A man who was sentenced to 40 years in prison because of murder testified that Jesus Christ would set the captives free.
Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison
An inmate boldly testified about the hope and love He received from Jesus Christ. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison because of murder. He once tried to attend church, but he couldn’t comprehend anything. Sadly, he went through drug addictions and had gone through bad relationships. One time, they went on a drug deal and ended a man’s life. Since then, he struggled with that bad decision because he knew he was God’s creation.
Then, he shared, “I ended up in county jail, capital murder, no way out. Instead of turning to God, I turned to the things that prison had to offer, which is gangs and drugs.” After that, a sudden shift happened in April 2022. He looked into the mirror and realized he no longer recognized the person he saw.
Furthermore, at that moment, something crazy happened. He heard the whisper of God inside his spirit asking him, “How much longer are you going to continue in your mess? How much further are you going to run from me?” He never had an encounter like that in his life. Suddenly, he felt like a veil was removed from his eyes and he could see all the horrible things that he did and he also saw how God saved him during those moments.

Set The Captives Free
That experience left him on his knees, and he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. “Everything changed. Chains broke, and I became free. I got rid of my addictions. Jesus wanted me to write the organization I was a part of and disassociate myself. And I did that. Jesus Christ will set the captives free,” he testified.
Moreover, he shared what was written in Romans 10: 8-11, “The word is near you. It’s in your mouth and in your heart. That is the word of faith that we preach. That if you will confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with a heart, one believes into righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made into salvation.” He then encouraged people to trust God, for He heals broken hearts and reconciles family.
