According to Scripture, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18). A vision is a picture in your mind of the kind of future you want to see happen but has not happened yet. And as God’s children, our vision lies in Him.
A sense of purpose
Vision inspires us to embrace life and spurs us into action, to do something, great. Having a vision enables you to wake up every morning with a sense of purpose. It will keep you moving forward, knowing that the Lord has so much in store for you. For a person with a vision is a person with a future.
God has a vision for us
God never fails in giving His people visions, because He doesn’t want them to perish. God Himself is the ultimate visionary. We can see this in many ways, including His words in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).
God has planned to give us hope and a future; this is something we can take hold of for our future, though it will require faith and patience.
Hold on to God’s vision
God reveals His heart to His people, and that revelation leads to a clarity of vision of what’s coming and it will never lead us astray no, never.
So, we have to hold onto His promises, for us to reach the future that He has designed for us. The moment we stop walking towards something, we start to die, as we will lose our sense of purpose of why we are alive.
When we have a vision, we have something to look forward to, and we understand that the trials we face have a purpose. We have a changed perception as we start to see things the way God sees them!
