After God spoke to him, a pastor prayed for 30 kids. Many were healed and freed from demons. Some even walked without a wheelchair!
Praying for the sick
Jeremy Johnson is the pastor of Fearless Church. His passion is to ignite a generation on fire for Jesus and to know God. But he couldn’t seem to do it.
“I tried everything that I could think of, and every time I would come to youth ministry as a youth pastor, the youth group would shrink. It was like I was The Incredible Shrinking Church,” Jeremy said.
He would often notice the smaller crowd and the empty seats. Desperate for answers, Jeremy pleaded with God.
“And I just remember beating on the wall as if I was beating on God’s chest saying, “God, you know my heart.” I heard the voice of God say, “Are you done yet?” “Are you done with all your ideas, all your clever sermons?”
And I said, “God I am so done. I didn’t sign up for this, I just want to help people.” God said, “Okay, then let me take over.”
He said, “Rip up your sermon. It’s not that good.” So, I ripped it up and he said, “When you go out there I’m going to tell you what to say.” I got the microphone. When I got the microphone, the Lord said, “Call every sick person on the stage.”
The pastor prayed for 30 kids
“I said, “Okay, God. These are teenagers. Not many of them are sick.” That night, over 30 kids filled the stage in wheelchairs and with sicknesses I had never seen, growths, and broken legs. God said, “Now, pray for them.” That night, instead of a sermon, I prayed for 30 kids on a stage,” Jeremy shared.

So he prayed for one kid after another. Every kid in the room got saved that night.
“Every kid got filled with the Holy Spirit. I remember walking off the stage and I heard the voice of God say, “Did you like that?” I said, “God, I could do that with two kids. I love that.” And so God told me, he said, “Okay, if you like that, instead of working this week I want you to pray. Eight hours a day, Jeremy.” I said, “God, I’m a youth pastor here. I have a lot of jobs to do.” God says, “So you’re telling me your church will let you go if you pray?” I said, “Okay, God.”
Praying eight hours a day
So for eight hours a day, Jeremy would pray. He didn’t know that God was equipping him for what was to come.
“That next week I came to youth service and that next week, as I was preaching, a young man filled with a demon answered the altar call. He came to the front and he then went to the middle of the crowd, and he started dragging a girl out of the crowd. I didn’t know what to do, so I just started praying. I started praying. The Spirit, within seconds, the kid with the demon was at my feet begging me to stop,” Jeremy said.
But he didn’t stop. He continued praying, and after a while, one of the other leaders prayed and cast the demon out of the young man.
Jeremy asked the Lord, “God, why’d you have me to do that?” And He said, “Because he was trying to take over the service, where I was going to set people free.”
Every teenager got saved again that night.
A pastor prayed for 30 kids, but it was God who saved them from eternal condemnation. Whenever you feel inadequate to be used by God, always remember that He’s the one who will do the healing and the saving. He’s a miracle-making God!
