A News reporter saved a woman whose vehicle has been swept into floodwaters during Dallas’ deadly storm.

On August 22, “a summer’s worth of rain in a day,” poured in Dallas starting on Sunday night. The record-breaking rain of at least 15-inches resulted in intense flooding in many parts of the city. Sadly, the deadly storm took a life of a 60-year-old woman whose body has been recovered in her submerged car after the floodwaters receded.
But amidst the heartbreaking news of the flood’s devastation, a positive report of how a woman’s life was saved thanks to the help of a journalist broke out. While Fox Weather reporter Robert Ray was reporting about the Texas flood on Monday morning, a vehicle right in front of him was swept into the floodwaters.
“She literally, as I was standing here setting up for the shot, guys, pulled in and didn’t realize it,” Robert said. “The next thing you know, her car was floating. So, I went out there and tried to push her vehicle as best I could.”

As her vehicle started to float, he began to fear for her life, she thought that she was about to die.
“I thought I was dying,” Stephanie Carroll, the driver of the vehicle, recalled. “I thought I was going to die, I thought I was going to drown.”
Robert knew he had to do something to save the woman’s life so he tried to push the vehicle to safety. However, the vehicle didn’t move. He quickly thought of another way to save her so he pulled him out of her window. Stephanie called Robert a blessing from God for saving her life.
“I want to tell him ‘Thank you,’ because he really did help me out. He’s awesome, a blessing from God actually.”
Apparently, Stephanie didn’t see the floodwaters as he drove through until she started to float. Thankfully, Robert is in the right place at the right time when it all happened.
Let us pray for the city of Dallas as they recover from the destruction the storm has caused.
