The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. His aim is to dim the lights of the believers by attacking them in their spiritual lives. And there are many signs of a spiritual attack.
Tia Magno-Wallen, co-founder of Faith in Heaven, compiled a list of five signs of a spiritual attack in her Instagram video. See the list below to find out the ways in how to overcome them.
Signs of Spiritual Attack
-
Feeling discouraged or depressed
It is pretty normal that we find ourselves discouraged or distressed by our situations. But we are called by God to stand back up and not mope about it. (@livewellwithtia)
God promises to sustain us and carry us through. In Psalm 55:22 we are reminded, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you. He will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
-
Living in fear
Fear does not come from God. As 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (@livewellwithtia)
As children of God, there is nothing we should fear. For we are “more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:38)
-
Increased temptation
Satan loves to tempt Christians so that they would fall away from God. But we are not ignorant of his schemes. And we have God’s Word to remind us in 1 Corinthians 10:13. (@livewellwithtia)
It says, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
-
Physical Fatigue
If the enemy cannot move our spirits, he will try to move our physical bodies. But we can always turn to God for strength and restoration. (@livewellwithtia)
For God gives “strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:29-31)
-
Loss of spiritual desire
Having no desire for the things of God is a red alert for all believers. If we find ourselves in it, remember that we don’t live by our feelings and sight. We are believers and not feelers. (@livewellwithtia)
And “set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:2-3)
Above all, remember that you are not alone in the battle. Walking in the path of righteousness is difficult because the road is narrow and steep. But Jesus promises He is always with us to help us overcome!
