Premature twins birthed at just 21 weeks are now recovering well. The mother of these twins calls this a miracle.
Premature twins
Taylor Davis went into labor just a little over 5 months into her pregnancy. She was carrying twins and it wasn’t an easy pregnancy. The expectant mom was admitted to the hospital where she laid upside down on her bed for six days.
She tried to keep her babies in her womb longer while also trusting in the Lord for her babies’ health.
“I cried the whole time, and I wasn’t crying like happiness,” she said. “I was crying in fear of, ‘Are they going to be able to save her?’ It is crazy because they are twins, but they are completely opposite, born three days apart, different months, different ways of being birthed, and completely different personalities. It is just so funny how they are twins, but they couldn’t be more different.”
Miraculous Survival
On October 29, 2021, baby Avery was born, three days later, Taylor gave birth to baby Emersyn through a C-section. They had to rush her birth because of a complication that led to Taylor’s bleeding. The two babies both weighed 1-pound at the time of their birth.
“I told my husband that I was dying, and they rushed me away so fast that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him or my mom,” she said. “They were running down the hall, chasing my bed, and I just kept on begging the doctors to just tell my other children that I love them and that I was sorry, and I just kept on saying, ‘Please save my baby, please save my baby.'”
On March 14, the twin preemies were released from the Golisano Children’s hospital in Fort Myers. They were the youngest babies to survive at that said hospital.
Doctors and nurses are praising the Lord for this miracle. “The nurses and the doctors just kept on saying, ‘This is a miracle. We don’t see this,'” she said.
