Domestic Violence Survivor Shares How God Rescued Her From Abuser

A survivor of domestic violence shares her compelling testimony of how God rescued her from the clutches of her abuser.

Amanda Reguera had the privilege of growing up under the guidance of her Christian grandparents. They attended church together regularly, and Amanda witnessed firsthand the unwavering faithfulness of her grandmother to God. However, during her teenage years, she began to rebel and eventually distanced herself from both the church and her family.

At the age of 21, Amanda became a single mother. Later on, she met a man with whom she believed she could rebuild a family for her daughter. Sadly, immediately after marrying him, he became abusive towards her. At this point, Amanda returned to attending church and had already begun cultivating a relationship with God.

“I was encountering God, His love, His presence,” she recalled.

Serving God

Amanda joined the worship team while enduring ongoing abuse at home. Even in her difficult circumstances, she persisted in prayer, pleading with God to provide an escape from the cycle of domestic violence. Finally, during a Sunday service, God orchestrated a way out for her.

“The pastor, she called me up to the front and she says, ‘I don’t know why I’m going to tell you this, but God is telling me to tell you that you need to choose life or death, today.’ I got back to my seat and I said, ‘Lord, I don’t know if you mean a physical death or a spiritual death, but I don’t want to find out. Help me get out of this relationship.'”

Rescued from abuser

On that fateful Sunday night, God intervened and rescued Amanda from her abuser.

“I was at the house. He came home, busted the door open, and just screamed and hollering and arguing with me from the moment that he opened the door. I sit there, and right when I’m about to tell him something, I feel a hand come over my mouth… It was almost like a piece of tape was on my mouth, I couldn’t speak.”

“He tells me, ‘Well since you don’t want to say anything, well I’m going to pack my stuff and I’m going to call my family and they’re going to come and pick me up. Inside of me, I felt the Spirit of God telling me, ‘This is the door, this is the chance, that you were asking Me for, this is the end.'”

Since that life-altering moment, Amanda has been able to live a life free from abuse. She now dedicates herself to serving the Lord as a worship leader, frequently ministering to various churches. If you find yourself trapped in an abusive relationship, remember that the Lord deeply loves you and will provide a way out, just as He rescued Amanda from domestic abuse.

The Good Shepherd Will Restore Your Soul

I always write first to myself. Then I decide if I want to share it. I don’t share it hoping for a vast audience – generally I feel like it is just maybe for one other person. It is the concept of having a cookie and breaking it in half – one half for me and one half for thee.

So today what I want to share how my anxiety has subsided. Whew. It was like a heavy weighted blanket someone threw over my soul. Personally, I am claustrophobic anyways, so the extra weight never works well for me on any level.

I was wondering why I am feeling better. Because Jesus.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

That’s it. I did what He required of me and He has taken up the slack. He has restored my soul. If there were 100 sheep I was the 1 He had to rescue. I was the one snarled in the bushes way on the other side of the mountain. He, being the Good Shepherd left the sheep that were doing great, grazing and sunning themselves, without a care in the world – and He came to find me. I got gotten used to those branches wrapped around me, until He gently lifted them off of me.

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.” (Matthew 18:12-14)

TIME TO GRAZE

When He put me back in the pasture with the sun brightly shining on me, it was almost too much. Enter anxiety. In essence, the sun hurt my eyes. BUT every day I have felt my strength returning.

Those other sheep? They have been my support group. They have just let me be. They move over and let me graze with them. And the Good Shepherd is my hero. He rescued me from a place I didn’t know I needed rescued from.

I am safe now. I am becoming whole. I am no longer broken. I am not carrying a heavy weight anymore that was actually NOT mine TO carry.

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.” (John 10:11) Maybe you need to know that if YOU are the one, Jesus will leave the 99 for you. And, it’s not scary. It is a rescue mission filled with hope, love, joy, and utter relief.

Father’s Love Saves Son From Earthquake Rubble In Turkey

Amidst the tragedy in Turkey, love prevails when a father shields his son from the falling debris of their apartment during a deadly earthquake.

Father’s Love

Early morning on February 6, a strong earthquake which was never experienced in the last two decades, hit Turkey. With a magnitude of 7.8, the country faced one of its most devastating times as the tremor left massive damage and killed thousands of people.

But national search operations have rescued quite a handful of residents over the week. And in its one rescue episode, they have witnessed a miracle and a story of a father’s love.

In a video capturing the touching moment, the recording showed the rescue workers retrieving bodies from the pile of rubble. Then, they took out a man with a child on his lap. The man appeared to be protecting his son, shielding him with his body. The workers did not realize that the father’s sacrifice would be worth it.

As they cleared the debris and took out the boy’s body, suddenly, the boy opened his eyes and breathed.

People shouted praises to God as they witnessed the miracle before them. They then rushed him to the hospital to be treated.

Although the father did not survive, his love will remain, and his legacy will live on through his son’s life.

Pray for Turkey 

According to USA Today, Turkish President Recep Erdogan reported the death toll rising to more than 35,000 over the last week in the country alone. Adding the number of casualties of the earthquake in Syria, it would total more than 41,000.

Rescue teams have reported that they still hear voices under the rubble a week after the earthquake. It gave hope to the team to find more survivors. But at the same time, time is crucial. Another day means another day of hunger, a small amount of oxygen, and wounds left untreated for the survivors.

So, let us pray for God’s intervention and miraculous help would come their way. Let us pray for Turkey and declare that God will use the tragedy for the revival and harvest of souls.

Young Fisherman Lost At Sea For 4 Hours Survives After Family Miraculously Rescued Him

A young spear fisherman from Key West, Florida who was lost at sea for four hours survived the terrifying ordeal after his family miraculously spotted him in the dark and rescued him.

The 22-year-old Dylan Gartenmeyer was drift diving with his friends when he suddenly found himself lost at sea. As he was diving, the Gulf Stream pulled him away from their boat and from the coast. The Coast Guard and some rescue teams came to the scene to search through the sea for Dylan. However, after hours of looking for him, they weren’t able to find him.

After receiving the terrifying news, his family wasted no time and acted quickly to save Dylan. They immediately got on their grandfather’s boat and went to his last known coordinates.

“Got a horrible phone call yesterday that Dyl had gone diving and hadn’t been seen for two hours! After calling the fam together we hopped on the contender and had the scariest boat ride of our life out to his last known coordinates. God was definitely on our side because as soon as we stopped running out and started looking, we spotted him right away at almost the exact coordinates we were given,” Priscilla Gartenmayer, Dylan’s cousin, wrote in a Facebook post on Friday.

Miraculous Rescue

Miraculously, after four hours of being lost in the dark sea, they were able to rescue Dylan. His family knew it was God who led him to where he is, they knew that they have just witnessed a miracle.

“It definitely had to be a miracle. It had to be God protecting him the whole time, our angels above,” Tabby, Dylan’s mother said in an interview with Today.

The emotional and miraculous rescue was caught on camera. In the video, Dylan’s family was seen rejoicing as they spotted where he was.

A Christian couple never grew tired of sharing their story until today when two angels rescued them from a blinding snowstorm.

Christmas Time In 1967

A real story shared by Cecil Murphey and Marley Gibson on CBN continue to amaze people. Apparently, their parents encountered two angels during Christmas in 1967.

Going back to 1967, the Christian couple had their new vehicle four-door Thunderbird. It was the Christmas holidays, and the couple wanted to spend time with their children. So, they decided to travel from Alabama to Massachusetts, even though it was a long trip north.

Meanwhile, their daughter began to worry because of the snowy weather and asked them to stay. But her dad insisted that he could still drive amidst the heavy snow. He was confident with their new car and “don’t expect any problems getting home.”

Meeting Two Angels Amidst Blinding Snowstorm

Later, the couple, unfortunately, caught up in a blinding snowstorm in Connecticut. According to the story, the dad had only “about a five-foot visibility. Just then, his right-rear tire blew.”

Now, the couple had no choice but to leave the car to change the tire. But the problem was the father “was weak and feverish” at the time. Also, cell phones still did not exist during that time.

So, the dad went out from the vehicle despite his condition while his wife stayed inside. The wife wanted to help, but he did not allow her. Instead, he told her, “One of us out in the storm is enough. No sense in your getting sick. Stay inside, pray, and keep warm.”

Praying

All the wife could do was pray, “Dear God, please help us.”

The dad wasn’t long outside when two young men suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Then they offered to help him change the tire.

“Sir, we’ll be glad to change the tire for you,” they told him. But before he could even resist, the other man said, “Please, get back in the car, sir. It’s freezing out here. We’ll change the tire.”

He gave in and let the two men help him. Then he went back inside the car with his wife.

The wife continued to pray amidst the ordeal. Soon after, the men were done changing the tire. And before the husband could even pay them, the two men disappeared.
Later, he discovered that there were no traces of the two men.

“He looked around. He couldn’t see evidence that a truck or car had stopped.. He saw no footprints except his own,” their daughter recounted.

“God answered my prayer,” his wife concluded. “He sent two angels. Christmas angels. Sent by God to help us, and they left when their job was done. In the Bible, isn’t that how angels did things?”

Today, as the mother retells that encounter with the angels, she doesn’t mind those skeptical.

“It doesn’t matter whether you believe,” she said. “We know that we had a true Christmas miracle in Connecticut when two angels watched over us by changing our flat tire in the middle of a snow storm.”

Pastors Rescue Over 150 People Amidst Deadliest Buffalo Snowstorm In History

Amidst the deadliest snowstorm that recently hit Buffalo, two pastors took action in rescuing over 150 people, as it was what God told them to do.

According to ABC News, 39 people lost their lives in the recent blizzard that hit the City of Buffalo in New York. The tragedy saddened the whole community. But on the other hand, hope was not lost as two pastors became heroes amidst the snowstorm.

The couple Al and Vivian Robinson are Spirit of Truth Urban Ministry pastors in Buffalo. They were excited for Christmas as their nine children would come home to spend the holidays with them. They were done with all the preparations when the deadly blizzard began to havoc the region.

Pastors Help People

Amidst the snowstorm, the powers went off. But within Al and Vivian’s community, only their church had electricity. Al wondered for a while. But later, he realized God wanted them to help and rescue the others amid the horrifying weather.

“I’ll never forget asking my wife, ‘Why do you suppose God gave us power, and didn’t give other people power? I mean, why did he choose us?’” he told NewsNation in an interview. “And then five hours later, I discovered exactly why our church still had power.”

Soon, the couple took action amidst the freezing weather to look out for people to rescue.

“We just jumped into action and was able to deliver up to 154 people to the church, to not freeze to death,” Al told CNN in an interview. “I wish that I could say that for everyone.”

154 Rescued

The pastors met some people “that were freezing to death” because of the negative 20s temperature. They also shared the information on social media. Then from 10 people, it eventually rose to 154.

“We had people sleeping everywhere in our church, but we were the only ones with the electricity,” the pastor said in an interview with CNN.

Later, Pastor Al and his wife revealed how God prepared and equipped them before the snowstorm hit. That included “mattresses and beds had been moved to the church” recently.

“People need to realize that if God has given them the ability to help someone else, it is incumbent upon them to help someone else,” Al remarked. “We weren’t expecting any of this chaos at all. God just knew what was going to happen before it even happened. And he already supplied the need before the need was needed.”

Watch: Brave Rescue Of Elderly Man Hanging From His Balcony In Madrid

An elderly man slipped from his balcony in Madrid and was able to hold onto the railing. Despite the social distancing measures amid the quarantine, neighbors were quick to respond for help.

On April 19, a video captured the 70-year-old man hanging from his 2nd floor balcony. The reports identified the man as Juan Pena. Bibliotodo reported that it was his wife and daughter that held him and prevented him from falling. But they were not strong enough to pull him back up. They were shouting for help for neighbors to notice. Fortunately, residents from the area heard the cry and immediately took action.

Two neighbors climbed the building as fast as they could to hold onto the old man while another group of neighbors carried a mattress below to cushion a possible fall. Before the two women lost their strength, the climbers were able to hold and support Pena from the railing. They gently lowered him from their floor in the building to the mattress waiting in the ground.

“Dad, look at me. Open your eyes,” the daughter shouted.

Postal Service Worker Who Rescued Missing Toddler Credits God For It

Their teamwork and quick wits saved the man from meeting a tragic end. The rescued ended with cheers and applause from the neighborhood.

It was still unclear how Pena ended up hanging from their balcony but there were no reports of injury from the accident.

Madrid on lockdown

Madrid, Spain, had gradually eased their lockdown. The Jakarta Post reported that Spain’s four-step procedure for lifting the quarantine is expected to finish by the end of June according to the Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. The preparatory phase started on April 26 when Spain permitted children to go out on walks with one parent for only one hour. On May 2, the rest of the population will be allowed to go out for walks and exercises.

Couple On Honeymoon Saves 15 Babies Inside Blazing Building

A couple on their honeymoon never expected that they would become heroes in the end.

Doran Smith and David Squillante married before the pandemic, so plans to celebrate their honeymoon were delayed. Now that COVID restrictions are gone, they went to Barcelona, Spain, to fulfill their long-awaited dream.

Thank God they decided on Barcelona because they would become the rescuers of more than 12 babies trapped inside a blazing department.

15 Babies Saved

Doran and David were enjoying their walk in Barcelona Park when they noticed several women running outside a building in panic.

“I saw a flame coming out of the doorway, next to the door that these women had come out of,” Doran recalled. “So, I said, ‘Oh my God, there’s a fire.'”

David’s instinct took over as he realized that the burning building was a nursery. He ran inside, hoping to rescue trapped kids, but he did not expect to see 15-20 babies.

“I found myself looking at 15, 20 babies sleeping,” he said. “And immediately just kind of lined everyone up, and we started grabbing them, putting them into the crib.”

Residents also helped David. “We were literally taking cribs (in them) with some kids and rolling them across the street in the high school lobby,” Doran said.

They were able to get the babies out in an instant. It took them only 10 minutes to finally say they were all safe. Firefighters and local authorities then arrived at the scene. The couple was able to resume their walk after the startling incident.

“It was wild,” Doran explained as she laughed with her husband.

David shared, “It felt like we had seen it in a movie. It just didn’t feel real.”

David’s family of firefighters attributed to his courage and boldness to run inside the fire. His father and grandfather were brave firemen in their Bristol, Rhode Island, hometown.

God bless the marriage of this beautiful couple.

Dallas School Bus Driver Credits God For Rescue Of Two Kids Trapped In Raging Waters

A Dallas school bus driver and bus monitor believed God had put them in the right place at the right time when they rescued two kids trapped in raging waters.

Simone Edmond, a school bus driver for 22 years, claims divine intervention brought them on a route that he does not usually take.

Together with the bus monitor, Tekendria Valentine, they were called to pick up a student who missed the bus. Fortunately, the bus was already empty when they went to the specified place. But, the student never showed up.

Edmond said, “It had to be God to send me that way because I don’t normally go that way.”

They were about to return when they discovered the two kids clinging to a tree as flood waters tried to sweep them away.

Divine intervention

Tekendria recalled, “We were just in the area, I was like maybe it was a waste of time, but then when we seen what we seen, I was like maybe that was God putting us there in that area for that reason.”

Apparently, the two children, a boy and a girl, were siblings who were caught up in the rushing waters.

They immediately jumped to action. Since the bus was for special needs children, it was equipped with removable seatbelts. They tied the seatbelts together to reach them.

Neighbors were also there to help. Praise God because they were successful in their rescue.

The young boy was very thankful. Tekendria shared, “The little boy, he was so appreciative of us. He got out and he was like, ‘Please, I want to give you a hug. I want to give you a hug. And I was like, ‘That’s fine, you can give me a hug.'”

“Like I said, it had to be God to send us that way and to make us think, because we knew they needed help,” Edmond said.

A Good Samaritan wades into the water to save a drowning woman. He recalls praying to God to save her.

Scot Wolfe was out for his daily walk around Lindo Lake in Lakeside, California on a Monday evening. The 56-year-old man saw two women arguing, one woman, who seemed to be intoxicated yelled at herself and began acting strangely. So, he and other onlookers called for help.

“This woman was going in and out of traffic, almost hit by cars, so they called for her welfare,” Scot said.

Drowning Woman

When the police arrived at the scene, things became worse as the 52-year-old woman went into the lake. He yelled to the officers and repeatedly went underwater and re-emerged. The woman didn’t want any police officers in the water, she threatened them many times.

After about 30 minutes, Scot noticed that something was wrong with the woman. She was obviously suffering fatigue until she went underwater for 30 seconds.

“She’s not moving. She’s sinking,” one bystander said. “Come on. Seriously. Hurry, dude!”

Rescue

So, Scot, who has a heart condition, risked his life and went into the water to save the woman’s life. Upon reaching her, he noticed that he was turning blue and was not breathing. He tried to do chest compressions while on the water but he was having a hard time. While Scot was pulling her into the shore, he was praying to God for the woman’s safety.

“I was praying in my head, ‘God, help us save her. God, help us save her,’” he said in an interview.

Thankfully, after police officers performed first aid on her, she began breathing again. The paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital for further examination. She is believed to be recovering well after what happened.
