What does “Be still and know that I am God” really mean?
“Be still and know that I am God”
Christian YouTube influencer Alex Wilson explains in his recent video the real meaning of Psalms 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” His realization about the verse came when his schedule for quiet time got disturbed because of his son’s mess. While he was getting mad about his situation, he asked God for a promise. God then gave him a verse.
“The promise is: ‘I am God so that you can be still.'”
Being still and knowing that He is God means sinking down to the realization that you are not God of your life.
“To still mean to sink down, sinking down means doing that very same thing: ‘Oh, I’m not God.’ And laying down deep into that, sinking down deep into the idea that I’m not God. And that’s heavy because everything in our world tells us that we are the God of our life.”

Surrender
Peace and freedom come only when we surrender our lives to God. Let go of trying to get everything in your life together and start trusting the Lord.
“We will never experience peace and freedom if we try to be gods. God wants us to stop trying to be gods and start realizing that we’re God’s, apostrophe s. And realizing you’re God’s means dying to yourself. You have to die to the idea that you’re not God, die to the idea that you’re not in control, die to the idea that life is not about you. That’s death, that’s sinking down.”
“God is God and I am not… He wants us to drown in His love, drown in His mercy.”
