“The Chosen” actress Yasmine Al-Bustami initially didn’t expected to have a more involved role.
“The Chosen”
Since its debut in 2017, “The Chosen” has gained widespread popularity among Christians and has even captured the interest of others, making it the world’s most crowdfunded project. In a notable achievement, “The Chosen” was featured on the cover of TV Guide Magazine. This magazine, with a readership of over 13 million weekly readers nationwide, has been one of the most popular publications in the country for over 70 years, as reported by GOD TV.
The appearance of “The Chosen” on the cover of the magazine was historic, as it marked the first time a show about Jesus received such recognition. The series also received acclaim at the K-Love Fan Awards in June, adding to the numerous awards it has garnered over the years. It has undeniably had a significant impact on millions of people worldwide, bringing them closer to Christ. This includes not only the viewers but also the lives of the talented actors involved in the production.

When asked about her feelings regarding being part of a show that has had a significant impact, she admitted that she initially couldn’t believe it.
“It’s crazy. I feel like I just cannot keep up with where we are, what we’re doing, who we are affecting. So any time that I get the opportunity to meet one person who explains how it’s impacted them, that’s always cool. It’s nice to see them when their eyes light up and they get super excited. And we get a chance to talk to them as well,” she said.
Initially, the actress didn’t anticipate being in a more involved role.
Yasmine Al-Bustami Has A More Involved Role
She only realizes her more involved role during the scene where she and Thomas are observing Jesus and the departure of everyone from the wedding. There was one way that the director filmed it when Thomas said, “Jesus invited me to go with him to Samaria.”
“And then Dallas comes over and talks to Joey [Thomas], says something in his ear, and then I see both of them kind of look at me. We film it again and Thomas now goes, “He invited us to go with him to Samaria,”” she recalled.
She was pleasantly surprised by how things unfolded and found herself delighted by the outcome.
