Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will speak in Israel today, discussing foreign affairs ahead of the 2023 presidential campaign. The speech and news conference he’s attending is sponsored by the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem and the Jerusalem Post. “Celebrate The Faces of Israel” will include speakers President Isaac Herzog, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides.
“Now he’s headed to Jerusalem for his highest-profile platform yet to discuss foreign affairs ahead of a 2024 presidential campaign: A keynote speech and news conference Thursday at an event that also features Israel’s president. The appearance is expected to highlight DeSantis’s close alignment with Israel — an asset in a Republican primary — at what DeSantis has called “a time of unnecessarily strained relations between Jerusalem and Washington.” The Washington Post reported earlier this week.
The Florida Governor has already met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, and other government and business officials in Japan and South Korea. His stop in Israel is the third this week with Florida business delegations.
Netanyahu and Florida Governor DeSantis to attend keynote event
An an interview, Prime Minister Netanyahu said he would meet with DeSantis–and any other Republican or Democratic United States Governors–emphasizing the importance of Israel’s bipartisan support of the US.
“DeSantis has long touted a strong relationship with Israel as one of his top priorities, but Netanyahu’s close ties to Trump sets up a thorny dynamic as Trump and DeSantis gear up to clash in the presidential race.” Gabe Gutierrez examined in an article this week.

“I would like to say how much appreciative I am for all that you do. I’m not sure how well I would be doing “spiritually” if it weren’t for you all. We really need the encouragement and truth of God’s Word taught. I for one, am so thankful for your yielding to the call of God.” – Melissa, US
