before you!

Young Man Attacked By Satan In A Dream Warns Christians To Take Spiritual Warfare Seriously

Satan attacked a young man in a dream, and Jesus set him free. Soon after, he shared his testimony of overcoming two years of spiritual attacks and warned Christians to take spiritual warfare seriously.

Satan Tells Young Man To Give Up Jesus

In a TikTok video, Casey Snare shared his story of freedom from demonic spiritual activity. He shared about his genuine passion for Jesus and how he wasn’t spiritually mature at the time. He had TikTok as a platform with 20,000 followers to share God’s Word and would share even without deep knowledge of the Bible.

While he was building his social media platform, Casey suddenly had a weird feeling in his room one night. He then received a call from his mother, who warned him of a spiritual attack.

“You are about to be under a massive spiritual attack,” his mom said. “And the devil is trying to destroy you and uproot everything that you’re trying to do.”

That same night, Casey also dreamt of a “very tall handsome man.” The man told him, “I want you to give up this Jesus thing. Stop posting about it. Keep it to yourself.. Stop posting on things, I’ll make you rich more than you could ever imagine.”

But Casey immediately recognized the man and rebuked the enemy “in the Name of Jesus Christ.” The dream ended, and he woke up feeling anxious.

The Bible Is The Answer

In the short video, Casey shared a word of encouragement with his followers. He addressed those “experiencing mental illness, anxiety, and depression.” He wants to help those struggling with “thoughts of suicide and self-harm” who wanted to “find a close relationship with God.”

Casey stressed that the answer to life’s queries can only be found in the Bible.

“God has brought me before you today to tell you that He has a plan for you,” he said. “A divine plan for you.”

He testified the Word that set him free in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Spiritual Cost

Then Casey warned against people’s worldly lifestyle. And that it “has a spiritual front, a spiritual cost to you.”

“These are all traps, stronghold set for you to get you stuck to get you distracted,” he explained. “He [God] wants to end your captivity through spiritual warfare. You are in a conflict right now and you are being held captive in the spiritual plane.”

THE REALITY OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE AND DELIVERANCE IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

Casey also quoted Jeremiah 29:12-13, “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

“The answer is right here,” he said. “And God brought me before you to tell you the answers right in front of your face.”

Casey realized how Satan had taken him captive for two years.

“I destroyed my relationship with my wife, I destroyed my relationship with my parents, “ he added. “I destroyed my relationships with a lot of close friends.”

But because of God’s grace, he is being redeemed. Now, he’s encouraging other believers to surrender to God.

“God loves you and He sent me to you to talk to you,” he concluded. “I want you to know that God loves you and He wants to set you free.”

Fighting Back With Thankfulness

Thankfulness is one of my favorite weapons of warfare. The Lord has given us so many things to be thankful for. And if the enemy’s coming at you with fear, if he’s coming at you with discouragement, if he’s coming at you with, “Oh, God’s not gonna come through for you.” Oh, you know, all his little lies. One of the beautiful ways to fight back is to come in a spirit of thankfulness.

Everything that we thank the Lord for, I believe increases. I believe that the Lord actually is moved by our thankfulness. And there’s really such a deep capacity to be thankful to the Lord for. Number one, the cross. Number two, your health, maybe your family. Even your shoes, having clothes, your car, there’s so many things that you could just start naming off of thankfulness. That’s something that I love to do in my life. If I feel like the enemy’s kind of, you know, coming at me with some lies, or he’s trying to bring hopelessness in my day, or trying to stress me out, anything like that, what I love to do is just come before the Lord and thank Him for all the things I could possibly think of. I just start naming off, thank you, Jesus for this. Thank you Jesus for this. Thank you Jesus for this.

And I’ll just go at it until that lifts, until any ounce of fear or anything is just gone. And I just remember, “God, you’ve been faithful before, you’ll be faithful again.” I think it’s important to thank Him for what He’s done and know that He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So if God has been faithful to you in your past, He’ll forever be faithful in your future. And I love looking back, too, and thanking the Lord for what He’s done. If I’m kind of in a season where I’m wondering, “God, where are you going? What are you doing? What, what am I supposed to do in this season?” I can come at it in thankfulness and look at all the ways that I see His hand moving now, and how I’ve seen His hand move before.

It’s exciting, too, because God is always working behind the scenes. And so I like to thank Him for what He’s doing that I don’t actually see yet. I think it’s a way that I can activate my faith and thank the Lord that He’s going to come through, because He’s done it before and He’ll do it again.

Another beautiful thing is to thank Him for what you’re seeing Him do in other people’s lives around you. I think it’s important to keep that heart of celebration and to be able to thank God for what you see Him doing in those around you. Because the more that we thank the Lord, the more that I believe our love for Him grows. And I think that it also brings Him pleasure and it’s beautiful for your connection and relationship with the Lord to just stay in a posture of thankfulness.

The enemy is a liar in anything that he says, it just holds no weight. And the only thing we need to worry about is who Jesus is and what He said, what He’s doing, and just be thankful for how the Lord is moving in our lives and how we can be vessels for Him to move through as well.

So I want to encourage you today to find things that you can be thankful for. Posture your heart in a place of thankfulness and thanksgiving, knowing that He who promised is faithful and that we can trust God, that He never changes. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.

We are so blessed by our partners around the world who faithfully give to GOD TV. It humbles us when we receive donations from around the world, from people who’ve been blessed by the ministry of GOD TV. You know, we are called to preach the Gospel to all the nations of the earth, and we cannot do this without you. So I want to invite you today to give generously to GOD TV, so that we can continue airing the Gospel of Jesus to the nations of the earth.

Laughter Is A Weapon In The Kingdom

The Kingdom of God is not like any other Kingdom. Many say it’s the “upside down” Kingdom, but it’s actually the way things were intended to be before the apple was eaten.

Kingdom Weapons

2 Corinthians 10:4 best describes the weapons of the Kingdom of God, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” We see here that the weapons that God has given us have two unique attributes – “divine power” and the ability to “demolish strongholds”. They are not like the weapons of this world!

Laughter Is A Weapon

Psalm 2:4 says, “The One enthroned in Heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.” The Lord is demonstrating the use of one of His Kingdom weapons as He looks down on the nations.

Jesus didn’t come to earth as a Warrior King. He came as a baby. This in and of itself reveals that His Kingdom is not of this world. As mentioned above, the weapons of His Kingdom have divine power and can demolish strongholds. Thus, things like laughter, peace, patience and joy become weapons full of divine power that have the ability to demolish strongholds.

Demolishing Strongholds

Are you facing any “strongholds” in your life? Strongholds are simply places in our lives where we feel stuck. We can’t stop doing that thing or start doing something we’d like to be doing. What if you began to wield the Kingdom weapon over that are of your life? Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that faith is “being sure of what we hoped for” and “certain of what we do not see.”

What if, by faith, we used laughter to begin tearing down the strongholds in our lives. How about doing the same in the lives of those around us! Peter, by faith, stepped out of the boat and walked on water.

What would happen if you and I stepped out of the proverbial boat? How would life look if we began to intentionally use the weapons of the Kingdom?!

The Reality Of Spiritual Warfare And Deliverance In Your Everyday Life

Many do not understand the difference nor the importance of spiritual warfare and deliverance in our modern day. We think if we just focus on Jesus and be good Christians the devil will just leave us be. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. The bible tells us that the moment we entered the kingdom that we entered a ancient spiritual battle that has been raging for decades.

2 Timothy 2:4
No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

This verse says that we have been enlisted into a spiritual military and because most Christians are ignorant of this there is much and many casualties taking place daily across the body. The battle we have entered into is not one of flesh and blood but one against principalities and powers( Ephesians 6:12). This battle is one of great significance many will spend either and eternity with Jesus or separated from Him based on the outcomes of our everyday warfare. So let me define spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare in short is everything to do with victorious Christian living. So deliverance is a huge part of spiritual warfare. Every time a demon is casted out we are engaging in a spiritual war. Spiritual warfare is daily victory of the forces of hell. Understanding this will change your paradigm because many think spiritual warfare is about demons and devils. No! Spiritual warfare is about you walking victoriously as a believer which is almost impossible if you are oppressed and constantly losing every battle in your day to day life. So then if this is true why the do so many separate spiritual warfare and deliverance. One quote from a unknown author says it this way:

Deliverance will give you rest, and spiritual warfare will give you the training, strategies, and endurance so that you can live abundantly under the covenant blessings of God.

For practical purposes I would consider spiritual warfare as covering prayer and ministry that is intended to specifically engage the enemy’s forces, advance the kingdom of God, and take ground away from the enemy. This can cover a lot of different activities, but it does not necessarily need to include deliverance.

Deliverance involves a specific, focused time of engaging the enemy and forcing demons to leave a person or a group.

Spiritual warfare is a type of prayer that engages the enemy and enforces the victory of Jesus by tearing down Satans kingdom. In this we still as we do in the ministry of deliverance identify the spiritual forces at work against the believer and bind or rebuke there powers according to the word.

Matthew 18:18
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Spiritual warfare prayer is a everyday need. This type of prayer will cover and bring protection. This looks like quoting the word, worshipping, praising, applying the blood, and placing upon yourself the full armour of God. Deliverance is similar but more specifically deals with the oppression within our members from the inside. These are demons that live in our soul, emotions and mind. We see this heavily in the ministry of Jesus as he casted out evil spirits everywhere he went this is deliverance.

Luke 11:14

And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute; when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed.

Matthew 8:16
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.

This is deliverance the evicting of demons that have found residence on the inside of your soul and body. Spiritual warfare is what Jesus did in the temptation narrative when he used the word of God to rebuke and push back the enemy (Matthew 4:10). Everytime the enemy tried to destroy the assignment of Jesus he used the word which is the most powerful type of spiritual warfare. There is nothing more powerful than using scripture as a weapon. The scripture is not dead but a alive sword that tears down the lies and the demonic powers of the enemy. Jesus did not need deliverance because he was not oppressed he need to war. Understanding spiritual warfare will many times keep you from needing deliverance all the time. I know many believers that are always at the altar. The reason for this is because they don’t know how to use the weapons given to them that will keep them free from Satanic influence. It’s crucial that we understand the difference. Many have misunderstood and sought deliverance when they really just needed to understand how to use there spiritual weapons. In this season God is equipping his bride to know the difference.

The body is getting beat up by the enemy but this was never supposed to be the case. Jesus has already destroyed the works of the enemy according to the word of God.

1 JOHN 3:8 ESV

Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

This might be the most important verse we can grasp. This verse is packed with revelation. Jesus has already destroyed the works of hell. Now all we need to do is exercise the victory that has already been won on the cross. This is powerful. When we are casting out demons we must understand based on this revelation that Jesus has already defeated them. They are now operating illegally. The cross is there eviction papers they have to go because Jesus has given you His power and authority over the.

Restoration of The Deliverance Ministry In 21 Century

I was sitting in a conference with a great general in our city. This man was seen as an anointed man of God in our city. He had built successful churches, one in Michigan and another in Indianapolis. The Spirit was high as many church goers were praising God for their deliverance and victory over the enemy. Suddenly in the midst of this high praise something spoke out of a woman. This voice interrupted the service and challenged the preacher. I was thinking wow! I have seen this once before when I was a child, sitting in my pentecostal church Open Door Church of Deliverance as an evil spirit crawled up the aisle on all fours growling at our Bishop. But unlike this preacher, our Bishop took off his jacket and laid hands on this man with great authority. Commanding the evil spirit to leave, this forever stuck with me as a child.

Honestly, I remember very little from growing up in church. I don’t remember one sermon I heard, which is crazy because my mom kept us in church as did my grandmother who was a minister. However, I do remember just this one event from all my years in church. Which is this exorcism or deliverance. This is why the church must openly cast out the devil and not remove the person or relegate deliverance to some small backroom as the church I started the story did. The lady that manifested what was an evil spirit that needed to be evicted. Was put out of the church by the ushers as we went back to worshiping and dancing like nothing had just happened. What does it mean to EVICT? The literal definition for this word evict is to expel (someone) from a property, especially with the support of the law. In the eyes of the law you can’t as a tenant just evict a tenant without legal cause that they are now living there illegally. I have received eviction papers, these papers state that the tenant is now in violation of the terms of contract. The enemy is in violation and is occupying illegally. When now have to hand him his eviction papers and enforce the victory of Jesus. Many still teach that deliverance is not for the sophisticated 21 century but for ancient Christinaity. We have psychology now and science to explain things like depression and anxiety. We now are medicating demons instead of evicting them. If there is a demon occupying your temple illegally medication will do nothing. In the modern day everything is summed up as mental health, but with all the mental health advancement we still have one of the most oppressed generations in church history.

We have deep oppression in the church and in the world. We have a Christianity that is not able to meet the needs of a generation. We have a generation fascinated with witchcraft and the occult. Ouija Boards have now been placed at the front of many bookstores along with spell books. Sucuide is threw the roof, as well as sexual perversion, mass shootings are becoming normal. Death hardly moves this current generation as cities are plagued by crime and violence. Many are asking what in the world is going on. Besides us living in the last days. I believe the answer is found in the words of Jesus Christ.

John 10:10 New King James Version

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come to believe that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

All that we see I believe is an increase of demonic oppression and activity that has overtaken our society. Mainly because the church has forsaken the supernatural power of God and deliverance for motivational speaking and therapy. When the answer to the oppression facing our generation is seen in the ministry of Jesus. Everywhere Jesus went he casted out these evil entities that were oppressing the people of his day. Deliverance ministry is on the rise across America and the nations. We are seeing a fresh anointing of deliverance fall upon the church. Many eyes are opening to the invisible oppression of the enemy. God is restoring the ministry of deliverance to meet the needs of a broken generation. The greater the oppression the greater our need for a church that operates in the ministry of Jesus and the power of deliverance. Every soul that is delivered, is an eviction of these evil spirits sent from hell to steal, kill and destroy peoples, regions, and even nations.
