When you are serving the Lord, your heart matters for Him.
Your Heart Matters
Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. shares a powerful message about serving the Lord. Many non-believers often see Christ as creepy, condemning, and weak because it’s what they see on most Christians they know. But Christianity isn’t really about being all these stigmas, Christianity is more than that. It is living a Christ-like life that is filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
“You don’t have to be a creepy Christian. You don’t have to be a condemning Christian. But you just got to be someone who can say I’ve had an encounter with Jesus Christ, He’s left me changed and transformed. I’m not going to let my voice be swallowed up by the crowd, I’m ready to rise up and make some noise for Jesus,” Pastor Rich said.
Serve the Lord
He then continued to tell the story of how Jesus was observing the crowd of people giving their offerings to the treasury box. While all the rich men were giving so much, Jesus suddenly became annoyed. He is not annoyed by how huge their offering is, He has been annoyed by their motives.
“Jesus is not annoyed by what is being given and Jesus is not annoyed by who is giving it. But rather, Jesus is annoyed by how it’s being given,” he said. “This is important that we understand that the how actually matters to Jesus, the heart actually matters to Jesus.”
When we serve God, it should always be about Jesus. Let our hearts be focused only on Jesus and not on other things. Let us serve and worship the Lord with all that we are. Our hearts matter to Him.
“One of the ugliest things you’ll ever find in the church is when someone worships for all the wrong reasons.”
