Street Girls Radically Encountered By The Holy Spirit

During our trip to Brazil in April, we were lucky enough to partner with Shores of Grace and do street outreach for women that are selling their bodies on the Avenita. This is a street in Recife where women, many underage, are living very hard and abuse filled lives. Shores of Grace puts on monthly banquets for the women and do regular outreach, providing safety, hope, and a way out from an otherwise doomed lifestyle.

Most of the underage girls have run away from an abusive home and are desperate and exposed. During outreach I met two teenage girls that I will never forget. They both looked around 15 and had been through so much. The slightly older one had no expression on her face but the younger had a big warm smile. I asked the younger of the two what I could pray for her for and she put her hand over her stomach and said, “Can you pray that the birth goes well? My last child nearly died while I was giving birth.” It turned out she was six weeks pregnant with her third child. Her sister had two children already also. As we began to pray for them, men were pulling up in cars trying to get their attention but the girls didn’t even look their way. They were captivated by the love of God.

Suddenly, the younger girl began to cry out, “My hand is burning! Ouch! What is happening? I have a fever! Oh, I am burning up!” We explained that this was the power of God falling on her and she looked completely shocked and awe struck at what was happening. She began to laugh uncontrollably and we joined in, ignoring the glaring man sitting in the car nearby with his window down. Filled with joy, she stumbled back and I had to put my hand out to stop her from falling into a drain.

We then explained how much Jesus loved her and that she was His precious daughter. I offered her the chance to surrender her life to Christ but she said she couldn’t do it. I’m not sure if this is why but people representing the church had been known to drive down the street throwing eggs, curses, and even shooting at them with paintball guns.

This time, they got to experience the real Father’s heart. The girls have been regularly attending Shores of Grace’s banquets and Jesus is continually working on their hearts to bring them into His loving open arms. Praise Christ, He is truly the redeemer!

Fear Of A Phone Call Turns Into $10,000 Blessing

We had completed a development project a few years ago which was quite a hard time. If anything went wrong with a project, it was this one! However, despite the challenges and hardships, we still made a profit. While in a meeting this week my phone rang and I saw who was calling: it was a consultant who worked for us on this past project. When I saw his name come up on my phone I was struck with fear. Generally if this guy was calling there was most likely something wrong.

I was in the meeting so I could not take the phone call but my mind was racing trying to figure out what could be wrong. I realized I was partnering with fear and not God’s love for me. When the meeting finished, I quickly walked out and tried to call the consultant back but he did not answer. I was still fighting off fear of what could be wrong.

I ended up going to run an errand in my car and while I was in the car I asked God why this particular consultant would be calling me. I felt Him answer with, “I just want to bless you!” I said, “Ok, I’m sorry God but that could mean hundreds of things!” I continued to fight off fear as best I could and then eventually called the consultant back. This time he answered and he started out with small talk. I began to think he couldn’t be too worried about things if he is more interested in talking about how my family is, how my life was going, etc.

Then he said, “Oh, the reason for calling is I received an email from the local city council where we did this project and apparently there is a bond that you paid that you forgot about and they want to return it! The bond amount is $10,000.” I responded with, “Yes, wow, okay, I can receive that!”

Thank you Jesus for gifts and surprises and for showing me more of God’s goodness. Jesus continually shows me how to live a hope-filled life!

Dancing Brings Healing and Terminal Malaria Healed

While my team was running a pastors’ conference in Sierra Leone, a prophetic dancer named Gosha was on the arts and dance team.

One afternoon we were ministering in a military hospital where people had been given only days to live. There were several cases of advanced malaria, for which there is no cure. One woman in particular had been afflicted with advanced stages of malaria. Other than her IVs, the doctors and nurses had stopped treatment, and her family was left to see to her day-to-day needs while waiting for her to die.

All of a sudden, faith rose up inside Gosha and she spoke forcefully to the woman, “In the mighty name of Jesus, get up and walk!”

Instantly, the woman got out of bed and walked around the room! A couple of days later, one of the nurses connected with us and let us know that the woman was completely healed and had been discharged from the hospital. Praise the Lord!

However, Gosha herself began to feel sick and show signs of malaria that night. Not only could she not stand up, but also she couldn’t feel her legs. The entire team crammed into her bedroom to lay hands on her and pray; then we worshipped in the lobby. She felt a little better, but her condition was worsening the next morning.

We had a man from our team carry Gosha to the bus and from the bus into the church so that she could be in the Presence of the Lord as we held the conference.

During worship Gosha felt as if she was in a battle. She said that she could see demons poking at her legs, and a very large angel was standing over her heart. At one point during the service, two women and a man who were all pastors were nearby. They had just heard our team’s teaching on the power of worshipful dance. At the same time they all heard the Lord say, “Dance around Gosha.”

The two women immediately began to dance around her, but the man was not convinced he should. The Lord told him again, “Dance around Gosha,” and he finally conceded.

As the three pastors danced around her, Gosha was healed and set free from the attack! After a couple of minutes, she came back into the sanctuary completely restored. Only moments earlier, we’d seen her frail and wobbly in Justin’s arms, and now she began to dance powerfully. The pastors said that if they hadn’t seen her healing as they danced around her, they would not have believed it. Their act instilled in them faith in the power of worshipful dance.

16 Year Old Boy Healed From Gastroparesis

This is the case report of a boy who was unable to eat or drink for the first 16 years of his life because of a condition called gastroparesis, where his stomach was unable to contract. He received maximal medical treatment but did not improve in that time, doing multiple surgeries and receiving multiple medications throughout his life.

After receiving prayer, he was able to eat a full meal for the first time in his life, and to date, six years later, he has been able to eat normally, and has had no need to see the pediatric gastroenterologist or surgeon, take any medication, nor has he had any health problems.

Here is what the published medical report says about the prayers that led to this miraculous healing: “He commanded the healing in the authority and power of Jesus. He made a point of indicating that he had no power or authority to heal, but only with the authority of Jesus Christ, he could command the healing.”

Worker Who Gets Healed Prays For His Coworker Who Is Healed Too

On our day off, my mission trip team was paying our bill at a shop in Rwanda when I asked the owner if he had any pain in his body. He said he didn’t, so I asked if any of his staff had pain. A worker standing nearby showed me he could not raise his arm above a certain point because of shoulder problems. I prayed a simple, direct prayer in Jesus’ name and asked the man to test out his arm. He was completely surprised when he could lift his arm straight up!

Astounded, he kept raising his arm up and down and smiling. His coworkers had gathered around and when I asked if anyone else had pain, a man pointed to his side. I asked the man who had just been healed to pray for his coworker, so he came around the counter and laid his hand on him. After a short, straightforward prayer in Jesus’ name, the friend checked out his side. They were all happy and amazed because he had been instantly healed! I commissioned them to pray for anyone they saw in a simple, easy way and to tell everyone what Jesus had done for them that day.

As we left, the first worker walked us all the way to our boat and kept raising his arm to confirm what God had just done in his life.
