With so many ups and downs in life, God says, “Do not be anxious.” How do we walk in perfect peace, even when our circumstances are not perfect? If God tells us to not be anxious, how do we accomplish this?
Pastor R.E. Holder Teaches How to Live Like Jesus
Living Stone Ministries is led by Apostle Edgar Holder and his wife Pastor Irma Holder. According to their website, “Living Stone Ministries’ mission is to translate the depth of the Gospel into identity and practical applications, enabling each individual to live the way Jesus Christ showed: as an overcomer and ultimately a builder of the Kingdom of God…”
R.E. Holder teaches about how to live in the blessings of God. He said, “You see, what the first Adam had, God has given to the born again believers through the last Adam.”
The first Adam had perfect peace, and he walked with God in perfect harmony. Jesus has come as the Prince of Peace. We do not have to be anxious.

Do Not Be Anxious
Most people have experienced anxiety at some level. Life can be stressful and circumstances can be unpredictable. When we don’t have control over a situation, we can feel anxious.
In Philippians 4:6, it says, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
There are keys in this verse on how to overcome feeling anxious. God is so good, and He has provided a way for us to have perfect peace through His Son Jesus.
Prayer takes us from being isolated in our thoughts to sharing those thoughts with God. As you pray, thank God for what He has already done. Also thank Him for what He will do! He is always moving on your behalf. His love is steadfast. Remembering that restores our hope.
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him'” (Lamentations 3:21-24).
There is something beautiful that happens when we pray and trust that God will answer. The next verse says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). His peace surpasses all understanding.
When we do this, we are obeying what Jesus said in Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” We are choosing to seek His kingdom and His righteousness first.

Application
Sit in a quiet place and give Jesus anything that makes you feel anxious. Another way to translate “Do not be anxious” is “Do not let your thoughts be occupied.” Bring your thoughts to Jesus. Give Him room to bring His perfect peace. He can handle your situation, and because you have the mind of Christ, you will overcome anxious thoughts.
‘For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16).
We are training ourselves to seek Him first, and to trust in His ways. When life doesn’t go as planned, and anxiety creeps in, He has given us the way out! Anxiety is crippling. It stops us from being able to dream big. We end up in survival mode, but God has promised us an abundant life.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Jesus is the Door to abundant life. We must enter His presence.
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for your promises. I give you all of my fears and anxiety. Thank you for your peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen.
