Singer and social media influencer Emmanuel Matos shared how Jesus took his addiction away.

Emmanuel was only 16 when he smoked his first blunt, from then on drugs took over his life. For him, smoking became his passion, he is always high, smoking from morning until evening. Drug companies even recognized his passion for marajuna and started sponsoring him.

The singer even experienced seeing evil spirits in his bedroom. He was into New Age at that time and even started offering his drugs to the spiritual guides he encountered.

“The weed was letting me tap into the spiritual world illegally.”

Weed Addiction

He gave his life to Jesus Christ. but his addiction didn’t go away. Emmanuel smoked while reading the Bible and he even wrote music about drugs and loving God. But one night, while he was smoking, he asked God to take away his addiction.

“‘Jesus if you really don’t want me to smoke, show me.’ He did that by bringing conviction to me every time I smoke. For the first time, I felt that I might be doing the wrong thing. Then I said, ‘Jesus if you want me to stop… take the urge away and make me hate it.”

After a long and difficult journey, Jesus finally took his addiction away. For the first time in his entire life, he felt disgusted with the drugs and hated being high. Jesus set him free from the years of bondage!

“I genuinely did not enjoy being high anymore. Jesus set me free, took the urge away, and took the fun away, and took the love I had for weed, the idolatry I had for weed, it just left.”

Today, he is now a Social Media influencer who uses his platform to share about Jesus and his journey of redemption.

After 24 Years, Singer Granger Smith Will Leave His Music Career To Pursue Ministry

After 24 years in music, country music singer Granger Smith announced that he is now leaving the music industry for full-time ministry.

On April 12, Granger Smith shared an Instagram post he noted as “so difficult.”

“The words for this caption are so hard to find,” he admitted. “Not because I don’t believe in the truth of them, but because this marks the end of the longest era in my life!”

The singer-songwriter announced that he was going to leave the music industry. And “this summer” will be his last tour. For 24 years, Granger has been successful in his country music career. That’s why perhaps his announcement surprised many.

To Pursue Ministry

Although he still has no idea what it will look like, he highlighted his desire for God to use him for His purpose in ministry.

“I am so encouraged and hopeful and excited and joyful about the next chapter,” he explained. “But to a large extent, I have no idea what it will look like. I just want to glorify God the best way that I can. I want to learn and grow and serve my local church and allow my pastors to equip and affirm those next steps. Lord willing, I want to be used to help people find their purpose.”

Granger clarified in the announcement video that he isn’t “going to start a church or a crusade or a revival.” Instead, he and his family would serve in the ministries of their local church.

Additionally, the singer has enrolled in seminary. He also shared about his new book that will be released on August 1. For more than two decades, Granger “has released 11 albums, one Live album, and two Extended Play projects,” according to Christian Headlines.

In the Rock the Universe event during the weekend at Universal Studios, singer Katy Nichole did not just perform but encouraged her fans. She then shared her story of supernaturally coming out from deep despair because of an encounter with God.

“I’ve talked about having scars and I know what it’s like to have pain,” she said. “I don’t just sing the songs to sing the songs. I sing the songs because that was how I got through my pain was by writing songs and talking to Jesus.”

Apparently, the singer suffered from a long battle with scoliosis before releasing her debut album in 2022. Her song became a hit, and a TikTok video of her debut single, “In Jesus Name (God of Possible),” even went viral. But unbeknown to many fans, the songs she wrote in her single came out from such a painful journey.

The Story Behind

“There was once a point in my life where I wanted to give up,” she said.

According to the report, Katy went through surgery on her spine. And for that reason, she became bedridden for a while, eventually leading to depression.

“I didn’t see the hope; I couldn’t find it,” she recalled. “I had back surgery and I was in a lot of pain. After I had the surgery, I just saw no hope.”

Then the singer revealed how she decided to just end her life because of the struggle.

“I reached the place where I grabbed a bottle of pills,” Katy recounted. “I took it to the bathroom with me, and somehow, it fell out of my hands onto the floor and the pills spilled everywhere.”

Then suddenly, she heard God, “I heard the Lord say to me, ‘Hold on, I’m not done yet.'”

And months later, Katy “saw a rainbow in the sky.” She took it as a sign from God that everything would be okay.

“I knew in that moment that the words that I was holding on to, the Lord’s words,” she explained. “Were going to take me somewhere beautiful and I trusted Him in that.”

So, the singer encouraged the crowd to look unto God despite life’s painful battles.

“You don’t see hope, you want to give up and you’re just waiting on those words. And sometimes, the Lord speaks through others to bring you those words,” the 22-year-old remarked. “I will bring in those words to hold on because your story is not done yet.”

Music legend Dolly Parton released a new song on her birthday titled “Don’t Make Me Have To Come Down There.” She revealed it was a song inspired by a dream she had with God.

Last January 19, Dolly celebrated her 77th birthday. When people asked her what she wanted to get, she said, “I’m not gonna get; I’m gonna give.” So, she gave out her new song for people to enjoy.

“It’s a song that came to me in a dream, and I felt like it was worth putting out there,” she said. “[It’s] something special. Well, it’s special to me.”

The song came from her dream about God standing on a mountain and looking down on us. In her piece, she sang that God was “looking down in such dismay.” Then, Dolly heard God say, “Don’t make me have to come down there.”

His warning woke the prolific singer and songwriter. “I got up, I started writing this song over a period of weeks, months. I finished it as things would come to me, and I just felt like I should drop it on my birthday. So, I hope you enjoy it.”

Her new song serves as a warning for God’s people. “My children, you had best beware,” Dolly sang. “If you don’t pay attention, consequences will be dire. Don’t make me have to come down there.”

It can be remembered that Dolly previously wrote a song about rebuking Satan. During her song performance, she gave a mini-sermon to the audience about Satan and his schemes. She said, “My brothers and my sisters: I’m here to tell you that Satan is real. He is real and walking around amongst us. Trying to destroy everything that’s good and beautiful.”

But she also pointed out what God can do and that He can make all things new.

In an interview with Life Church’s “Switch”, Tori opened up about her journey living in an industry filled with temptations. She also shared about the moment when she truly experienced God herself, not just because she grew up in church.

“You kind of get to a point where your faith really becomes your own,” she said. “And it’s not about what your parents say or what they believe. But it’s really like, ‘No, this is real to me.’ I’ve really experienced the presence of God and I know that this is my own faith.”

Choosing Jesus In An Industry Filled With Temptation

As a celebrity, Tori often face temptation in the industry. For that reason, she had to decide to choose her faith and stay true to Christ every time.

“Jesus is number one,” she stressed. “There’s that conviction. Certain opportunities will come up and I’ll just have to say no.”

However, Tori highlights that the most challenging part about being in the industry is going “against the grain of the music industry.” The challenge with her job is to remain focused on “the One” and not all about her.

“My faith is everything to me,” the songwriter remarked.

Despite Tori’s success in her career, she keeps her eyes fixed on Jesus.

“I can’t rely on these accomplishments, these goals and these dreams, which are great and good things…,” she said. “But even good things can be idols.”

A Tragedy Helped Anne Wilson Realize Her Dream And Became K-Love’s Awardee

Anne Wilson won this year’s K-Love Fan Awards Female Artist of the Year. But, she recently revealed that she never dreamed of becoming a singer. It was the loss of a loved one that helped her realize what she was born to do.

“I wanted to be an astronaut and work for NASA,” she told CBN News. “I just had this, like, really deep love for space. And I wanted to explore God’s creation on a whole new level. So I was pursuing wanting to be an astronaut, and that was my passion.”

But, it changed when his big brother Jacob died in a car accident. And at his funeral, Anne sang in front of an audience for the very first time. “I realized that there’s such a short life that we live here on earth and the importance of following Jesus and telling people about him and his love.”

She added, “That was the moment that I knew that I was called to music and specifically music for the Lord and His glory.”

“My Jesus”

Her passion for music for the glory of Jesus led her to release her new debut album, “My Jesus.” Her album also received the K-Love Fan Awards Breakout Single this year.

The singer-songwriter shared that “My Jesus” was born from her journey with the Lord after her brother’s passing. She kept a journal to record how the Lord brought her through. Then, she noticed something from her writings.

“I noticed that I had only referred to the Lord as ‘my Jesus.’ Like you would never find, ‘Thank you, God, for today.’ Or ‘thank you, Lord.’ Whatever it was. ‘Thank you, my Jesus.’ Or, ‘I love you, my Jesus.'”

She continued, “And I just remember having this moment of realizing why is it that I’ve only ever written my Jesus? And I felt the Lord speak to me and say, ‘It’s because it’s the truth, and you are Mine, and I am yours, and you have a personal relationship.’ And I realize that out of a personal relationship with Jesus is what was everything else.”

Through it all, Anne remembers the life of his brother Jacob and the influence he had on her life. “I fully believe that he’s in a great cloud of witnesses and that he’s able to see everything that’s going on. And I know that he’s watching over me,” she declared.

The newest singer and recording artist, 20-year-old Anne Wilson, wins at K-LOVE fan awards for her debut song “My Jesus,” and expresses how it made her “humble” and “grateful.”

In the recent K-LOVE Fan Awards, Anne Wilson brought home two titles in her hit debut song, “My Jesus.” As young as 20-years-old, she won the “Breakout Single of the Year” and “Female Artist of the Year.” She told Faithwire how “honored” and “grateful” she was following her back-to-back award.

“I think it’s so surreal to be in this place and realize that fans voted for me,” she said. “That’s such an honor and just makes me so humble, so grateful.”

“My Jesus” is Anne’s first single which landed in the first spot on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. According to the report, it “sold more than half a million copies.” And then her “first full-length album debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart.”

Feeling Honored

Moreover, the young recording artist admitted how nervous she was going up on stage during the awards. But her parents and sister’s presence gave her confidence. She also revealed how it’s still hard for her to believe that she’s “now a recording artist.”

When asked how she felt about having her songs impacting millions, Anne said she’s “honored.”

“It’s such a beautiful, full-circle moment for me that I never thought I would have,” she described. “I didn’t grow up wanting to be an artist, so to have this moment now of realizing that my songs are impacting people, it’s so surreal for me.”

The Story Behind

The new recording artist started as a teen who dreamed of becoming an astronaut. It never entered her mind that she would pursue music until her beloved brother, Jacob, died.

Anne and her 23-year-old brother from Lexington, Kentucky, were so close. That’s why when he met a car accident that tragically cost his life, she was deeply devastated. Music became her friend during the loss. It was also during her brother’s funeral that she sang in public for the first time.

“I wouldn’t be here if my brother hadn’t passed away,” Anne said. “But I also am so grateful to be here. I’m so grateful that I get to share Jesus with people and that I get to encourage people in the Lord. I would trade it all to have my brother back. But I’m so grateful that God used [his death] for good.”

Further, Anne shared how she keeps “a heavenly perspective” in an interview at “The Prodigal Stories Podcast.”

“This is not our final home; heaven is,” she remarked. “So I think keeping my perspective on that and realizing that things on earth don’t matter as much when we have our heavenly home. I think that’s a really big encouragement for me and I think that’s what I’d inspire others to just keep their eyes on that.”

The late Grammy Award-winning Donna Summer recalled her first supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit before she passed away.

LaDonna Adrian Gaines, popularly known as Donna Summer, is a well-known singer and actress. She rose to fame during the disco era in the 1970s and was later labeled as the “Queen of Disco.” One of her most popular hit songs was “Love To Love You Baby” which she later admitted to being lascivious.

What most people didn’t know about her is that she was raised in a Christian home with his father being a pastor of a church. During his final years on earth, she recalled the moment she supernaturally encountered God when she was just 10-years-old. It happened after she sang a solo in the choir.

“It sort of knocked everybody out of the pews. When I looked up through my tears, everyone in the whole church’s eyes were downcast and they were crying, and I thought, ‘Oh my God. I looked at my dad and he was crying,’ Donna recalled. “It was that on that first time I ever sang, that I heard God speak to me, and He said to me that I was gonna be famous and that I was not to misuse the power that He was giving me.”

Encounter with God

Later on, she really became worldwide famous as she continued with her singing career. However, that fame brought darkness into her life. Because of the demands of her career, she became addicted to antidepressants and sleeping pills.

Donna had also been faced with lawsuits, medical issues, and even suicidal thoughts. Her fans and the world watching her didn’t know anything about her issues as she appeared to be doing well in her career. Until she finally gave her life again to God in 1979 after a period of “spiritual darkness and confusion.”

“I was finally filled by God’s Holy Spirit and gloriously born again,” she reflected.

She stopped singing worldly songs and started shifting to Gospel music. Her hit song “Bring Down the Reign” was about her faith in the Lord. The superstar used her platform to bring people closer to Jesus until she finally went to be with the Lord in 2012 at the age of 63.

“I never stopped being a Christian. Being born-again is an affirmation that the person is going to make a personal effort to walk closer to God and bring Him into one’s life and start following His way.”

Blind Singer Credits God For All Her Achievements

A blind woman, now a highly sought-after singer, credits God for her success. She also received the East Kentucky Leadership Award. And now, she wants to inspire young people to dream big.

Marlana VanHoose was born blind with many complicated health issues. She was also infected with a virus that led to even more complications. Doctors felt she wouldn’t survive, but the Marlana defied all odds and miraculously survived the ordeal.

Today, 26 years later, Marla inspires the world with her story and credits God for all the good things happening in her life. And she wanted the musical talent God gave her, which she considers a “gift” from Him, to be used for His glory.

“God healed my body from the virus,” she said. “God gave me the gift of music. I started humming ‘Jesus Loves Me’ as a baby before I could speak.”

Marla grew up in church. Hence, she knew old church songs which inspired her to sing. But she only rose to fame after a video of her singing went viral and captivated the hearts of many. Since then, event organizers have been inviting her to sing the national anthem from different states.

”It was a blessing,” Marla remarked. “So, I sang the anthem at the UK girl’s basketball game in 2012; the video went viral. Since then, I’ve been traveling all across the United States, singing. It’s been a blessing.”

Amid the success, the Johnson County singer uses her platform to glorify God. She knows her God-given purpose, and she wanted to do just that.

“I have been through lots and lots of things in life and God is still taking care of me,” Marla said. “He’s still using me for His glory. And God has given me that ability to share with others the gift of music. It’s a universal language.”

And during the East Kentucky Leadership Conference, Marlana won the 2022 East Kentucky Leadership Award for Culture and Arts. And she doesn’t want her achievement to be in vain as she wants to give hope to the young people to dream big.

”I never want to give, I just want to keep going,” Marlana stressed. ”I could become a true leader to those in this state and to those around the world as well.”

But despite the impossibilities, Dianne continued to believe in God for a miracle. God had healed her before, thinking she could never walk again due to juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. But God miraculously healed her in a moment. Hence, she knew God could do it again in her life.

Then one day, while watching the Christian broadcasting television 700 Club, Dianne claimed the word of knowledge the host prayed. The 700 Club hosts specifically prayed for a singer who lost her voice and that God will give it back. She had just to use it, and the healing will begin.
