The moment we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are commissioned to be the salt and light of the world, like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. Therefore, you can be a witness for Him, and you can represent Jesus at work.
The apostle reminds every believer to be Christ’s ambassador in 2 Corinthians 5:20. For God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” This is a challenge, especially when we are surrounded by non-believers in our workplaces. But here’s a good start, there are plenty of ways to represent Jesus at work, and here are seven of them:
7 Ways You Can Represent Jesus at Work Part I
1. Overcome the habit of complaining
“Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people,” (Philippians 2:14-15, NLT).
2. Guard your mouth
“Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity” (Proverbs 21:23, NIV)

3. Learn how to encourage others
“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them” (Ephesians 4:29, NLT).

4. Pray for others’ needs
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16, NLT).
5. Walk away from talks that are centered around gossip
“A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence” (Proverbs 11:13, NLT).
6. Do everything for God
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians 3:17, NKJV).
7. Do things excellently
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16, ESV).
