“Why did Jesus have to die?” is the question that changed a drug addict’s life forever.

Kristin Schweiger grew up knowing a lot about Jesus because of her Christian stepmother. However, everything changed when her unbelieving childhood friend instilled doubts in her mind during 8th grade. Later on, she began to perceive God as someone who takes away the fun in her life.

“My parents were pretty strict. They were super loving and they did the best that they could, I just felt that they were just imposing rules on my life and trying to take away my fun. Now, I started to believe that God was the same way. I decided I was going to live life my way for my happiness because I was missing out. I will deal with God on my deathbed.”

Sinful life

She engaged in sexual relationships with different boys, partying, and drinking alcohol until she got exposed and addicted to various drugs. After months of living a sinful lifestyle, she came to the realization that she was feeling empty.

“I was living the life that the world promised me happiness and fulfillment. I was making tons of money, and going to the hottest parties, and by the end of being in that environment for one year, by the end of year, I realized that it was empty.”

“Why did Jesus have to die?”

Wanting to make her life right again, she returned to her hometown in Colorado, where her brother and sister-in-law reintroduced Jesus to Kristin.

“My older brother and his wife started pursuing me with the love of God. I asked them, ‘Why did Jesus have to die?’ And it was in that moment I realized that He did that for me.”

That simple question made her realize the amazing love of Jesus and prompted her to surrender her life to Jesus.

“God take my life. It belongs to you. It’s yours,” she said to Jesus that very same day.

Kristin’s testimony tells us that no one is too far from the grace and love of God. Regardless of what you’ve done in the past, the Lord will still be excited to welcome you into His arms again if you’d just let Him be your Savior.

A Profound Wisdom in Answering “Who Created God?” Question

Impact Video Ministries is answering one of the difficult questions that skeptics and other religions often ask, “who created God?” They have shared three points that contain profound wisdom in answering this question.

Christians believe God created everything—the universe, the heavens, and the earth. But some would argue, especially those who don’t believe in God or that He exists, that if God was real and He created everything, then “who created God?”

Skeptics argue that “if everything we see had a beginning or a cause for its existence, shouldn’t God also need a cause for existence?” And whenever a Christian would explain that God doesn’t need a cause because He is God, the skeptics wouldn’t buy the argument.

So Impact Video Ministries created a video to help explain the answer to this tricky question.

1.In order for people to exist, something needs to be eternal.

The Christian Ministry explained that the “fact that we are and alive is a proof that Someone or Something was eternal.” And God, who is eternal, was that force that caused humanity to exist. Man cannot exist without their Creator, God.

2.The Universe can’t be eternal.

According to scientific facts, “the Universe is actually expanding and that our Universe has a limited amount of energy.” With that said, we can conclude that the Universe had a beginning. And since it had a beginning, then it has also an end. Therefore, the Universe cannot be eternal.

3.The God of the Bible claims to be eternal.

In Psalm 90:2, it was written, “Before them mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”

This word revealed that “God had no beginning and has no end. He always was, He always was, and always will be.” Therefore, God is not bounded by time because He is eternal.

During a Live Q&A session with Jonathan Pokluda at BeSo Live, imparted profound wisdom in response to a question regarding how to deal with burnout.

Burnout is a dreaded experience among Christians that can throw one’s life into disarray. It could also lead to feelings of fear, resentment, bitterness, and weakness. This dilemma does not just happen to one but is also a prevalent issue affecting many Christians who are dedicated to serving the Lord. But why does burnout occur?

This question was also raised by a woman during the Live Q&A session with Jonathan Pokluda at BeSo Live. She asked, “How do you deal with burnout and where does this come from?”

Galatians 1:10 Problem

In the shortened clip, Jonathan responded, “More often than not, burnout is from doing the wrong things and or with the wrong motive.” He then shared how his eyes were opened after counseling people who were suffering from burnout. The speaker remarked that all of them had a Galatians 1:10 problem.

It says in Galatians 1:10, “Am I now trying to win the approval of God or of humans? For if I’m trying to please humans, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”

Elaborating on the Scripture, Jonathan explained that some Christians fall into the trap of seeking validation from people rather than from God. And he stressed that such misplaced focus is where burnout often finds its foothold in their lives.

“And what happens is we care so much about what people think of us,” he explained. “We care so much about the job we’re doing. We care so much around our reputation and all of the things that it just crushes us. And we weren’t made for that glory.”

Jonathan’s message serves as a reminder for Christians to frequently assess the condition of their hearts. For those struggling with burnout, his counsel advocates for deliberate self-examination. Taking a pause to contemplate God’s grace and seeking God about the state of their hearts can pave the way for transformative change.

Janina Vela, a Filipina vlogger with a substantial following of over 300,000 on Instagram, provided a heartfelt response to one of her followers’ inquiries. Many of them sought guidance on restarting their relationship with God, possibly indicating that they were genuine Christians grappling with their faith due to various disappointments.

More often than not, Christians are unprepared for life’s trials and challenges. Consequently, some succumb to temptations and stumble back into sin, even after years of faithfully following Christ. This internal struggle is something many believers fear opening up about to others. However, the majority of them desire a restoration of their faith. So, how should they begin?

Come Home

Janina Vela answered this question in her recent vlog. She pointed out, “Coming home starts with a single step.”

The influencer explained how often “we have these really high standards,” especially when one has been in the Christian faith for a long time. Janina acknowledged that such struggles are normal. However, she also recognized that it can become a dilemma for individuals when they find themselves unable to meet these standards.

“And those are great standards!” she exclaimed. “But standards are supposed to motivate you to be better, not discourage you from even trying.”

Further, Janina explained, “What I’m trying to say is, if coming back to God just means reading the verse of the day on the Bible app, listening to a podcast, going to church with your friend, or saying a little prayer, then do that.”

Then, she proceeded to share the Parable of the Lost Son from the Bible. In this story, the Father warmly welcomed his prodigal son with great excitement, despite the son’s past actions.

“And while he was still a long way off, his Father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him,” she read.

Finally, Janina remarked, “Going back to God doesn’t have to be a sprint. Just take it one step at a time, and the Father will come running.”

Many people struggle to deal with their negative emotions, especially anxiety. Hence, the Christian ministry Impact Video Ministries addressed this issue and shared three key moments on “how to handle anxiety.”

Anxiety is real. It’s a feeling worse than worrying. People feel anxious about many things, especially when overwhelmed by their situation. Here are three keys we can use to handle anxiety.

1.Rest your body.

In 1 Kings 19:4-5, Elijah, the Prophet, prayed to God that he would die because, at that moment, he was defeated by his circumstance. He asked God to take his life because he was depressed. But God answered by giving him food and letting him sleep again.
With that said, we can learn that “on way to combat anxiety and find rest is to physically take care of your body.”

2.Rest your mind.

In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul told the church of Philippi not to be anxious. He wrote, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

This passage teaches believers how to respond whenever anxieties attack. Prayer and a heart that is filled with gratitude to God is the best way to overcome a troubled heart.

3.Rest your soul.

It says in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

This passage teaches believers to rest their souls in the truth of God’s Word and not on anything outside of God. Also, the ministry advises us to rest in our salvation in Jesus. Because that truth reminds us that God has already won the battle for us. And His love for us assures our soul that everything will be okay.

If you are someone struggling with anxiety or depression, follow the steps stated above because this will help you. Know that God cares, and He loves you so much.

The pastor of Life Church has an important message for single men and women about our true purpose here on earth. We all have our God-given purpose here on earth.

A marriage is a covenant that you and your spouse would serve the Lord together as you grow old together. Pastor Craig urged single men and women to ask themselves if they and the person they want to marry could serve God together better than being just single.

“You’re walking towards Jesus and you find someone that’s cute. So you walked towards Jesus a little bit closer to the person. And you start to get to know them and when you find that they’re secure in Christ, and you find that they have great character, and they’re planted in the community. And you like them and you enjoy them, and you’re attracted to them. You ask yourself, ‘Could we serve Jesus better together than we could apart?'”

Marriage

Pastor Craig emphasized that our main purpose here on earth is not to be married by to live a life devoted to Jesus. Marriage is not the main goal of our life.

“When you recognize you can, you grab their hand and walk to the aisle, and you walk past the aisle and you keep walking to Jesus. Your verse becomes this, ‘Glorify the Lord with me together. Let us exalt His name together.’ And that’s when you get married. Because our purpose isn’t to be married, our purpose is to be wholly devoted to Jesus.

God designed marriages to bring glory to His name.

Sam Flores, lead pastor of For Koin Church, was recently asked the most common question Christian singles ask. How will you know if the person you are dating is the one?

“When they love God more than you. If they do not love God, and they don’t have value in God, you have to run from that. Because we’re like stepping into a space within our culture where divorce is just thrown left and right. It’s no big deal anymore, there’s no value and there’s no moral compass. So, women have to raise the bar, unfortunately, of pushing back the apathy of a man,” Sam explained.

Put God first in your life

He continued to remind single men and women to put God first in their lives and seek healing for the wounds in their hearts. We must pursue healing from the wounds of our past so that we don’t carry them into marriage.

“It needs to be God is first in your life, you need to be working through the wounds of maybe some dysfunction in your own life. And then learning to be healthy with people and friends around you.”

It is important not to look to a relationship to save you, you must seek healing from the Lord.

“A lot of people just jump into a relationship because there’s a void that’s missing within their soul. They’re trying to get from this guy or trying to get from this girl what they can only truly get from God. You devalue yourself when you do this.”

A young atheist man came up to Christian author Frank Turek to ask him tough questions about God. The young man, Carter, first asked who designed God and who designed the universe. With the wisdom and knowledge of heaven, Frank gave him an incredible answer.

“God did not have a beginning. He’s the uncaused first cause. Aristotle and Plato knew this, they knew there had to be an unmoved mover… God is in another dimension that has the ability to bring these dimensions into existence. So if you want to call it other dimensions, you can call it that. But that’s exactly what we mean by God,” Frank answered him.

He then asked an interesting question, “Why do we worship God?” The Christian apologetic then answered him sharing that everyone has free will to worship God or not. No one is forced by God to worship Him.

“You don’t have to worship God… You can do whatever you want, that’s why we have free will. God loves you enough to give you free will. You can love him or reject him, that’s up to you,” he said.

“There are only two possibilities if God exists. In eternity, you’re going to be with Him or you’re not going to be with Him. That’s logically the only two options. If you want to be with Him, you will seek Him out and be with Him. If you don’t want to be with Him, God will not for you into His presence against your will.”

That’s how great the Father’s love is. He gave all His children the choice to be with Him or not and it’s up to us where would we want to spend our eternity.

“God loves you too much to force you into His presence against your will.”

Welcome Jesus To Your Home Today

This is a confronting question but worth asking. How will things have to change if Jesus came home to stay? Will my daily routines have to change? Will my friendships have to change? Will my talk have to change? What about what I watch on television and online? Maybe we have to do an audit to see how much change we will have to make if Jesus moves in. However He lives in us. He is resident in our life through the Holy Spirit. Yet most of the time we are not aware of His presence or are we? Jesus said He had no place to lay His head down. Why was this so? People were happy to follow Him from a distance but when persecution came they all left Him.

Lordship

Has anything changed today? Are we happy to have Jesus to meet our needs but keep Him at a distance? Many call Him Lord but do we really understand what it means to say He is Lord? Our conscience has been so seared by the culture we live in that we don’t even know what sin is! We have accommodated to the culture we live in and nothing appears to upset us. We do things all in the name of tolerance and love. Is it loving to tolerate evil? Yet this is what we are doing in our churches. We have a good time and hear nice messages that keep us comfortable and warm. Jesus came to upset the status quo. He did not bring peace but division. So what was the peace He was talking about?

Audit

In this world we will face challenges that will confront us and we have to make a choice for good or evil. There is no compromise as compromise means we have given in to evil. We cannot compromise with sin. We cannot cover it with nice clothes and perfume. It is still sin. It is time for us to do an audit and ask ourselves the question. Will Jesus be comfortable to live with us or will He be left outside? I am challenged by this question and have to do a daily audit to stop doing things which I know I will not do or say if Jesus is in my home. Examining yourself is a good way to start the process of cleaning up my own home. His peace is real when we make Him Lord.
